Real life which is infinite detail as its real life, downsampled to film, and again to you tube, and again by my screen grab. But the source material was infinite is the point.
High quality assets look more photo realistic, resolution is secondary is the point.
That is the direction of next gen IMO, and higher assets will look 2 steps above engines using current typical game assets on whatever platform.

it’s absurd to simply call that a 720p image. That’s like rendering a game at an infinitely high internal resolution and outputting at 720p. That would take an infinite amount of GPU power. Asset quality is not rendering resolution, nor output resolution. PS5 games will not look like that. Nor any games, ever, unless we solve quantum computing.

I think you’ve just discovered Photogrammetry, go play the Battlefront reboot. Games a bit old. But honestly the rocks look similar to the UE5 demo. The difference infinitely fast SSDs could make when Combined with a perfect system to facilitate it, would be custom authoring of assets for any given amount of screen space on the fly. That should look great, and could even help preformance, but won’t fundamentally change much of what we’ve seen. Essentially, everything should look it’s best at every distance, including the potential of much closer than most assets typically do. The extreme close up of rocks was the most impressive part of the demo. It will not make games look like photos.
You don’t report, the mods tell you to report. You report, the mods tell you to get fucked. I have never had a report come back with anything but snark. I’ve never seen a complaint in a thread be met with anything but snark. It’s not an issue of the mods not seeing

You know, I will say I've had all my reports come back to me and have yet to have a snarky comment but as somebody who is buying both systems and isn't terribly invested in either "team" my report messages are pretty basic. "Console warring" being the main thing I type when I report either an Xbox or Sony post. What do your report messages sound like? You get 100% of what you give. If it's a snarky whine report message and you report everything, I can imagine getting some snarky back. Remember, the mods are humans too and I cannot imagine seeing the whine on either side day to day.

Today, someone got banned from a thread for “conspiracy theories” another poster literally had multiple posted alleging and discussing a conspiracy , so I reported them because apparently you can’t even hint at it and they directly said it. Probably a bit petty by me. But hey, someone got banned for what they openly did, so it’s an open and shut case? Nah, snarky reply about how it’s not the same, with no moderator listed.

Were there not several pages of PS trolls getting dunked on and thread-banned for fanboy behavior? Yet we have this narrative that GAF is conspiring against the Xbox brand and the mods are out to get ya.
When this got pointed out, instead of reflecting on the pettiness of the behavior, a great sperg-out occurred which resulted in a longtime GAFer rage-quitting.

Cerny is a genius in successfully taking away the narrative from TFLOPS, GPU, RESOLUTION, RAYTRACING, FRAMES PER SECOND, COMPUTE UNITS and other graphical metrics that always has been the tradition of next-gen console discussion. Xbox Series X, does have a great SSD, and is fast, but the sum of all its components will most likely output better graphics overall.

It's a choice Cerny made. He could have chosen the approach of MS too. And compared to a few weeks ago I think more and more people realise Cernys approach makes a lot of sense and can result is some really cool new games.
