So who will be sending videos of your ears 😂 😂 😂

So Microsoft can now market the XSX as the most Powerful console ever. 🤔

Bruh WTF, big fucking dissapointment. Not only for the hardware but the whole presentation itself, like they didn't show nothing. PS5 was gonna be my first next gen console this year but im gonna wait how its running and how it stacks up against Xbox. What a shame, really expected them to show atleast a demo of game with ray tracing.

So soon after base model's launch, though? That seems really risky.

Honestly I think @VFXVeteran might've been right about two models, but MS might launch a cheaper Lockhart down the line and Sony a stronger PS5 Pro. I don't see MS doing an XSX Pro unless a PS5 Pro just completely laps the XSX.

Can see both PS5 Pro and Lockhart happening in 2022, but not 2021.

It’s the only way I can even make sense of any of this... I’m actually in shock. I was 99% confident in my source, but didn’t expect things to be THIS bad.

Right. Well. Any minute now the spin machine will start up. So I just want to say, thanks for the chats and stuff guys, it’s been fun, some of the time. I enjoyed most of it. Sometimes. But it’s been... emotional 🤣

So, from my understanding:

- Better memory pool
- Substantially better SSD (first party games)
- Custom SPU to do the heavy lifting on Audio
- Slower CPU when compared to XBSX
- Faster GPU, albeit with less CU's

What's interesting is all the shenaningans coprossessors that will do some CPU and GPU lifting.

At the end of the day, this is a console where first party games will shine, but third party will not be as good.

Also, interestingly:

The PS4 is 40% more powerful than the Xbox One
The Xbox One S is 42% more powerful than the PS4 Pro
The Xbox Series X is 16% more powerful than the PS5

Not a massive difference.

Frankly, 36CUs is a sensible, slightly above conservative, approach to things.

Makes me wonder what the pricing would be. Sony could surely go a bit lower than MS.

Source? I don't recall Cerny saying it.

He said it at the very beginning. 16GB GDDR6

Console warring is moderated on both sides evenly. If there is anything egregious, report it. We can't see everything.
If I'm being honest, the moderation seems to be biased towards Sony fans. For one of many examples Tommy Fisher trolled and trolled on the Sony fandom side of things and wasn't moderated till his fake screenshot and was even brought back early. There were many, many other Sony fandom comments, posts that went unmoderated. Seemed skewed on that side if I'm being honest. Take that for what it's worth. Maybe my perception is inaccurate...but that's how I saw it.

They did, actually. 16GB GDDR6, 256-bit bus. We just don't know the bandwidth but I'd assume it's 512 GB/s.

Speaking of Tommy, guess he might've been a MS insider type of guy...or he just lucked out on the guess and convinced everyone they were an insider.

He said 16ggb ddr6 is enough when he talked about the ssd. So i guess that is kind of a confirmation

I told many people on here to not dismiss 100% true data...

and I got mocked for it, like many others.

btw. 10TF is still good, which I also said multiple times. the differences won't be dramatic in real world examples.
I'm just worried that they even clocked higher than the github tests which I didn't expect. I expected 2 additional active CUs to get to 10TF

the heat will be a real issue
You were right
Arrogant sony
Bad apu design (short-sighted)
Probably same tdp as arden
Only if is 399$ and for second console

Good post and the PS5 runs at higher frequency which makes the actual difference even smaller than 16%,
but sadly I think your post will go under in the wave of trolls and console war fanboys screaming about being disappointed about things they have no understanding of but just want to provoke people.
Let them. I'm gonna have a lot of fun with them. 10-15% extra gpu perf isn't enough to give someone a massive boost in visual fidelity and performance and sadly some in here have trouble understanding that. A few extra frames, maybe 5-7 and you just sacrificed almost 10% of your gpu advantage, switch foliage density up a bit(because lighting and ambient occlusion wouldn't fit in the remainder) and there goes the other 5-6%. But I'm assuming that the more wild and rabid fanboys will be screaming the phrase 'Sony PS5 is a failure' from the rooftops with the highest resonance possible until their vocal cords explode, ignoring the fact that the compute advantage of ones gpu will make changes that are so unnoticeable that you'll need a magnifying glass or telescopic vision to be able to perceive the difference. I'll let them have their meltdowns, I'll probably enjoy it too!!!

Cretinously credulous
So does the PS5 have dedicated ray-tracing hardware or not?
Didnt seem like it has. The talk seemed as if Cerny was saying that they will use GPU only for it, although in some unique ways and what not. Will be a huge bummer if not.

If I were a console player, I would save my money for the xbox and that's it, for sure I don't spend 1000$ for having both and swith on ps5 once a year at best
