Super outside the box far-fetched idea. A digital delivery system (new ps-store/xbox store) where you can also sell/transfer/trade your "used" game licenses with the devs netting something out of those transactions as well. The logical next step in phasing out physical.

Likelihood 0.002% but at least that would be teh future.

That's one of the best wishful thinking around here, and would love it! I have plenty of used games that I would rather sell for dirt cheap for my friends in a giveaway manner.

I see the usual suspects on twitter already saying the new PlayStation Studios brand is the proof that Sony will start releasing it's first party games on PC.
I was also thinking... if first party games will have the new logo, does that mean that MLB The Show (that will go multiplatform next year) will have the PlayStation Studios brand and also be on Xbox :messenger_dizzy: this is the most ambitious crossover ever

They already have that awkward moment in Fifa games, here's FIFA 20 on X1X:

The reason why is that Sony PlayStation is the official partner of the UEFA Champions League (most watched sport event in the world) since 1997 in real life:

So I have my own little theory of what Sony is calling "it´s special sauce" or whenever they mention that they haven´t revealed all of PS5´s features yet.

Ever since Sony dropped the price on PS Now a couple of months ago and introduced higher quality games to the service each month, I got the feeling that this is not the final stage yet. Last week we also got the news that games can be tested before you purchase them on the PSN-store. This obviously hints at the possibility that they will use PS Now for this.

Given the fact that streaming will be more and more important and the competition is already gearing up, it´s own services, I´m confident to believe that this is also the direction that sony will go. At least in some form.

So my guess is that Sony will introduce a new feature where every game that you buy (digital or physical) you will automatically be able to choose how you want to play it. Either you prefer to go the traditional route and install/download it or you can stream it and have instant access to it. It´s the ultimate freedom of choice for players and sets them apart from the competition.

This could be either added to PS plus / PS now to add value or they will go down the road where they simply combine both services into one ultimate package.

Regarding the Dorito Popes show later; if its an informative hour or so on Epics new engine - I'd be happy with that. A precursor of what's to come.

Psnow ultimate has been a rumor for over a year now and it's common sense thy will do something and include Psnow somehow. That was in the same rumor/thread tht mentioned that Psnow ultimate could come with dedicated servers for games.

Haven´t seen that particular rumor before. But yeah, having one big attractive package that combines PS Plus and Now sure seems like a no brainer to combat gamepass.

Maybe it’s not Unreal 5 but Decima being released to the masses.

Think it's more likely to be EGS related. Has it been announced where HZD will release on PC? Might be an EGS exclusive.

I'm glad for most of that, but ND losing 70% of senior staff to the competition is not something that should be ignored.

Why don't their contracts include a non-compete clause?

Is this based on a Kotaku article that states 14 non lead designers (70%) left the studio after Uncharted 4? Because that's where the tracks lead to.

But why would Hermen be excited about an update to Unreal Engine?

He's happy to go out and get a haircut now at the end of the quaratine. People read too much into instagram posts.

Hermen saying todays going to be a good day when Geoff is promising an hour event today and IGN hyping an announcement for today seems very coincidental is all I’m saying.

Yes. It's based on that infamous article.

Well then it's not 70% of the senior staff. The number is 14 non-lead designers who left after Uncharted 4. Just put things in context and suddenly the sky won't be falling anymore.

We will see what impact that had on The Last of Us 2. Naughty Dog as a studio wants to be on the cutting edge of big game development, and understandably that won't be the place to work for the rest of your life if you can't take the pressure.

But why would Hermen be excited about an update to Unreal Engine?

I'm not sold on the idea that this showcase is about the Unreal Engine. It might also be, but people are focusing too much on that when Epic is more than that now.

I think Hermen might be excited about HZD on PC being shown for the first time.

If it does (it will) that would put it ahead of the game boy and only behind the DS and PS2 lifetime. Imagine if they'd cut price to $200 in 2018

200 will be insane which thy will probably do once psv drops. What ppl don't understand is there is a whole demographics outside the bubble of well off countries where people don't make alot of money and have to wait years to get a console that costs hundreds. I had a friend on psn tht lives in peru and just got a ps 4 because he couldn't afford it all these years. He is always late to transition and there are alot of others like that, millions of ppl. Drop the price and millions more will come, it's going to happen.
