Angry Joe being accused of sexual harassment

So even if we assume that everything she wrote is true, how exactly is this a big deal? Dude was a slimy slimeball, she was too timid to say no to anything, awkwardness ensued. Wow, what a story?
Has he ever pretended he wasn’t a slimeball? You can see it in his videos.

It’s not like he somehow hid what he was.

People are not allowed to be "not perfect". A douche or slimebag is just what that is without any context... and they like to remove all context.
The world is fd. Social media was a mistake

those guys are retarded beyond imagination.
Fuck these people are stupid. This entire allegation is dumb as shit imo. Even if she was telling the truth, how the hell does this make her a victim?

Notice how she included a lot of innocuous irrelevant things to make him look bad and drive home a certain narrative? Like the part about him getting angry because an Uber or taxi was dirty or whatever it was. There was no reason to include that, it had nothing to do with whether or not he did/didn't act untoward with her.

Do you know it feels irrelevant? Because it seems fabricated, and she things these details will make it look convincing.

Look at her initial dm with AJ, eveything is clear with proper address of each other and clear profile.
Then look at her other messages, all profiles concealed (even hers), and not even a single mention of who is who, what event, and where. You can take the screenshots and use it against anybody for any accusations.

This is why i read the accusations and have my reservations. While Era goes all in and thinks she must be right because it's so "detailed".

Women are gonna find that they are gonna have to be the aggressor in relationships going forward if this shit keeps up. Men are gonna be terrified of making any first moves, when dating life has told men for decades that men need to be the one to ask a woman out, men need to come forward, men need to make a woman feel wanted....now by acting out on the societal norms we have had imposed on us, we're being treated as criminals and rapists. It's gotten so completely out of hand that it's insane.

Women are gonna regret it when they're no longer approached and be confused why men no longer pursue them.

I know I am way behind in reading this thread, but I just wanted to say "thank you" for this, you completely nailed it.

Basically this. He seemed like a creep, but nothing that was really really bad, and if she would've said something he might have acted differently. For example when he asked her to jump in the shower with her, that is the PERFECT time to let someone know you have a boyfriend.

This accusing over social media seems to be mostly an American phenomenon that will probably start do spread like a disease to the rest of the world i.e. Halloween, BLM, gender studies, ...
Well... other then the fact that Postmodernism originated from the French and that Karl Marx is German.

They just infiltrated America because we’re the top of the totem pole.

No one would give a shit if it was confined to just about any other country.

Don't care, Bob. I mean he tried to holla at you. He tried to use his clout to impress you. Sure he may have tried this with other women. I bet you that shit worked too.

So blame the groupie sluts for enabling the behavior as well as your passive aggressive way of handling yourself. You knew when you felt uncomfortable. A firm "NO" goes a long way.

Circumstances like this are exploiting the Me Too movement. It was meant to bring down rapist and sexual harassers. Not bring down people who flirt and try to get laid.

It's really sad and self-absorbed.

I had a feeling this movement would invite opportunists from the get-go. While some cases are very likely undoubtably valid there's also those that don't deter from jumping on this to exploit it for their own benefit.

I'm not a court of law and I would not want AJ to be convicted in a court of law without proper evidence. I am as a civilian however willing to accept a 7-3% risk that I'm wrong to support women when they come forward like this in a society where they're routinely preyed upon, though, especially since for all the support they may receive from conscientious people they're definitely getting harassed 10 fold. The recent accusations being so rampant should be more than enough to show you there's way more at stake here than some YouTube careers. Rioters in my home city also burned down some buildings to try and enact social change against bigotry and police brutality, and I was chill with that, too.

... these are extremists and some of you Americans ought to report them to the FBI :/

Edit:

This is very similar to "all lives matter" type rhetoric. The point is not to say that all accusations are right 100% percent of the time; the point is to change the presumptive norm and recognize that an overwhelming majority of women go through various types of gendered abuse and harassment. That a stepping stone towards dealing with these deeply rooted issues. The amount of unhealthy skepticism levied towards abuse victims is part of why many people don't talk about it and why it's still so common.

How could someone read what he replies to (the statistical numbers) and derive such a wrong, hateful conclusion from it?! The *actual* point of these statistical numbers is that by siding with either of the involved party before knowing the facts, you deny one of them justice. People are individuals, not statistics, and even if you keep pounding your "But statistics are so one-sided, don't you see!!1" rethoric, at 5.5% false-rape accusations, and acknowledging how many rapes occur, just HOW MANY false-accusations are occurring, too?! If there's (only) a 1000 rapes, that would mean there's also over 50 falsely accused men. How can you realize that and ... dismiss them?! It's one thing to deny an already-raped woman justice by not punishing the already-rapist. But it's creating a whole new crime to ruin and innocent man's life from nothing. "Unhealthy skepticism" you tell others? Take a mirror ...

Back in my day, victims would bring their accusations to police, instead of bringing them to the court of public opinion.

Police would then do their interviews, gather their evidence, and then decide on the basis of available said evidence whether there was a case. It was generally a slow, but in spirit (and also by law) a fair and impartial process. The presumption of 'innocence before proven guilty' is the foundation of the Justice system.

Of course, sometimes the outcomes were far from perfect, but it was still a damn sight fairer than random accusations without evidence on a social media platform, with the accused given no quarter to defend themselves. They just get shouted down and branded for life.

Ah the good old drop the accusation, then fuck off and reflect as the fires burn

Honestly where is the cancel culture on these toxic pieces of shit tho?

People are so quick to get the pitchforks out and crucify the accused but when the accuser is found to be lying, it just goes under the radar.

I mean looking like she does, she should happy someone actually hit on her. Its always the ugliest ones getting "raped" or "sexually assaulted" or "sexually harassed". Do we not see a trend here? I don't see any "ig models" in the "me too" movement.

If the woman is telling the truth (which she likely is) then it follows that reacting towards her with skepticism or doubt does harm to her. Why are we worried so much about the harm we'll do to Angry Joe here if we believe her

Unbelievable. That assturd has to be a troll. No real person can't be that biased and hateful.

Then why even post that fucking thing in the first place? Stupid cunt. She didn't expect the backlash and Joe lawyering up, now she's crawling back. This shit does so much damage to actual victims of sexual harassment and she doesn't even realise it.
As *socially aware* as these people pretend to be their personality is easily summed up:

He even told her he was going to shower. Sounds like a 'pass' hidden in a suggestive joke to not outright ask and risk being shot down. Also, how hard is it to wait at a hotel bar? She's been here before (apparently), there's a basic level of intelligence as an adult you're expected to have. Fuck me, these people.

It's not totally about postmodernism. I was reading Infinite Jest the other month - widely considered the top of the American totem pole for postmodern fiction - and one passage playfully mocks a college professor who gives students good grades only because they use the 'correct third-person pronouns'. Before that we had 20 years of postmodernism that had very little to do with shooting your mouth off on social media. In fact, plenty of postmodernists (e.g. Baudrillard) worried extensively about the disconnect resulting in moving away from the physical as digital media started to infiltrate our lives.

Anyway, my point is that I think this is something else. It's more situated in a hyper-attention economy, which originates in American Tech as a result of technological advancements in information capital. A relatively modern leftist sociologist, Zygmunt Baumann, describes this period as Liquid Modernity (or Late Modernity), which he considers as succeeding the postmodern era. I'd personally describe it this way myself.

And this isn't meant to denigrate America at all. Your cultural output is amazing and I very much enjoy talking to you guys here and elsewhere on the Internet (itself an American invention).

Thanks also for allowing me to share my Pseudo-intellectual thoughts :)

I too go to hotelrooms with complete strangers just to have them shower, no big deal! /s What? And Joe is in the wrong here for assuming she wanted more? What a dumbass this woman is. Joe might be a socially awkward nerd but this woman takes the cake. And not once did she mention she has a boyfriend, seriously?

She lied her face off making this dude believe she was interested in him. Believe women who even admit they are liars?

Yeah, they invented the catch-all-term "predatory behaviour" for these types of deals.
Same thing happened to EvilLore.

Pretty much every man who makes a move on a lady is a predator these days or can be made into one after the fact.
