Looks very good/end of gen for visuals, but sound wise, it gave me an orgasm.
I remember playing TLoU for the first time, "to see what the fuzz is all about", and with all the hype I obviously had very high expectations. But my first real "wow" moment was like an hour into the game, when Joel, Ellie and Tess are trying to get out of the city. It's raining and the player must go through an abandoned bus. Most other games would just mute the rain sounds a bit, perhaps apply a filter. But there, the first time I stepped inside the bus I was just blown away. It sounded so incredibly real, especially in surround. You could just imagine being there. I spent a couple of minutes just going in and out of the bus instead of progressing the game (I guess I'm easily amused).

ND usually gets praise for graphics, but their audio department doesn't get nearly enough credit, they definitely are top-notch too.

I'm discussing what it would be to drop ps5 at 399$, if it's more powerful than 9Tf then it gonna cost more, and i have no problem with that, more power = the better the experience.
Note : im talking in general, i don't wanna open a 30 page debate about sony exclusives destroys microsoft.

i mean

this is running real time folks (in game next gen graphics will look like this) depending on the resolution.
If you want a beast console, 399$ is out of the equation, i just discussed the idea of what a 399$ will offer (-9tf).
Ps4 price wont drop until a next generation product is out, this is how they make huge margins on products people.

Jason’s already said they’re both above a 2080 which is above 9TF so you have nothing to worry about there.

nowhat nowhat i enjoyed tlou, it was great, just maybe not as perfect as a lot make out (but then what is).

Audio wise the game was spot on, and I’m a real kicker for good audio, more so even than visuals.

Stupidly I’ve had the remastered version on PS4 for years but still haven’t got around to it.

The SSD alone adds like an additional $200-300. $399 isn’t possible.

.....

....these are consoles. Not people buying products at Best Buy at an MSRP marked up for high profit margins. The SSD isn't adding anywhere near $300 or even $200, for either system.

Having to wade through rubbish posts of twitter fanboys? Nah fam, i'd rather use the ignore function to filter out the rubbish.

I seriously doubt that.

They will show footage on high end PC yes but not anything running on PS5.

Hey hey never know, could surprise us. Plus I think they'd maybe want to show off the PC version at E3, and if Sony's going to do their own event roughly around E3 time, a more in-depth PS5 version preview would be there.

Dude is self made. Can't hate on his hustle.

Started off as some kid posting gaming news blogs at the dawn of the internet gaming boom, and made himself into what he is today. With his millie's on stack.
I'm not hating at all. Geoff is a nice guy and has carved himself into the industry of gaming I don't think even he expected.

He's a self-made not cool kid.

Just a little correction,if you are talking about what I think it is (after that, it start a cutscene and they discover Ellie's condition) ,is a container, not a bus.I had the same reaction,I still has every time I play. You pass by a buss when you are looking for Robert.

Is it really? It's been a while. Oh well, that's exactly the scene I'm talking about and glad to see I'm not alone.

Even if PS5 is $399 I don't see them cutting price that drastically. $180 would be the biggest price drop ever and they've held off for so long why would they suddenly get it SO much lower in one swoop. I'd say they drop both $100 anyway in that scenario but would just get less sales on the older hardware as there's less money to be saved on a machine that doesn't have as long of a life ahead of it. Still will see some big slim sales when they get it down to $199 I think especially if they can do it before September when PS5 is gonna be hogging all the mindshare. Get that last infusion of install base and those buyers are likely to buy PS5 when it gets in their price range years later

lol this looks insane and exactly the kind of needless shit that makes these games take 7 years to make. i mean i love the level of detail but who asked for this. they literally created animations for cleaning every individual part of the guns. insane.
the kind off add-on that will annoy you after 5 try's.
I know but the point was that is just one part.
lol the point is that you made no point.

Has there been anything, at all, even rumour, said about the next version of the Vr headset?

I know it was said the current model will work on the new console, but the resolution could be better per eye, and there are a lot of other improvements that could be made.

I still find it baffling Ms refuse to make their own VR head set. I would have thought it would be right up their street.
Just the patents IIRC. Some mentions here and there from supposed devs but nothing concrete.

What if we got a major SIE WWS AAA exclusive for PS4 & PS5 next year and it's a sequel. Your guesses are as good as mine!
Are we still getting 1st party ps4/cross gen exclusives after ps5 launches?

It's the number one thing I wanna see and know about.
Yeah we are getting new shiny graphics with new games, that's a given.
But with BC it's more interesting because of the possibilities it brings.
Will I finally be able to a series run of MGS on one Console?
Will it play the best version of Silent Hill 2, and how will it look?
Will I finally get to replay Persona 3 Fes in HD.
and if PS3 BC is possible.
All those game that was sub-hd
Can they be played in anything above its original res with a decent framerate?
Will Valkyrie Profile 2 look like this
To start off, bc with anything other than ps4 is likely out of the question.
What you're expecting is comparable to what remasters like TLOU and shadow of colossus did. In reality, all it would be is higher res output with frame rate improvements, basically playing the game as it was on the original platform(which I doubt is what most excited about BC want) What people think of when they think BC is probably what MS have done with some of their games. In order to put in higher res textures, rework lighting, etc, devs would need to manually do all that. Problem is that unless they still hold the license/rights to those titles and everything in them, there's no way for them to monetize those games to warrant "updating" them.

"So far, 10,000 people have died and 180,000 people have been hospitalized during the 2019-2020 flu season, according to preliminary estimates from the CDC "
This is in the US alone, and I know 500 died in Norway last year due to flu (I was pretty shocked by that). Percentage-wise, this is higher than the coronovirus lethality. Victims of the coronavirus is largely people with weakened immune systems, just like with flu. A response and trying to contain it is warranted, but it's gone out of hand now. Anyway, very OT. Also, you're right about the mental issues :)

The flu is a scary thing, especially in older adults. We lost 2 clients last year to the flu and almost lost my mother to it last year as well.

You didn’t specify gameplay; you just said ‘next gen videos’.

Also, I think parts of hellblade 2 were cutscene at least, but alas it’s still not gameplay.

It makes sense from a 1:1 comparison right?
I mean why not throw in actual movies too if we follow your logic? Obviously TLOU2 doesn’t look as good as 1917.

Parts of Project: Mara look like they could be gameplay. The corridor shots focusing on the environment, primarily. PT had similar 1st-person that was gameplay, not unreasonable to think that could be the case with Project: Mara too.

To add to this, the character model in Project didn’t look otherworldly either (compared to Senua in HB2). A next gen PT Reboot should look exactly like Project Mara; gameplay and all.

Some probably. What is cool anyways? I was pointing out the absurdity of thinking Geoff not hosting a portion of E3 was somehow the "cool kids" not going to E3.
Sony not attending E3 = Kojima (geoff master) not attending E3 = geoff not attending E3.
Simple as that folks.
PS4 Pro is $399, you want better parts you will pay more. It should be a simple concept to grasp.
... unless they decided to go with 399$ price tag that did them wonders in current gen & decided to drop ps4pro price so it could make sense.

Parts of Hellblade 2, and most Of Project Mara look photo realistic, and look better than this, as does Rebirth.

For PS4 visuals, Tlou2 looks amazing though, especially the gameplay reveal.

There's cutscene character model shots in God of War and Uncharted 4 tht look as good as Hellblade. Hellblade doesn't impress me yet as Hellblade 1 gameplay was very restrictive and repetitive and you can tell why it looked so pretty bcus it suffered in other places.

That looks like a current gen title. Shadow of the Tomb Raider or Hunt Showdown come to mind. Battlefront 2's forests look comparable as well.

Then all we have two compare is a 2 second low quality gameplay gif, a year old internal trailer before they had PS5 in mind and a cross gen game in outriders?

That’d be PS3 all over again, I doubt they’d want to absorb that sort of cost again. I can’t see them losing anymore than $200 per console.

Talking about looks and sizes, I personally don't really care much about that. I would take the PS5 dev kit and would be more than happy with it, and same goes for XSX if I was considering it. The only problem with XSX is I think you should put something above it when you're finished to avoid dust collecting, and should NOT forget to take it off before using it, or just place it horizontally.
I'm definitely placing it horizontally. In fact I never placed any of my consoles vertically.

Lol, no. There are no character models as good as Senua in that Hellblade 2 trailer. Have you watched the 4k trailer?

Question: It‘s often been said that one of the reasons why consoles no longer reach a price point below 199 these days is due to HDDs, which don‘t fall below a certain price level (not to mention that they add bulk to a console). But what about SSD? Is there a possibility that the SSDs in these upcoming consoles could eventually end up costing Sony and MS less than HDDs? How about bulk? Are SSDs these days smaller than mechanical drives?

We’ll have to see but I don’t think they can get it that cheap. I’m expecting $499 at $100 loss. Maybe Lockhart will hit the magical $399 figure.
there is & will be no loss, worst case scenario breaking even with a 5$ profit, make sense lockhart at 399$ (again they are not losing a cent).
You have to understand that lower the price tag = million+ of units sold + psplus, profit from CD's, digital even more profit per sale etc...
If you controle people living room space you control economy.

Not with all the weather effects going on BF does not. It looks good, but not as "alive" as that.

And nowhere near The Book of The Dead Unity demo.

I have no doubt Frostbite will look fire next gen, they just need to work on their aggressive geometry LOD the engine employs. Reminds me of damned MMOs from the early/mid 2000's with that jank.

I've never heard this. Either way a 1Tb ssd would cost them more now than a 500Gb hdd cost in 2012-2013.
