I must say I like what I'm seeing from all the current gen consoles; however, Nintendo's been amazing. BotW2 is a definite.

I guess I don’t know what I expected from EA

EA is like that thot that's only semi-hot, but surrounds herself with thirsty virgin nerds so she feels like the hottest girl in the world, but then every once in a while you happen to be "chosen" by her and while all the pent up simping makes you finish business, it feels really bad afterwards and you realize "ugh, w-WHY?!". You then leave her vicinity, promising not to fall again, but eventually your own thirst keeps accumulating again while your actual dream girl keeps telling you "here, you can take a photo of me, you entitled man baby". And so after enough time passed, and in the right situation, in a badly lit location, you happen to encounter thot again and start thinking "Hm, she's kinda hot ...", and thus the circle of disappointment begins anew.

Reminder that Paper Mario is the only game on the Switch' release schedule with a tangible date right now.

For the currently most popular system.

In its supposed peak year.

At a time where people are willing to spend more on games.

And after consolidating their console- and handheld-teams into one.

"B-but Corona ...!" - tell that to all the other publishers releasing and announcing new games everywhere.

I will write a lengthy rant later this year if not one of these three things happens this year:

1.) New Monolith Soft-game announced + teaster trailer
2.) Shin Megamit Tensei 5 full-meat trailer + release date
3.) Breath of the Wild 2 releases in 2020 after all

That's the bare minimum expectation. Screw shitty old ports and collections, screw Mario 3D World, Pikmin 3 and Metroid Trilogy HD - I want new, ambitious games and I demand them like the entitled man-baby (TM) I am. It's unfair that only the super-fanboys with lowest expectations get their game announcements all the time. You have fun with you silly, cartoony time wasters. But let me and the people who bought a Switch for BotW, Skyrim and Xenoblade 2 have something, too. All we got is a remaster this year :/ God, I swear if they make a big deal about a shitty ARMS-character being added to Smash Bros. Ultimate. All 3 ARMS-fans will care, congrats.

I'm getting very demoralized here. I keep waiting for some Mario ports or something good. I don't like Smash, Pokemon or AC this year has been dry. Xeno is the only game I bought I think. I've been waiting for a killer direct and now we get another boring Smash presentation. Ugh.

You will play your re labeled 3 year old soccer game and enjoy it.

I don't know why you're so surprised, we knew the Arms character was coming in June.

Just to warn you, we're going to get another Animal Crossing video this month too ;)

really hope we get that farming update. give us something other to do in the game that the fishing bug grind.

It's not all bad. We still have potential GotY Deadly Premonition 2 coming up soon!

I'm honestly about to buy the first game so I can catch up. But it's way too expensive still. Hm.

I will forget that and I will complain about it.

Same, we might get second demo that transfer the save file to the full game.

I only played about 5 minutes of the demo that's about all I needed before I put it down. I am saving for retail. Loved everything about it. Art was gorgeous.

Since you know I love Monolith Soft, I want to express my sadness/anger in regards to that:

The last new game Monolith Soft released was Xenoblade 2 in 2017. No, Torna is just DLC to that, and it doesn't matter that Nintendo dishonestly released it as a stand-alone, because playing Torna first ruins both itself and the maingame. It's not a separate game, stop claiming it. Then Xenoblade Definitive Edition released, but it was just a remaster of an old game. Yes, Future Connected is new, but it's short and, while nice, not that meaningful.

So, since 2017 we haven't heard of any of Monolith Soft's big new projects. Let me tell you: That fukkin' sucks :(

I know we'll eventually get an announcement, but PLS WHY can't it be now rather than later?!

3 years since their last new game released
3.5 years since said game was announced
4 years since the new medieval action-rpg ip was revealed

Feels bad being a Monolith Soft-fan who doesn't just want to replay old games :(

I'm a Retro fan, you don't get to complain ;p.

Plus it looks like a big chunk of Monolith Soft is on BOTW 2.

Regardless of whatever issues they're really battling up against, I sat through this kind of radio silence with Wii U, and I'm beginning to wonder why I would expect different from the same Nintendo.

This is nothing compared to the N64 days in the 90s lol. But hey at least back they would mail you promotional VHS tapes for new games. :messenger_tears_of_joy: :messenger_tears_of_joy: :messenger_tears_of_joy: :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Nah, they're not. Not to harp on you, but I hate when people say that about Monolith Soft, because they clearly don't know much about MS's team size and project staff size. BotW2 should have no to not much of a negative effect on Xenoblade 3 and the new medieval ip.

Not that Nintendo would announce them anytime soon, because they hate me.

I'm happy OutrageousFacts OutrageousFacts is here to say what I'm thinking. I need Nintendo to announce some games.

Well I hate to be the bearer of bad news, they are not going to and anyone that thinks otherwise is kidding themselves.

Nintendo for some reason is is on a kick of marketing one game at a time and when that game is released we move on to our next one. I suspect we will hear about something else around the time Paper Mario is released. Anything from Monolith or BoTW 2 will be 2021 titles.

The rest of the year for Nintendo will be the Mario Remasters, Pikmin 3, Paper Mario, Maybe MPT?, Whatever their Holiday Title may be.

There is also the rumored Splatoon Spin off that is Unknown.

First I heard of this.

TRPG if true I hope as it would be pretty cool.
Same. I'd like to see a single player adventure game in that universe.

They released a photo around New Year's that had S.O.S printed on it and in the water you could see Save our Salmon or something along those lines. Too soon for a Splatoon 3 on this switch. Insiders were hinting at a spin off. whether true or not we will see.

Oh, don't get me wrong: I don't "expect" the games I keep talking about. I merely state what would be *appropriate* for Nintendo to announce.

My expectations for the remainder of 2020?

  • Super Mario Collection
  • Super Mario 3D World
  • Pikmin 3
  • maybe Metroid Prime Trilogy
  • Paper Mario
  • maybe Clubhouse Detective whatever
  • Mario Party 2
  • maybe Zelda HD-remasters
  • maybe new arbitrary 2D-Kirby-game
  • Zelda: Epic Yarn (another meaningless experience that's only hyped by the yarn-look)

Basically, pure shit that's cheap to make and that, for god knows what reasons, makes the super fanboys happy.

Meanwhile Nintendo-fans like myself are waiting for, but *not* expecting it this year:

  • next Monolith Soft-game
  • BotW 2
  • SMT5
  • Metroid Prime 4 (will probably be shit, though)
  • new Fire Emblem
  • Fire Emblem: Tellius Saga-HD Remaster
  • Star Tropics-Revival using BotW-engine
  • Eternal Darkness HD-remaster + Eternal Darkness 2
  • Star Fox: Gears of Space
  • new Kid Icarus-game using Mario Odyssey-engine

I like to call those 2 positions "Nintendo Soy" and "Nintendo Steak". I prefer Steak. And I didn't have one in a looong time ...

I don't think it will have a negative effect, MonolithSoft has been staffing up quite a bit recently and they'll be taking the Zelda support into account when they decide how many people to hire.

My point I was trying to make is that we know more about what MonolithSoft is working on than a lot of other Nintendo related studios are working on.

Lol, stop hoping for Eternal Darkness 2 or Star Tropics, its never going to happen dude i thought they were memes
SMT5 is third party and we just got a mainline Fire Emblem game last year.
The other stuff is possible

The only time we have even been close to get an Eternal Darkness 2 was when those ex silicon developers were making a spiritual succesor supposedly coming to Wii U that falled quickly, anything else were pure fans delusions

It looked cool tbh

I don’t know why it’s so hard to get Persona on the Switch. I thought for sure it was only a matter of time once Joker cane to Smash but still nothing. The style would be right at home with the Switch, really don’t get what the holdup is.

Atlus seems to love keeping SMT on Nintendo and Persona on Sony. Maybe they get support from the first parties.
