Weird phrasing in the title.

Abby is a shit character. They try and make you empathize with her, and they do it poorly. By the end you don't give a shit about her motives because her actions up until the very end are just heinous. Saving a few kids doesn't make up for her being a shitty person to her friends and doesn't excuse the actions she did. Which would have been fine for a villain, but Naught Dog tries to make you "understand" from her perspective and they have their heads so far up their own ass that they can't see why she's a shit-tier character.

I say all that too as a person that generally liked most of the game. It's the way the story is told and the lack of consistent characters from part 1 to 2 that annoy most people.

I am currently playing the game... her character is a very good representation of someone in her position.

The haters are just closet homophobes .... plain and simple.

The story has a few inconsistencies but I don't want to discuss here.

I just want to add, I have not seen a single trailer, don't know who wrote it, don't know who .. the who and what who... I don't care.

I pre-ordered it, will finish and make up my mind.

Fuck off with this trite bullshit. For a person that has "very good representation" of someone in her position, whatever the hell that means, you fail to even know that Abby is heterosexual.

I'm fascinated by all the talk surrounding this character. I'd love to see a synopsis of Abby (non opinionated, just straight details of the character) as I most likely won't get around to playing the series. Too little time. Curious to listen to what all the hub-bub is about.

Abby is just Sony's Edelgard. But worse. So maybe?

What if a gay person hated the game because of the story?

What time is it?
Your spoiler doesn't make any sense.

With how the game is structured, ND gave little chance for players to earn empathy with Abby. Without spoiling, I would have probably taken her opening scene and stuck that in the end or at the very least towards the middle of the campaign if revealing her true motivations were a necessity to reveal after her revenge. She needed some back story and character development up front rather than what was presented. Her cast of allies and their dialog also much weaker than what we saw in Ellie's campaign.

As I said, I do not want to get banned to narrate story.
Regardless of not wanting to "narrate story"

saying:

The haters are just closet homophobes .... plain and simple.

Is factually wrong and kinda stupid ESPECIALLY if you are talking about Abby's character.

Maybe finish the game, which by the sound of you not knowing that Abby is heterosexual, is still a ways on before you're at the end before you come give your hot-take on something you don't even have a complete understanding of.

So you haven't played the game, but declare the haters as "closet homophobes" eventhough there are Let's Play streamers finished the game still hates it.

Hate a fictional character is just plain dumb. I understand that she makes a lot of passionate decisions that have little to do with reason. The impression i get from her story is that she was a good person but her desire for revenge consumed her and she put everything aside but that. She was good at heart and felt remorse when she left Lev and Yara alone. She built her body to accomplish her goal and she could have had a relationship with Owen and be “happy” but her goal was just to kill Joel. After she killed him, she was kind of free. And returned to her former self. She obviously kills a lot of people and so does Ellie due the nature of the game but they do not kill for sport they do it to achieve their goal and to survive. I had fun playing as her, she is tough and on my second playtrough i am seeing some new kill animations that a Bimbo girl could not be able to pull off.

The biggest problem with her is no one wanted to play as her for half the game. This game would get a fraction the hate If she was a the antagonist with a small playing section

Really, dude? That's a load of poop and you know it. I'm a hater, but I have gay friends and coworkers, gay family, enjoy listening to music by artists who are gay, and some of my favorite characters in various forms of media are gay.

Funny, one of my best friend is a lesbian, and i also have another friend that is gay. I never had issues with Ellie being a lesbian either, but since i hate the direction the story/characters went on the sequel , i guess im a homophobe... that makes sense.

oh yes, I have a black friend I am not a racist line... rofl... I am perfectly fine with the story...

There are literally haters saying Abby is as big as peak Arnold....

i did not wanted it but when i was there i definitely gave her the chance to go through her story and know her motivations. she was not killing people left and right to kill her fathers killer. But Joel did that to save Ellie. He was indifferent to the killings Abby was not she only wanted to kill Joel and she did, because she spared Ellie twice. We all love Joel and i choked Up when he was killed and given the chance i would have killed abby in the game. But ellie reflectEd on her last conversation with Joel where she told him that she would never forgive Joel for what he took from her, but she would love to try. And-at that moment she was free again, It is not a logical decision it Is an emotional one. We as men many times or most times make reason based decisions whereas women make decisions based on emotions. And that is where i think a lot of players try to find logic on passionate decisions full of emotions, but there is none.

The haters of Ghostbusters 2016 are closet misogynists.

The people who think Black Panther was a medicore movie with plot issues and horrible special effects are closet racists.

The people who didn't go see the Charlie's Angels remake are closet alt-right bigots.

So of course the people who have issues with the plot and/or characters of TLOU2 are just closet homophobes. It's always that simple!

Maybe Abby is just the result of Druckman destroying the patriarchy. She was his offering to movement.

I don't even know if this is sarcastic or not...

Whatever the case... the story, pacing and direction was incoherent and nowhere near the quality of TLOU1.

She’s not hated, in that about a month, nobody will ever think about her or this story again, except in a passing, ‘Wow, that was bad’.

It’s not even interesting enough to engender hate. It’s one man’s misery/violence porn, stretched out over an entire game, and with a side of the most hilarious woke we’ve seen in gaming yet.

The thread is about Abby so???

Yes I meant Abby
has revenge on her mind, and is full of hate. When the game was released and a huge amount of user reviews popped up Amazon/Metacritic/others I saw number of reviews heading like LGBT of US. I am referring to those haters who have not played the game and yet have an opinion that this game is an agenda by ND

To be fair a lot of criticism on these boards has revolved around SJW themes and the promonant lesbian backstory. Acting like the issue doesn't exist is just dumb.

Dude...You are about as bright as a black hole and twice as dense.

You're making arguments literally nobody is making and trying poorly to do false equivalences. And still you don't even have a basic understanding of the character of Abby.

At first yes .. but after I finished the game it’s all about which side did it correctly, Ellie and Abby run after vengeance each one has it’s own ways and everyone got a background story .. So I don’t hate Abby nor I love her

The only character in Abby's section with fun dialogue was the trans girl. There was just nothing interesting about her portion. Same Problem occurred with Ellie's section had outside the Joel flashbacks. They just never did anything to make me care about 90% of what was in the story.

I was ready to love Abby just because she's buff and I love me some she hulks. But it was just all so boring.

Druckmann must have a fetish for buff women. First Nadine and now Abby.
Abby is a shit character with a shit design.

No love for Manny? I thought he was funny and showed a genuine affection for Abby. One of the better interpersonal dynamics in the game.

Also, I get Abby being jacked but her arms looked more like someone that dropped a hundred pounds rather than someone hitting the gym three times a day.

Haven't finished the game yet, but...

Naughty Dog forced me to play as her and brought the plot to a aggressive halt. It's been the worst part of the game yet, so as of today, I hate her for that xD

Abby: literally who?

Seriously, the story completely forgot Manny existed 5 seconds after his death

Poor Jesse, I actually liked his character too, for the little bit he was in it. Same for Manny.
