They have already stated they want to reduce the length of time between reveal and release. Since the PS4, their headquarters have moved from Japan to US. The whole team has pretty much changed. The market is different. Social media influence is greater. The dissemination of information is a lot quicker. They also want to keep the competition guessing. All those reasons and more are why they won't follow the same playbook.

I think Sony are doing an amazing job thus far.

So far they have let Xbox come in and talk in open air about their plans and seem like a real competitor. Everyone’s been speculating about it being more powerful and their other services like GamePass are all the talk of the industry.

Sony could have done something about this if they had of bothered to try. So far their marketing has been a complete cop out ... a pay walled article on a non gaming site... a demo that u could easily be achieved on any normal SSD. If Sony had of played things right, they would be having games that people cared about coming out now and be dominating the news instead of letting Xbox fill the gap.

If u think this is “amazing” you have phenomenally low standards. So far Sony doing nothing has played right into Xbox’s hands. Obviously the strategy is wait and show what they have at once which is usually only the best strategy when u want a little to seem like a lot. They could be selling preorders right now ... or selling subscriptions to encourage users to not change platforms.

What we have now is many people getting ready to sit back and watch them fight it out .. they should have already locked many users in ... like gamepass has been doing.

My guess is that sony will not say anything before lauch The Last of Us 2, they will not want to lose all focus on the game. I think the delay in production did a damage to the company's schedule.

The github leak is the only thing I'm believing till I see evidence otherwise because insiders you can't reliably trust saying stuff doesn't mean a thing. This happens every cycle where we're already staring at the accurate information for many months on end, but nobody wants to believe it. Nothing we've seen anywhere comes off nearly as credible or as detailed as what came from that amd github leak. Hope for a stronger PS5 than what's shown, but too much of the information lines up well, and the source is too big a deal for me to just ignore it. And all the github leak did on the xbox side of things is just more or less confirm what Microsoft was already clearly communicating even before it was found. With what Xbox has said, the configuration and features on the chip listed in the github leaks just makes sense.

Matt and Kleegamefan denied the GitHub leak, Klee said XSX is a bit above 12 TF RDNA, and he also said PS5 is a little bit more powerful than XSX.

2 Ghz draws 100% more power than 1.5 Ghz, for an increase of just 33% in performance. Clocks so high make no sense.
