PS5 to be revealed in the same approach and time-frame as what sony did in the past with PS4, as they mentioned in their Q3 FY2019 too, is exactly what i heard about The announcement time of the console around 8 months ago.
Still #teamfeb

Shouldn’t invites have gone out already if it were the same approach?

Yea . Could it be that till late last year they were trying to reach an agreement with esa for attending e3 and it didn’t work . So after that they decided to push the reveal to may and maybe do another wired article before may ? I m just speculating Ofcourse. Cause they were trying to reach an agreement for e3 but it failed

So HeisenbergFX4 HeisenbergFX4 reconfirms one of his sources says PS5 is ~9.5TF with XSX a little over but down close to that number, his other sources still say both are 11TF+. Conclusions ...

Called it... hoping sony still surprises everyone though.

9tf vs 12tf is a pretty big difference.

The 9 vs 12 seems to be becoming the norm now.

Gotta keep pushing that narrative! Good job!

Do you maintain that the PS5 GPU is more powerful than the Xbox SX GPU?

You do know that there are other sources than Heisenberg?

Also what source has ever said it's 9 vs 12? Aside from people taking the 9TF from Github leaks and combining with the 12TF from other sources and smooging them together? No leak which claims to have access to both systems has said it's 9TF vs 12TF that I've seen, it's all both ~9.5/10 or both around 11/12 with one slightly ahead of the other. So how is it "becoming the norm now"?

There is plenty of evidence that says XSX is 12tflops. I can repeat them all for you, but would be boring at this point.
The Github leaks mirror one of the original PS5 dev kit leaks that said a 9.2tflop GPU.

The interesting thing in all these TF discussions is; is XSX primed to be a high end offering with a price tag to match, catering to the high end consumer, not the the average punter.

This of course falls inline with Ms also offering a much cheaper alternative at the same time.

Leaving Sony somewhere in between with spec and price. How would the market respond. Pretty exciting to watch it unfold.

So no then, there is no source with access to both saying it's 9 vs 12. Thanks for clarifying. Again, aside from people using the same information and popping up regularly to say "So 9 vs 12 then..." how is it "becoming the norm now"?

For now getting off the PS5 reveal hype train :messenger_pensive:, there is definitely something going on at sony. My best guess is recent restructuring has change the plans,or being optimistic they might be waiting on some or one particular game demo to be delivered for launch showcase.. pretty sure sony would like to avoid another deep down and dreams moment or "square enix please be excited" quote

When launching your next big product that is going to be your focus for the coming 7 years, I would say that there are not going to be sudden delays or change of plans due to "some game demo not being delivered on time". They will absolutely make everyone work overtime to get something ready.

Just because we don't know what and when Sony is doing, doesn't mean they are scared/delayed/underpowered/etc. They simply have their planning and they are sticking to it, whether we like it or not.

We have 0 reason to believe ps5 is code named prospero. Has it only been one alleged source to bring forth that it's named prospero

In fact the leak that said it was prospero was deemed faked when MS said there was no camera being developed for series x

You are reading to much into my statement. Being sony they wouldn't want to showcase games that are far out, which was a talking point from PS4 reveal event..

People are over analysing the situation here. Sony is sticking to its plans whatever they may be and internally there is always going to be changes. We know that PS5 is coming this holiday season and the reveals and what not happen between now and then. They absolutely dont have to stick to how they did it previousy (like sending invites exactly 21days before). The gaming industry has changed tremendously since 2013. Having said all this, I still hope for the Feb reveal event with a monday/tuesday announcement.

This to me makes the most sense and was my train of thought too. I always seen the ps5 as the true 'next gen' console. The xsx a higher powered version and Lockhart the lower powered version. Ps5 sitting firmly Inbetween(tf wise) both xbox's. But this is only IF the ps5 is lower powered. If it's much the same then I don't think it would be a wise move for ms to create 2 consoles.

But people seriously need to get over the whole TF power. Like some people are proper butt hurt when they think their precious console is the inferior one. Their will be a minimal difference in graphic quality and it'll be more be a fps gain. Your next gen improvement will be from the better cpu and ssd. I'll be getting both as always and can't wait.

Welp, next rumor date is the 12th. Also the thing about github leak its been reported many times that the native is unknown. If BC really is backwards compat. Then 36-40, 18 is ps4 pro/ base Ps4. If the native is unknown one should think it would be above 36/40. Thats where i find my issue with the github leak. it only paints one side of the story but the main variable is missing.

Edit: Dont ask about the 2ghz lol maybe they like to push it to the limits 🤣

Hmm indeed.

~ means around
13+ means after the 13th.

How does that disprove the 20th in your little world?

He said:
“same approach and time-frame” So a formal reveal like 2013.

Today is Feb 7, when are they going to send invites for a “ ~middle Feb “ reveal?

I’ll go with HeisenbergFX4 HeisenbergFX4 guess and say if the reveal in Feb it’ll be a SoP.

No source other official AMD benchmarks of the PS5 GPU.
And so who is the source who is using both dev kits that has gone on the record with the flops of both consoles?

How can ps5 be the true next gen console if you also think SX is higher spec...?

I have no idea whats going on anymore... you guys make my head hurt...

I'm not sure who you're replying to but it could be that PS5 is starting a new generation of games while Xbox SX is adding a new coat of paint to this generation of games.

Nope, 12TF + Ray Tracing. You don't count ray tracing into the basic power of the GPU to go so far as to say 2 times the power of xbox one x or over 8 times the power of xbox one. There is an entirely separate metric for ray tracing performance or power, and they may or may not use that.
10.8 TF RDNA is already more than 2x the Xbox X.

It's almost as if some wilfully want to interpret shit only one way, even when it's written in plain English. It's petty and childish.

Couldn't care less, as we'll know in 2 weeks and Tommy's put his account on the line anyway.

Haha sorry, slight misunderstanding there. Hopefully this will make sense. I shouldn't of said ps5 the true next gen. I meant the power, not necessarily directed at ps5. Say 10tf being the true next gen power 'step'. I see the xsx being the 'pro' version of of the next gen. Does that make better sense?

They way you said it, makes it sound like just because x1x is more powerful than they PS4 pro, it's in a different gen. No. Just because a console is more powerful, it doesn't put it in a different generation.

Ahh I see your line of thinking and this makes more sense.

This however, does not.
