10/10Ryan is clearly out of touch with the masses. Releasing a new console is all about making the most powerful machine the world has ever known so you can play games you've already played or games that could be played on consoles that already exist. Why would anyone want to invest in a console to play games they can only play on that console?

Nope its been around for a while since a tweet from Neil showed the female character from the flaming car trailer and said something aling the lines of "Welcome A___ to the last of us cast"
People theorized right away that the blank letters spelt Anna which is Ellies mothers name which you find out in the last of us 1
but im not going to lie, dlcfor tlou2 which you play Ellies mom and it plays into the continuity of revenge and hate along the same path of ellies revenge story would be fire.

Kinda bummed though. I was hoping that there are still 1st party games for PS4 outside Gotsu and Tlou2. Lead me to believe that they went full throttle after 2017 with the PS5. I think HZD2 and ratchet was in development for PS4 could have been cross gen.
That led to 3 years of silence. I hope next time they won’t announce games far too early. Last of Us part 2, Days gone, Gotsu, death stranding and dreams.
Nevertheless I hope PS5 event will deliver.

I can understand your excitement. Until now, many of the Series X games you were shown can be played on a PC or a PS4. Some of them for years even.

For sure there will be multiplats in the event. But I'm more excited for the exclusives since they are focused on the system itself. They should give us an early peek at what next gen should look like.

An hour long presentation? I was expecting something more substantial. I believe their PS4 reveal was over two hours long. I guess if they're packing their hour with nothing but games, it won't matter, though it does lend itself against long gameplay stretches.
But - June 4th is my birthday. Nothing stops the hype now.

Sounds like this is just one of their planned reveal events and will be focused on games so the pricing and hardware design reveal and release date announcement will come later is my guess. Just a guess though.
Also, reveal events are rarely going to have many, if any, long stretches of gameplay footage. They’re more about showing as many games as possible to show people the system is worth buying. Longer looksat gameplay tend to come later, probably even more so now that they have started doing State of Plays for individual games.

This year is the 25th anniversary of the PSX in the US. They'd be incredibly stupid to not cash in on that, but given Jim Ryan's past comments about ancient games it wouldn't shock me if they forgot.
