UFC 250: Nunes vs. Spencer

Didn't really see a point in a poll but can add for lols (famous last words?). Last vid added as he's got a few fans here.

Haven't had a chance to follow any news, but will catch up.

Some good matchups

I think Spencer is too tough for her own good and is going to absorb hellacious punishment . I’m goin TKO for Nunes R4. Spencer might find a little success grappling but not much

I think Cody bounces back vs Raphy. I’ll go KO in the 2nd

Aljo decision over Sandhagen

Magny over Rocco Martin

Suga Sean over Wineland

Is it me or spencer looks gigantic compared to nunes? And nunes is even taller...

Maybe it is just the fat on spencer...

Spencer is a big girl. Legit 145er. She has great grappling skills. In the end I expect her to take a huge beating but she might get Nunes to the ground a few times in the process.

Cody has the potentials to be the best bantam of all time, his match against cruz was PURE MAGIC.

Cody's performance against Dom is one of the best I have ever seen. His movement was godlike in that fight. Not sure what happened to his footwork after that but it seemed to regress.

I really hope Cody bounces back

Nothing happened to his footwork, he was winning against the little blonde snake before the unfortunate ko, and the 2 fights after thwt he was already in full hulk-mode...

If he can re-learn his style of piecing up people with patience, no one can stop him in that division, maybe petr yan...
And tbh, i miss his horrible shit talking, he was part of the charm.

Spencer...call me crazy but i would hit her with proper dressing and make up, she looks kinda sweet.

Wait, how did Garbrandt get back to back fights with Dillashaw, after going down in the 2nd in the first fight??? :messenger_grinning_sweat:

And Garbrandt/Assuncao seems to be set up as a "lose and you're fired" fight...whoever loses is probably getting the boot unless it's a FOTN. Both are coming off of multiple losses in a row.

Wait, wtf...a good chunk of the top guys @ bantamweight are all coming off of loss streaks. What on earth is going on in that division?

It was a somewhat odd case of an immediate rematch. I don't remember exactlly what was going on in the 135 landscape then but I remember the major basis for the rematch being that Cody had TJ in trouble in the first round

There was something else going on back then, I don't remember, that made other 135 fights not as appealing

shrugs

The way she demolished ronda is almost as good as khabib raping conor without lune or any loss of kevin lee...

i think this card is gonna low-key deliver.

i was not aware of heinisch vs meerschaert, this is a good scrap.

also magny vs rocco martin, not bad.

I'm trying to hype myself for this card and it just doesn't pull at me. May watch the fightpass/ESPN stuff and then catch the other fights later. Depends on if a few buddies actually are excited enough to split the cost.

The Sterling/Sandhagen fight is a good fight, O'malley/Wineland has potential for sure too.

I like Alicia Spencer, she really gained a lot of respect from me after her Cyborg fight, she really showed she deserves to be in the division, and she's nice and likable enough. I kinda have a low-key crush on her. But c'mon, Nunes is the arguable GOAT( I still have a soft spot for Cyborg and think THAT rematch not happening if a fucking SHAME to Woman's MMA in general) and hasn't had nearly the issues as the other GOAT(Jon Jones) and she's a good champion for the UFC. Either way Nune's is the shit because she fought her way to the top and she has my full support and deserves her accolades.

On Undercard:
Ian Heinisch/Meerschaert I feel are being overlooked as a good fight. Chase Hooper too has been doing some awesome awesome shit in his last few fights and has a ton of heart and I just like watching the kid. I also could have sworn I've seen Jussier Formiga in some good fights in the past.

ALSO, ONLY 1 Light Heavyweight fight? 1? Not even 1 Heavyweight?!?!?!

Overall though, I'm just not EXCITED for the card. I'm glad it's happening, but I don't think I'll pay for it.

Rousey era was like the Liddell era. People didn't know better...then they got the fuck beat out of them multiple times. :messenger_grinning_sweat:
You should watch some of Liddel's fights, they are fucking awesome. He deserves every bit of credit he has. He beat Overeem in 03'. Overeem is still fighting competitively NOW 17 years later. Or Silva or Coutoure or Tito, he was a beast. Chuck Liddell is fucking awesome.

Trust me, I've seen em all. I think I may have seen every fight that the UFC has ever put out? I'm not 100% as there were some stinker cards out there. But in general it would be hard to find a pro MMA fight since 2000 that I haven't seen.

Chuck was good in his time; but he was never the beast he was sold and hyped as. He had a great style for the time, which made him a sellable star.

The lack of Chuck respek is making me sad. 😢

Let’s see, Amanda is just steamrolling that division. Hopefully she is challenged 🤷‍♂️

Cody, such a frustrating fighter. Very talented hands and footwork. Great head movement. He has a lot of boxing that most ufc guys just don’t touch. But he’s such an idiot. He tries to bang with dudes and he’s not that fighter. His fight against Cruz was a work of art, it’s sad to see a guy repeatedly let his emotions get the better of him.

I barely know any of the other fighters other than O’Malley and I’m just learning about him.

Normally I have an upset alert beeping in my head the day of a a PPV but I’m just not getting any vibe that Spencer really stands much of a chance. She’s a talented grappler and has a good chin but this would be one of the most shocking upsets I can remember if she somehow pulls it off.

I didn't think she'd last the first round against Cyborg and she went all 3 so she definitely has the grit to do it. But I agree overall that Nunes is just another class of fighter that really only Cyborg is on the same level with. I really wish Daddy Dana would do a Bellator vs. UFC Woman's fight and let them run that fight back. And yes, if Spencer pulled it off tonight, it'd be a bigger upset than when Holm's beat Rousey.
