Music to my ears. I never understood the bs narrative "oh Sony showed games during E3 years away" no Sony would show upcoming games as well as games few years away to pique interest and I would love it!!! Thts what E3 was for, not to show same few games every year over and over.

This is Sony's E3 done right aka Playstation experience :)

Urbanista, Pioneer, Samsung ...

Man those are the new cellphone buds, skip them. Any cheap ass stereo headset would give you a great idea of it. Something over ear.

My old school Xperia Z3 (Sony 410c) headphones still make way superior sound, and it's cheap. But better wait and grab the new PS headset to be safe after PS5 release.

People are saying Twitch. I know the PS4 Event app will sign you into the Twitch feed. So just depends on your prior experiences with live stuff on Youtube. I'm going to try Twitch.
From previous experiences, YouTube feed has a few seconds delay compared to Twitch's. As I am watching this and typing to my group on WhatsApp, I don't want anyone telling me things before I can see them.

Ampere's Piers Harding-Rolls expects PS5 to sell 66 million sold by end of 2024, compared to 37 million for Series X

jpg

Harding-Rolls expects Sony and Microsoft's sales to show a slight decline with the new generation, selling 103 million units combined through the end of 2024, compared to the PS4 and Xbox One's 109 million combined sales in a comparable stretch of time.

As for how that number breaks down, he expects the PS5 to have an installed base of 66 million by the end of 2024, compared to 37 million for the Xbox Series X.

However, Harding-Rolls doesn't believe the difference in sales pace won't be as pronounced early one, projecting the PS5 to sell 4.6 million units this year compared to 3.3 million for the Xbox Series X.

At launch, he expects both systems to hit price points in the $450 to $500 range.

i would be disappointed if we get Metal Gear Solid instead of Demons Souls. bluepoint were teasing a little bit Demon Souls.

the same as Insomniac teased a lot of Resistance, so not sure why people expecting Ratchet and Clank.

For me it would be the other way around. Never cared for Souls games.. And there are much better games to remake then Demon Souls in my opionion.

I agree for Resistance though :messenger_relieved:

Yup, that's another reason I'm going for Sony's classic professional studio headset, at least it'll serve me for video editing. But I'm planning for Sony WH-1000XM4 when they launch honestly, but might try the Sony MDR-7506 first wired through DualSense.

People were saying that 4k/120 wasn't happening, as the article was a little vague. This tweet plainly states 4k/120, which is news, so i was asking if the tweet had been posted.

I wonder how many games we are actually gonna see at 120/4k
I have a 100hertz tv so...

I currently have the Sony Golds but plan on upgrading to whatever new itinerary thy come out with during ps5. I am happy with my Golds.

Exactly, before I go all in I just want to see the immersion tht the wheels provide before I go crazy. If I like it at some point I'll Def upgrade.
It's a game changer, man! Being able to feel the weight of each car, and point them exactly where you want to go adds so much to the immersion. It's honestly hard to go back to a controller once you experience it.

I've only seen him about 750 times. I think I'll change the ending if I continue

🔥🔥🔥It was a fucking epic movie made better because I grew up on marvel and had the infinity gauntlet series of comics as a teen. To see tht realized was pure epicness. They did the comics justice.

I hope we get a really deep take on genosha in xmen when thy had enslaved all the mutants tht would be dopeeeee

Good News: You'll still be happy until 2027 with those gold by the way. Mark Cerny, the magician, would make most headsets worth your money. No need to spend big for fake 5.1 and 7.1 Channel or for the inferior Dolby Atmos. :messenger_winking_tongue:

4K@120Hz is the upshot of Series X games being (currently) tied to Xbox One hardware that isn't really mentioned.

There are people that pretty much every generation say this is the generation where we get whatever resolution at 60Hz, and it never happens outside of last generation's games being remastered.

PS3 could have run PS2 quality games at crazy resolution and frame-rate.
PS4 could and did run PS3 quality games at full resolution and nailed on 60 FPS.
Even with a mild intergenerational buff, PS4 Pro could run PS4 games at 60 FPS.
PS5 could run PS4 quality games at 4K@120Hz.

Xbox Series X being tied to Xbox One could be a blessing in disguise for those that care about pixel density and frame-rate more than more detailed assets and lighting effects etc

I am getting really pissed off right now.

I've tried various 3d audio video clips (and I found this to be the best to give me a solid orientation of where the sounds are coming from) and I've tried four different earphones and one headphone.

FOR THE LIFE OF ME, I CANNOT PERCEIVE 3D AUDIO.

I can understand the sound coming from the right ear or the left (of course) but I cannot perceive a solid fix in locations between 'left', 'left front' or 'left surround'. Left sounds a bit more muffled than 'Left Front', but other than that, I do not understand where exactly in the left the sound is coming from. Heck my TELEVISION'S speakers gave me a better understanding of something sounding BEHIND my TV set, rather than the earphones themselves.

And I hear comments from people on YouTube claiming that they listen to perfect 3D audio with 5$ earphones, and it's pissing me off!! I even heard the infamous barbershop 3d audio clip, and I wasn't impressed in the slightest. My 5.1 Dolby system does a much better job at giving me the illusion of real audio coming from all around me.

After this, I'm hesitant on spending 150$ on the PS4 platinum headphones when I don't think I'll understand the difference.

The barbershop one was pretty impressive, sucks that it doesn't work for you, did you try closing your eyes when listening? I feel like when I close my eyes with the barber one it really felt like I was sitting in there, especially with the clippers.

Do either of these work for you:

The new Samsung 980 Pro SSD is set for release before the end of August, at least that is the latest from a well-known leaky Samsung Twitter account.

The upcoming Phison E18 controller, however, is supposedly capable of offering up to 7,000MB/s of throughput over the PCIe 4.0 interface, getting dangerously close to maxing out the theoretical limits of a M.2 x4 socket.

Perhaps a potential expansion drive for the PS5?

Bad news. You have to send your ear to Cerny.

Is going to be better :messenger_face_screaming:

I'd be surprised if we saw anything better unless Sony first-party studios have been working on the same technology as Epic for just as long. What Epic showed was still a work in progress. It's beyond cutting-edge. This generation should have games that surpass it, but I'd be surprised if we have launch titles that do unless what Epic was doing has been known about for a few years already on the inside.

The good news is Epic will release the source code for it all anyway, so it won't take as long for in-house engines to come up with their own Nanite-like solutions.

I'm hoping for binaural audio on this level. I watched this a while back when I bought headphones to use with the PS5, and I legit had to take my headphones off, because the knock on the door sounded so real.
