I have a question. All these devs telling numerous journalists that the ps5 is this amazing console, and yet Digital Foundry has heard no such thing.
the only thing they got from devs was that its cpu was being downclocked in order to run the gpu at 2.23 ghz.
you would think DF of all people would have devs feeding them these impressions.
I trust in guys like John and Richard (Alex only when talk about games in PC) but yeah I also have the same question.
I mean is probably Sony had problem is maintain its clocks for the first versions of the dev kit but is not logic to think than
something you heard from a third dev in an early phase of the dev kits still be true later.
I am thinking they just specially Ricard are sceptic about if the bandwidth and other stuff in PS5 is relevant as other dev said so for this reason he
won't repeat when they heard something similar.
I mean is okay if you don't want to repeat something good before you see it with your eyes the problem is when one of the members love to
insist than the SSD will not improve nothing related to the graphics (you know who) and then saw the demo of Epic and saw that was not true.
I mean its analisis are the best we have but any of this guys is a dev currently working in the industry for AAA game so one thing is analize other
is believe you understand the dev kits from both sides without even work in them.
Any person is bias doesn't matter what but when one the biggest companies in the world invited by second time to reveal its new console paid all
related to you travel and the other only give an interview with its Architect is probably you without intention make you see better one side and believe
more easily all the good stuff from one side.
Like believe without question from part of Richard than have games created for two generations of consoles will not affect the goals of each first party
(John was not agree) while you ask the uncomfortable questions to the other side, remember he asked to Cerny about the minimum clock number if
a heavy workload happens for long period of time, Cerny replied that kind of workload is not realistic and doesn't exists even in PS4, I don't know why
Richard ask that question if already should know that kind of workload are far to be common even in AAA game.
Other example of that is the demo of Gears 5 in XSX DF believe 100% that demo was exactly as Xbox said, a demo with higher settings than ultra in pc
running even with RT running to 60 fps but instead you doubt when Epic says that level of fidelity was only possible in PS5 for the architecture of the SSD/IO.
Note: I remember when Alex said in all certainty that the framerate could not be released in the viewport of Unreal, I almost fall of my chair
laughing when I read that, any person who works with Unreal Engine knows how to release that limit of framerate but looks like Alex only run tech demos
in his PC.
