They really seem to like authoritarian regimes controlling people as long as their cohort is in power. Same thing happened in the meeting of resetera’s Black leaders, they wanted people hunted down and if they’re friends with “problematic” folks then they get permanent ban due to guilt by association.

From the start, they weren't making these safe spaces and standing up for themselves, they were demanding that the authority figures invest the effort and make the safe spaces for them, as if this was something owed to them on the merit of their position on the oppression hierarchy. What, you're telling me you don't have safe spaces? You must be one of those deplorables who normalizes and provides a platform for hate speech, obviously.
I said it awhile ago, but the easiest way to get rid of these screechers would be to give them their own city/country and declare "the most oppressed person gets to be the supreme ruler". Nature takes care of the rest.

Actually it's not necessarily a big deal, we have a rule against spreading false rumors since 1881 in France, as part of the one that allowed free press, and it's just totally inefficient.
Even in the newspapers era it never worked to stop a rumor, the few cases where autorities felt it was a good idea to use it (no more than 60 or so in 1,5 century iirc), the damage was already done as rumors travel far faster than people establishing the truth, people verifying what was writen, and then courts or autorities to enforce "the truth", it just allowed to make a few editors pay fines months after publishing false stories. Even in the rarer cases a newspaper could be immediatly censored it only generated Streisand effect (the most famous case in the XIXth century, a rumor about blonde girls being kidnapped in some dress stores to be sold as slaves to the Ottomans, actually spread and survived for decades despite the first paper mentionning it being immediatly censored, mostly because it was mentionned in the then trial where it was condemned for spreading this false story, then quoted by other papers commenting the trial).
Another point was that in more than half the cases the trials were won by the defenders arguing their good faith as you can't retroactively punish people for not knowing the truth, and it quasi requires mind reading to prove people to have been willingfully spread lies, with sometimes the side effect of making public believe fake news spreaders were considered not guilty because they were right. Was so counter-productive that in the 30 last years, despite the explosion of fake news, that still existing law has not been invoked more than 2 or 3 times (and only for completely fabricated news with proofs of intent like altered photos).
(still it didn't dissuade Macron to make a new law against fake news in 2018, this time to punish people spreading them to influence political campaigns, law that likely won't work / will only be counter-productive for a power wanting to use it, for same reasons, it's why I know the precedents well, we just had this debate 2 yrs ago)
To resume, even ignoring the possibility of malevolent political exploitation of an anti fake news law, imagining that a law that couldn't work in the XIX/XXth century for national newspapers in a medium sized country, would be able to squash fake news in internet era and for the USA is ResetEra level of insane.

oh yeah there is widespread erasure of black Americans outside the major cities. the way libs talk about the south and rural areas, it's like they think literally everyone living there is a white racist. cos to be honest the people making that assumption are probably living in Portland or Canada or Denmark or some other socialist paradise that IS almost entirely white.

I don't think so. I still think it's still heavily weighted toward Sony bias. However, I think PC, of all platforms, is actually starting to take over there. As for Microsoft, I believe Nintendo has more of a presence than they do, still. All it takes is a Nintendo direct.
