That was unexpected. Looks hilarious with a mix of the new enemies and stages with the retro characters, but that was a cool nod for the devs to add in. Still waiting for some gameplay impressions once the game releases before I pick it up, but this is pretty cool.

Too bad they don't have a Genesis edition for PC. I would've even taken the digital key in the box. That bitch looks spicy!

i notice that Max has glowing red eyes in the art ! so i assume that he's going to be brainwashed in the game and then you will face him as boss or something

This is a nice feature for those looking forward to SoR4, but as someone turned-off by the game's overall presentation, it's not the type of addition that makes me more interested in the product.

I will get this for sure but they need to apply proper scaling and cleaning for the retro sprites they look out of place.

Awww hell yes, my hype just went up some notches for this game now, liking the retro stuff & extra characters, would have been nice for an unlockable all retro mode or if the bad guys looked like retro sprites too, but never mind

Looking amazing as usual. I'll probably still use the new character designs, though. At least the first time through the game.

Not the same thing, it would've been awesome if they implemented it the way they did in Dragon's Trap.
Not based on an existing game, so that'd be an unreasonably high expectation. I do somewhat expect a pixel conversion for the rest of the game if it is modder friendly.

Man, I've been so up and down with this game. Some stuff looks good, others bad, but the inclusion of the retro stuff makes this a day 1 buy for me.

This is one of the smartest things they could have done.

I kind of was onto something I guess in the OST thread, as my idea wasn't that far from this. Only they went way above what I was suggesting. Brilliant.

Streets of Rage's OSTs are pretty small. If he's worried about fans, he should do the following.

1) Get all the original music from the Genesis games in there as unlockables.
2) Rerecord all the original OSTs using the best modern sound equipment you have. All 3 OSTs. This way you have all the old music, and then all the old music remastered and rerecorded.
3) Then write the real OST doing exactly what he wants without concern for what anyone thinks.

Put all of this in the game, along with lots of unlockables that pay tribute to the series' history. No one will complain.

Truth but I wouldn't want anyone misinformed into thinking it was the same seemless experience that dragon's trap was in relation to their retro mode.

Looking good, definitely going to get it.
Anyone know the name of song? Sounds like a “go straight” remix.
Would be nice Shinobi gets the same treatment.
