The whole Lockhart stuff is so bizarre, we know it's real, and it's gonna be a cheaper SKU but for some reason they don't want to confirm it officially. If the August event is true, then I expect the July event to be completely about the games and the pricing to be revealed in August event.

Sony would probably reveal the price of PS5 by then. Quite the chicken game being played here.

It'll be interesting to see who is going to be the first to reveal a price in August.

Not sure how true this is but it won’t surprise me.

Lol I say this jokingly, sort of.

DF would be like

Richard: The X series has nice elevators which arent even in the PS5 version, they add a really nice touch to the game, dont you think so john

John: they could have put them in there because of load times

Richard: They offer a nice chance to set the controller down and relax the fingers.

Oh my!

June 11th will be PS5 “Future of Gaming” event.

June 12th will be The Last of Us Part II embargo lift.

All the reviews of TLOU 2 will be out at that time just 11 hours after the PS5 event, so to me, I’ll be seeing them all on the same day, I am not ready, I am not fucking ready! 😂

Nah - the xsx hasn't got a sufficient power (or memory) lead for that jump. it'll get +4 fps at the same res with the 15% tflops advantage.
People think XSX gpu is 18% more powerfull which is not true at all. It is much less than that. This is mainly because with same number of ROPs and Geometry Processors, PS5 is faster. PS5 also has faster and higher bandwidth cashes due to haih frequency. PS5 might also have higher number of ACEs because it has to be compatible with PS4. The ACEs run at higher frequency as well. The cashe scrubers also optimizes the cahes bandwidth.
People will be shocked when DF comparsions pops up this holiday when they see the the small difference or when PS5 ending up with very close resolution and more stable fps.

How has the pandemic affected your launch plans?

Early on, as we were starting to deal with people working from home, there were a lot of questions about what was going to happen with the supply chain and testing our hardware.

But when I look at the hardware production now, I feel really good.

We have test kits at home and we're all using them, so we can ensure that everything's working the way it should.

We're also making good progress with the software platform that we've built to ensure the games run well.

And with regards to the supply chain, it looks like builds of the consoles will be uninterrupted.

We probably had a couple [of] weeks missing in our testing cycle, just as we got up to speed with things.

But I feel like we'll be able to absorb a lot of that into the schedule, and I feel really good about our autumn launch.

Interesting indeed on the 'Autumn' wording there.

And a game designed for PS5 would be not playable on xsx.

We might have a Win Win situation here for Future Ps5 owners.

Equally good multiplats if not better If they take advantage of SSD and I/o system for higher quality assets, zero load issue and no tricky game design decisions to fake load screens.

And then You Will have exclusives that Will be even beyond than never before

Where are you getting that info from - hopefully not github? And what is the PS5 devkits solution for debugging - if they don't have twice the retail unit's memory to be able to observe without interfering?

About the ram modules being 32 lanes there's a few places but here's one:
Can't remember where I got 64 lanes per memory controller TBH. But it's really not a factor here, for example it can be as I said 4 x 64bit or 8 x 32bit still comes to 256bit (lanes) for PS5. As XSX memory is 320bit wide (64bit more than PS5) so it can be 5 x 64bit or 10 x 32bit memory controllers
I mentioned won't be possible to get 32GB on PS5 based on what was said earlier that 4GB GDDR6 modules aren't available... If infact they are available then I take back what I said, yes can do 32GB without APU changes
I don't know how they've implemented more ram on the devkits, I agree they need that overhead for debugging. Maybe it's actually extra hardware in the devkits for monitoring/debugging what the baseline console is doing??

Hopefully there'll be a 4K, maybe 60fps video released some time after, or at least higher quality/bitrate trailers for each piece of software shown.

As for the audio, I'm guessing they'll be using a general HRTF for the stream, which should at least give a decent experience for most people. Hopefully they put a disclaimer for those whose HRTF profile sits outside their generic profile.
