And I'm really thinking its going to be 12 core, Red Tech Gaming said that his insiders informed that one of the consoles had chiplet design, and that was Xbox SEX if his (insider) memory was correct.
So the whole thing thickens, Microsoft may had the upper hand all along, as they really have been in a very close relationship with AMD, more than we think of Sony.

Remember that OG XBox was losing 115 bucks, when Sony had cut the PS2 price to 199 Microsoft followed up months later, their first profit day was with Halo 2.
Its not impossible that Microsoft could be wacky again to do this.

RDNA 2 is great for the industry even if 12TFs is below what I expected from a new-generation but I already accept it won't be better than that since early last year.

If they do $499, that would be wild. I'm thinking this beast is $599 after reading the article. Maybe we can now even toy around $549.99 as an option (still looks weird reading the price that way)?
They're going to have to be smart in their delivery on this if the price tag aims closer to $600. Lockheart imo has to be the cheaper entry point, and at a minimum, it can't be higher than $399. And I don't think it should be discless either according to what People were saying. You'd be in trouble there because you don't want People left behind with their physical copies.

They did that though with x1x and pro . They did it before even Sony announces pro . So I don’t know if they had 3 tf advantage , they wouldn’t do the same ?

My minimum expectation was over 13TF for a new generation... actually I expected around 14-15TFs.
But after RDNA disappointment reveal I realized they can't reach that in a console form factor.
That is now how MS does the things... when they know they are stronger they shot with Marketing all the time.
They are not sure this time.

Wasn't the PS4 pro shown in september 2016, with the X1X reveled in june 2017?
Microsoft, officialy, has no way of knowing what Sony is brewing, thus they would be stupid to present their console as the most powerful of the next generation.

I've always kept an mid range of and consoles (usually ps/nintendo). If these machines are both in the 12tf range, I don't see myself updating my gaming desktop for a long long time if at all.

My theory is Sony is not hitting 12TF and therefore will not tout teraflop numbers. But does it matter, no. They have amazing 1st party games. I'm playing Last of Us Remastered on PS4Pro and it still looks awesome! Who cares really at this point.
