NO!
Next thing will be tracking our phones, electronic bracelets and shit.
Fuck that man.

You are equating an employee checking to make sure you dont have a fever before entering the store using a handheld thermometer.....to tracking your phone and forcing "electronic bracelets" on you?

Is this pandemic fuckin your head up? I dont recall you being so unhinged before all of this popped off.

To those in the US, please take this seriously and prepare to be isolated for a couple of months.

Most people will be fine, but even if you carry it without symptoms you’ll probably infect 50,000 people just by yourself. It’s clear that a month from now this will look like a gigantic nightmare. Just do what you can to avoid contact and stay safe. Most of you will be fine anyway, but this is ripping through those over 60.

Having to care for a family member can be tough. Good on you for being willing to do it.
Yeah but I can't do much now with food scarce and broke again after taking care of bills. So shit just is just panicking me whereas I wasn't before.

I really think they should have handled it differently in who gets the money. I know most will disagree with me but trying seeing it from my perspective where I'm at a point if I can scrape 50 cents I'm relieved. My city is getting hit hard too with scarcity at least in my area.

This will hopefully pass soon but I doubt.

In 6 months or a year from now we are going to see all these numbers are BS.

We have all the asymptomatic people not being counted. We have countires testing different amounts of people. We know China has sent out defective tests and the CDC made defective tests, how many countries are getting bad results in their rush and panic? And we don't know when people got it so every "new" case itsn't really new, and we don't know who had it already and passed it.

And even deaths, wether its overcounting by including people who died "with" it and not "from" it, to cases like Italy where they are finding people dead in their homes. there could be over counting and under counting.

I was very concerned about this when the data [and videos] coming out of Wuhan were all we had. People passing out, journos getting disappeared, welding doors shut... and then Iran had people passing out, etc.

I was waiting to hear from Western countries before freaking out...

And... I have to wonder... why are we getting such shit numbers? Italy is clearly overcounting. Nobody is adjusting for normal death count. Nobody is talking about what percentage of the people dying had cancer and less than a year to live.

Instead, it is really starting to feel like the numbers are greatly inflated. We even have reasonable arguments that it's possible many of us already had it and lived [or died before people were testing for it]. Maybe?

I do see plenty of people wildly overreacting. Quarantines and lockdowns in America? Hell no. Tell us the numbers, tell us the precautions we should take. Let people make their own decisions to stay isolated, which many are. If anyone does something particularly stupid, like coughing on people intentionally, charge them with assault or terrorism.

I don't want to sound like a just the flu, bro, but it really is starting to feel like people are gripped by mass hysteria. Of course, two things can be true at the same time - it can be bad, and we can be hysterical... but the numbers we are being provided just don't add up.

Even people like HRC, talking about how the US has more cases than Italy... well, no shit. Do a population comparison and get back to me. And explain how China, where it spread before we even knew it existed, could possibly have had less cases [hint: imfuckingpossible]. And so it feels like we are being lied to. Media partly to blame, since they are clearly parroting Chinese propaganda.

Like, I'm not denying the pandemic. It is obviously happening. But i feel like I'm more in the middle of a propaganda war than a pandemic at this point. Why is our media cheerleading us doing 'badly', when in actuality we are doing surprisingly well? Why are so many people calling for martial law, a breakdown of our Constitution, and using bad math to get there [like comparing us to Italy's 60 million people when we are over 5x their pop? And we have Trump's experts essentially telling us to calm down, but the media won't listen.

Something smells fishy. I've got family all over the tristate area. Hell, my grandmother lives alone and is in her late 90s, so i'm concerned. I used to live in nyc so know dozens there. But mass quarantines over mixed messages. Hrm.

I used to think there was a small, but decent chance this thing was going to hit us incredibly hard. Still could happen, but i am increasingly wondering if someone [cough, cough] is engaging in a propaganda war, by overstating a relatively minor pandemic, against our economy.
I wouldn't have said that even 2 weeks ago. And my opinion has shifted in part because of how media messaging has pivoted. They are trying to make me fear bad math. If this was collapse level pandemic, they wouldn't need to fudge numbers.

Had a nervous breakdown today ans terrible panic attack last night.

Between the frustration that neither me or my father are getting any stimulus, lack of food at grocery stores and the whole situation I broke down. The worst is my dog seems to be getting worse and she's been making horrible messes that I'm having to clean constantly.

Last night I had some kind of panic attack. I felt very faint and literally like I was going to die. I haven't had one quite that bad before (I had in the past worse but that was from smoking weed which I don't do anymore)

I have tremors now because to add insult to injury, our Rug Doctor is leaking.

I'm seriously on the verge on a meltdown over everything.

Seriously screw the govt for not helping people who really need the money because they didn't file. I don't even really have an income so I don't and my dad is on fucking small amount of retirement and disability.

Shit sucks right now. And only getting worse.

It might be worth a shot to file tax for 2019 now. You don't have to meet qualifications to do so - anyone can do it, but it is just required when you make above a certain amount.

The government provides free e-filing software to everyone who makes under $65,000:

You might even be able to file for your dad.

Were the videos of those people passing out ever explained? That hasn't been happening anywhere else because of the virus as far as I know.

Don’t need conspiracy theories to explain the reaction thus far. Governments make decisions based on current information. That’s the information experts were offering at the time. Go watch the video I posted on the previous page. It’s speaking to one of the top medical statisticians/epidemiologists in the world

I saw several videos of healthy looking 20-40 year olds suddenly collapsing and not moving. Pretty sure Metokur had some, but that was months ago. Twitter nuked a lot of that as "fake news".

Metokur's videos are pretty good documentation of what actually happened rather than the media narrative and the WHO propaganda. I need to upload them to my Bitchute; I got most of them myself with Streamlink and ripped the rest from mirrors.

How sick will the coronavirus make you? The answer may be in your genes

Science’s COVID-19 reporting is supported by the Pulitzer Center.

COVID-19, caused by the new pandemic coronavirus, is strangely—and tragically—selective. Only some infected people get sick, and although most of the critically ill are elderly or have complicating problems such as heart disease, some killed by the disease are previously healthy and even relatively young. Researchers are now gearing up to scour the patients’ genomes for DNA variations that explain this mystery. The findings could be used to identify those most at risk of serious illness and those who might be protected, and they might also guide the search for new treatments.
The projects range from ongoing studies with DNA for many thousands of participants, some now getting infected with the coronavirus, to new efforts that are collecting DNA from COVID-19 patients in hard-hit places such as Italy. The goal is to compare the DNA of people who have serious cases of COVID-19 (which stands for coronavirus disease 2019)—but no underlying disease like diabetes, heart or lung disease—with those with mild or no disease. “We see huge differences in clinical outcomes and across countries. How much of that is explained by genetic susceptibility is a very open question,” says geneticist Andrea Ganna of the University of Helsinki’s Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland (FIMM).

It’s hard to predict what will pop out from these gene hunts, some researchers say. But there are obvious suspects, such as the gene coding for the cell surface protein angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2), which the coronavirus uses to enter airway cells. Variations in the ACE2 gene that alter the receptor could make it easier or harder for the virus to get into cells, says immunologist Philip Murphy of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, whose lab identified a relatively common mutation in another human cell surface protein, CCR5, that makes some people highly resistant to HIV.

Ganna heads up a major effort to pool COVID-19 patients’ genetic data from around the world. The idea “came quite spontaneously” about 2 weeks ago when “everyone was sitting at their computers watching this crisis,” says Ganna, who is also affiliated with the Broad Institute, a U.S. genomic powerhouse.

He and FIMM Director Mark Daly quickly created a website for their project, the COVID-19 Host Genetics Initiative, and reached out to colleagues who run large biobank studies that follow thousands of volunteers for years to look for links between their DNA and health. At least a dozen biobanks, mostly in Europe and the United States, have expressed interest in contributing COVID-19 data from participants who agreed to this. Among them are FinnGen, which has DNA samples and health data for 5% of the 5 million–person Finnish population, and the 50,000-participant biobank at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

The UK Biobank, one of world’s largest with DNA data for 500,000 participants, also plans to add COVID-19 health data from participants to its data set, the project tweeted this month. And the Icelandic company deCODE Genetics, which is helping test much of the nation’s population to see who is infected with the new coronavirus, has received government permission to add these data and any subsequent COVID-19 symptoms to its database, which contains genome and health data on half of Iceland’s 364,000 inhabitants, says its CEO Kári Stefánsson. “We will do our best to contribute to figuring this out,” Stefánsson says.
Another effort to identify protective or susceptibility DNA variants is the Personal Genome Project led by Harvard University’s George Church, which recruits people willing to share their full genome, tissue samples, and health data for research. Earlier this month, it sent questionnaires to its thousands of participants, asking about their COVID-19 status. More than 600 in the United States responded within 48 hours. “It seems that most people want to do their part,” says Church, whose group isn’t yet part of Ganna’s collaboration.

Other researchers working with Ganna’s initiative are recruiting COVID-19 patients directly within hospitals for such genomics studies. Italian geneticist Alessandra Renieri of the University of Siena expects at least 11 hospitals in the nation to give ethics approval for her team to collect DNA samples from willing patients. “It is my opinion that [host] genetic differences are a key factor … for susceptibility to severe acute pneumonia,” Renieri says.

Pediatrics researcher Jean-Laurent Casanova at the Rockefeller University, who specializes in identifying rare genes that can make healthy young people susceptible to certain serious diseases, is drawing on a network of pediatricians around the world to look for the relatively few young people who develop COVID-19 serious enough to get admitted to intensive care. “We study exclusively patients who were previously healthy” and under 50, as their serious COVID-19 illness is more likely to have a genetic basis, he explains.
In addition to genetic variants of the ACE2 receptor, scientists want to see whether differences in the human leukocyte antigen genes, which influence the immune system’s response to viruses and bacteria, affect disease severity. And some investigators want to follow up a finding, which a Chinese team reported in a preprint: that people with type O blood may be protected from the virus. “We’re trying to figure out if those findings are robust,” says Stanford University human geneticist Manuel Rivas, who is contributing to Ganna’s initiative.
The catastrophic spread of the coronavirus should soon increase the number of COVID-19 patients available to these gene hunts. And that could speed findings. Ganna expects the first susceptibility genes could be identified within a couple of months.

Hmmm. This seems alarmist.

In 2017, 70K people died from ODing alone. That’s 171 on average.

33K vehicle deaths in 2018 (90/d)

48K suicides (131/d)

515K homicides (1410/d)

Sooooo

No?

Edit: looking at his tweet and he’s an idiot. His tweet is US centric, but he’s counting the world. Moron.

Seeing your stories has been comforting. It’s obvious to me now that many of us are going to suffer terribly in the coming weeks and months. My thoughts are with you all.

This is a terrible, terrible time - but we ARE in this together. Know that you’re not alone in your suffering. Take care, and be kind. :)

And a similar graphic about three regions in Spain:

The "unexplained" deaths in those spikes is quite likely a combination of unreported covid-19 deaths, and deaths not directly caused by the virus, but that could have been prevented if the health system was not collapsing.

But i feel like I'm more in the middle of a propaganda war than a pandemic at this point.
Right?! So much misinformation and I’ve kind of become numb to it all. Bad virus? Oh well. Bad economy? Oh well. Increased loss of freedoms? Big deal. Wear a mask, don’t wear a mask? Is it in the air? Does it only affect old people? Was everyone just gonna die anyway? Who knows, who cares?!

Don’t go out? Not possible. I’m one of the ‘lucky’ ones who is still working albeit halfway across the country and not traveling home like usual to try and do my part. Why should I even give a fuck if I spread just a Chinese flu bro? Them oldies were gonna die anyway right? It’s the existing conditions that kill you not the kung flu right? I’m probably just asymptomatic, no big deal.

My company is fine- money is coming in, no layoffs and we’re still hiring and will come out the other end even better most likely but raises are being frozen because... *insert corporate nonsense* reasons. If I get sick, remember, I can use my PTO! They are even gonna work out a PTO ‘bank’ so people can donate their PTO!

Even though over 75% of the company is WFH if I catch this shit it will be directly related to doing my job that I am ‘lucky’ to have and I will be punished... by the same ones who have set forth guidelines that are impossible to follow- wash your hands with no water, use nonexistent hand sanitizer, clean everything (a whole bunch of stuff) after touching with a jar or two of wipes, maintain 6’ of distance but get the job done with no delays... all for the most essential service: to make money.

Fuck you. THEY are lucky to have us. The fucking atta boys aren’t able to be deposited. So since governmental agencies and my company are fine with me supposedly putting my life in danger so they can make money should I even believe this shit is that serious? Can I believe the media? Our leaders? The medical community? Who is right?

So yeah. I don’t know who/what is right and I’m tired of all of it.

At t least the memes have been on point 😉

I used to be sympathetic to this line of thinking.

Now that the disease is in full swing here, I can tell you that no one is over reacting. This is likely the worst thing to happen to any of us in our lifetimes.

God help us if we become another New York or Italy.

I am guessing the older patients are dying faster once they get COVID-19 and the younger people are sticking around longer. My guess is we'll see this trend younger and younger as more time passes, especially with the health care systems getting overloaded. I would guess patients in their 20's and 30's will probably end up mostly fine, but 40's and 50's are going to be higher risk.

This is correct.

Hey Siri I don't know what's happened with your situation but I'm still hoping you are doing okay. It's been a few weeks since the outbreak in your place, if you have a clean bill of health maybe the worst is over for you and your family/friends/coworkers. It looks like the numbers are going down in BC so hopefully that continues.

Seeing it first hand it really hits home how much of a crapshoot this disease is, A large number of previously healthy people are going to get really sick for a really long period of time if we don't intensify our current efforts to social distance and isolate. Many of them will pass away. The narrative that it only affects people with underlying diseases provides people with a false sense of security- the younger people dying from this have minor underlying diseases that are extremely common amongst middle aged people.

Right now my allergies are so bad I can't breathe at all through my nose.

Another reason why I have to be careful - because even I am not in great health but moreso I have to worry about mt dad.

This virus has turned out to be a lot worse than I thought.

All of your points are valid for discussion. It's funny the same people that said this was a 'just a flu' and it is a hoax are now telling us we need to start the economy in weeks not months. We have a federal government that is giving us false reassurances which confuses the American public. We don't know what to believe. Yesterday, it was a hoax. Today, I am a war time president. Tomorrow, we are opening up for Easter.

Although they have no understanding of math, these are the same people that are trying to discredit the numbers now. They will tell you that social distancing is not working in Italy, which is wrong. These people are only going to lead us down a path for more death. If you want to see of ton of refrigerator trucks and mass graves later, follow these people. Social distancing now or refrigerator trucks later.

Over 500 dead Americans today. By Easter, we will have over 2000 dead a day.

We needed to start preparing the United States in January. We didn't and thousands will be dead. We don't need millions to die because of more stupidity. There was enough of that.

We have data from the 1918 flu, where some cities socially distanced and some didn't. The cities that took early and aggressive action not only controlled the pandemic and deaths, but had better economies. St. Louis shut down early and Philadelphia did not. It's clear as day which city did better. The numbers don't lie.

And if you let this roam , you basically give this virus freedom to mutate ...

Don’t .

We have data from the 1918 flu, where some cities socially distanced and some didn't. The cities that took early and aggressive action not only controlled the pandemic and deaths, but had better economies. St. Louis shut down early and Philadelphia did not. It's clear as day which city did better. The numbers don't lie.

Amazing article, kinda sad we forgot these methods 🤪

I used to think there was a small, but decent chance this thing was going to hit us incredibly hard. Still could happen, but i am increasingly wondering if someone [cough, cough] is engaging in a propaganda war, by overstating a relatively minor pandemic, against our economy.
I wouldn't have said that even 2 weeks ago. And my opinion has shifted in part because of how media messaging has pivoted. They are trying to make me fear bad math. If this was collapse level pandemic, they wouldn't need to fudge numbers.

The problem is that the data we have is basically a snapshot of how it looked 2/3 weeks ago.

The people who have tested positive probably contracted the virus 1/2 weeks ago. The people who are dying probably 2/3 and maybe 4 weeks ago. There will currently be a large number of people pre-symptomatic and not currently in the numbers who are about to start getting worse and if the health systems are already starting to feel the strain now when another 40k+ people hit the hospitals and 5k+ or so need ventilators and some of them need ECMO what do you think the outcome will be.

This is what happened in Italy. The numbers did not look too bad but it was already too late by then because there is a large lag between the numbers we can see and the actual state of play now and in the near future.

Governor announces death of 33-year-old staff member who tested positive for coronavirus

A 33-year-old staff member of Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards has died from complications with Covid-19, the governor announced Saturday.

April Dunn served in the Governor's Office of Disability Affairs.

“It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the loss of our dear April," said Edwards. “She brightened everyone’s day with her smile, was a tremendous asset to our team and an inspiration to everyone who met her.

"She lived her life to the fullest and improved the lives of countless Louisianans with disabilities. April worked hard as an advocate for herself and other members of the disability community."

US Federal Bureau of Prisons announces inmate death in Louisiana from coronavirus

An inmate at a federal prison in Oakdale, Louisiana, died Saturday after testing positive for Covid-19, the Federal Bureau of Prisons said today in a statement.

Patrick Jones, 49, began complaining of a persistent cough on March 19. After being evaluated by the medical staff at the prison, Jones was transported to a local hospital where he tested positive for Covid-19, said the statement.

One day later, Jones was placed on a ventilator after his condition declined.

Jones passed away Saturday at the hospital. According to the statement, he "had long-term, pre-existing medical conditions which the CDC lists as risk factors for developing more severe Covid-19 disease."

President Trump has already directed federal prisons to increase home confinement to at-risk inmates in order to slow the spread of the virus, joining states like New York and New Jersey in the effort to avoid mass infection within prison systems.

Louisiana can't catch a break

the idea keeps floating in my mind that this will all become normal in the next couple of days and i'll be able to go out again

really weird accepting that this could very well be the whole fucken year

that is BONKERS

I was told by a great authority on this very website that we will see case reductions in a couple of days that are so amazing we'll wonder what this whole fuss was all about. They even wagered an account ban! Just you wait. Any day now.

Domestic flights in China's Hubei province resume

Domestic flights will resume in Hubei province, except in the city of Wuhan, from Sunday midnight local time, according to a statement from the Civil Aviation Administration of China.

Cargo flights will resume as well as passenger flights.

The Chinese government has been steadily reducing the restrictions on Hubei and other previously heavily affected provinces, as the number of coronavirus cases has continued to fall.

Today China reported 45 new cases, all but one of which came from outside the country.

Flights to and from Wuhan, the original epicenter of the virus, will resume at midnight on April 8 when the city’s lockdown is expected to be lifted.

Dude, these numbers are absolutely ridiculous. What the fuck is going on in the USA?

It is pretty simple.

Countries that took the South Korea and Germany approach of testing early, and in mass numbers, during the first week or two of the first case appearing in their country, are showing the results, with relative containment.

Countries that took the 'just the flu bro' approach of dithering for 6 weeks, like the USA (and to a lesser extent the UK) are now being butt fucked.

There is no mass conspiracy. It isn't complicated. If it had been contained early, as in SK, then Trump wouldn't be in this situation. Nothing he can do now to stop it, and I fear the UK might be in the same boat.

From your comment I can tell you don't really understand what's going on with this virus. Do you really believe all these global leaders are tanking their economies over bad math and hysteria? The math absolutely adds up.

The math doesn't add up in the propaganda. Why were we hit by countless articles and tweets comparing our hard total to Italy... we have over 5x their population. It is not alarming we have more cases than Italy, yet certain players [up to and including HRC] played it like it was a failure of our country.

Those articles are bad math in bad faith.

Then you have the issue of overcounting corona deaths.
Then you have the issue of not being able to trust China's numbers.

Or, for another example, few articles that are alarmist about numbers do the math and point out how many tests have been run. If an article doesn't break down how many people are being tested, comparing positive results from country to country is beyond meaningless.

This is all bad math. Does it mean there is no pandemic? Of course not. But it does mean, despite this being in the west for some time now, articles are routinely using clickbait trash math in a scaremongering fashion.

Nothing in the WHO report you posted contradicts what I am saying. Even assuming every number there is spot on [and i don't trust WHO numbers out of China].... that does not contradict my point that media is consistently using bad math to scare us. Every tweet and article claiming US is doing it wrong because we have more cases than Italy is proof positive of that.

And to answer your question, of course some leaders will hurt their country on bad economics out of fear and hysteria. That is without question. Just like some underreacted early [hugs in italy, dems telling people to go to parades], others will absolutely overreact unless you assume only the most extreme reaction in the entire world is 'correct'. Assuming that isn't the case, everyone over whatever imaginary line you draw is hurting their country/region due to fear.

Like i said, this feels more like a propaganda war than a pandemic. WHO has given me no reasons to trust them, and many reasons to questions them. Academics have modeled everything from mass death events to relatively minor bumps - in some cases, the same expert has done both, like the guy from the Imperial College [name slipping my mind, Neil i think]

Now, clearly, Corona is being weaponized at the political level. You can see that in US politics. It's obvious. It's a given.

And if we understand people are willing to politicize a virus for electoral gains... why wouldn't superpowers being waging a propaganda war as well? Regardless of whether you believe this is serious or not, it's effective:

If the virus is super contagious, but not particularly deadly, convince your enemy to shut down over it.
If the virus is far worse, convince your enemy it's no big deal.

And based on the actions of our media, if I were a betting man [and I am], I have to say I feel as if we are being pushed to overreact. Why in the hell are we shutting down everything? I ordered a pizza today and a guy in gloves put it in my trunk. Any store can do that curb service without shutting down, yet we're seeing forced closure. That reeks of overreaction.

Look at all the calls in this very thread for full shut downs and quarantines. Sorry, no. That is hysteria. We do not need our respective governments to keep us homebound at gunpoint. Strong recommendations are clearly working, and just because there are exception [like idiots at spring break] does not mean 99.9% aren't paying attention without the need for a cessation of our rights. Hell, for all we know keeping everyone quarantined just sets us up for a second wave as it is.

Well.... shit

I also didn’t see we got over 500 yesterday.
I can understand why you are confused. The wikipedia page says 513 homicides and below that number of crimes per 100,000 people. Not sure why it says this. Previous versions said 5.13, so someone has edited it.
I can assure you though you probably would not want to live in the US if there were 515k murders a year lol

It's interesting that you see mass hysteria. I see mass ignorance and denial.

Unquestioning acceptance might as well play into both in the context of the discussion. Take this quote from the report, for example:

China can now produce 1.6 million test kits for the novel coronavirus per week. The test delivers a result on the same day. Across the country, anyone who goes to the doctor with a fever is screened for the virus: In Guangdong province, far from Wuhan, 320,000 people have been tested, and 0.14% of those were positive for the virus.

Do you believe the numbers out of China being reported by the WHO? Why are they cagey with total tests conducted in the country? Here's the man that ran that 25 member team, Dr Bruce Aylward:

Inspires confidence...

360_borat_lebanon0109.jpg

The fatality rate was 5.8% in Wuhan but 0.7% in other areas of China, which China explained with the lack of critical care beds in Wuhan.

That 0.7% fatality rate has been completely swept under the rug by the media. I bring it up because 1) I think it's much closer to the CFR we'd see right now if we could test everyone quickly and 2) omitting such facts is what helps create mass hysteria. Major outlets, however, were downplaying this virus early on. Tucker Carlson conveniently gathered a few examples from some of the most respected sources (self-indulgent humor, sorry):

Now remember that those outlets spent three straight years successfully convincing tens (hundreds?) of millions of people into believing conspiracy theories and outright lies, so they have what it takes to herd the sheep when push comes to shove. Why'd they fail so badly here?

The Communist Party of China, the WHO that's in their pocket and the news media that covers for them... We never stood a chance, so let's just make the best of a bad situation. World leaders are doing the best they can with the tools at their disposal, can't blame them for the crappy hand they've been dealt. Like US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said, it's "a live exercise."

Yes, i agree that is one possibility. Doesn't really change my point. I fully expect emergency services to be overrun to some degree, since we have a pandemic. Assuming an actual pandemic, which i do, that is a given since medical infrastructure is built for load during normal time and basic emergencies, not pandemic level events. My issue is the media seems to actively be misrepresenting math, focusing on worst cases, calling for draconian solutions, and generally fear mongering.

Saying the media is overreacting does not mean we do not have a serious problem, it means im saying the media is overreacting, and as a result many people seem to have shut down any rational thought they may once have had out of mass hysteria and cabin fever.

Please stop over analyzing, this shit is bad there is no conspiracy, it’s not over reacted. If you let this you are looking at higher than Spanish Flu numbers ... why do you think everyone is freaking out?

And if you let this roam , you basically give this virus freedom to mutate ...

Don’t .

Don't tell me what to do.

I think everyone is freaking out because we are being told every possible combination of things. People fear the unknown. Our media loves to overhype for chaching. Cabin fever.

Pretending you know the numbers right now is exactly the problem. No, you don't. It depends on which article you read last. Which university paper is right. Which countries numbers are correct. We have no clue, and that is driving everyone insane.

I said nothing of conspiracy. The closest my post comes to conspiracy is mentioning propaganda, but propaganda is a fact of life, not conspiracy. The kung flu is clearly being wielded as a propanda weapon across the board.

What sort of outcome for you would vindicate the media's response though? If we were told that a new Spanish Flu was due to arrive, would you understand the hysteria? That killed what, 600k in the USA? No reason this couldn't do likewise, so I think it is a pretty fair response so far.

Perhaps the more the media do big this up, the more populations take note and actually try and take measures to mitigate the risks. If you underplay the severity, people are just going to casually go about their lives regardless, which we know is going to be catastrophic given the highly infectious nature of this virus and its mortality rate.

I don't pay much attention to the msm. We have plenty of hard data now as the virus has spread to pretty much every country on the planet. You don't have to believe the WHO report on China but it's accuracy is borne out from what's happening in all the other countries. The only significant discrepancy I see is in the number of asymptomatic cases. It serves now as a helpful summary.

As far as the U.S. is concerned; they absolutely shit the bed with testing. It took them forever to get it up to speed. Your country is in a world of hurt and if you don't believe it is now you will soon enough. The people calling for shut downs and quarantines have already seen this play out elsewhere and recognize the exponential growth of this disease.
