It's, generally speaking, one of the extreme reactions to constant rejection or low self esteem. Not to get too mind-read-y or internet psychologist, but the whole sexless socially awkward internet dork tends to either go one of three ways. The person grows up, or that person skews to one of the more extreme "acceptance rationalizations" that are currently popular. Either the stereotypical "male feminist" who overcompensates and self-flagellates, or the MRA MGTOW types who go the other direction and treat women even shittier. Ultimately it's a rationalization that justifies their sexless lifestyle in a dishonest manner that lacks self reflection and personal responsibility. They converge in a sex-negative, illiberal attitude towards life which is not healthy, in my opinion.

Prominent Member LegalERA is one of my favorites. They don't just mangle the law like common folk based on what they think it is, they literally will make it up as they go and everyone just hops on that without doing any checking. You have a guy in there who thinks a cease and desist is the equivalent of an federal court injunction and others have started adopting this view. You have subpar spatula and others condemning Angry Joe (disclaimer: I despise him and wish him the worst) for doing the absolute least required by Texas law if he wishes to pursue his legal rights and outright stating that if you're accused of anything you should just be silent otherwise it restricts the voice of accusers. Which is an incredible stance for a place that despises free speech so absolutely.
