Yeah sure, get a Sony TV and have a constant vignette "filter" (because the borders and mostly the corners are darkened visibly in Sony TVs) and good luck with having to plug out your TV from the power from time to time because of hanging Android. Also, Auto Motion Plus works miles better on Samsungs, which are also considered to be the best gaming TVs out there. They literally have zero cons.

Not sure about any problems with android nor webOS (LG), I hear people complain about android but it's snappy with me and works great.

And about gaming, Samsung crushes details and yet has shitty gaming mode and HDR, that's why I roll it out.

Timestamped, watch until the game mode and direct comparisons with the lack of Dolby Vision in Samsung, put in mind that XH95 has only HDMI 2.0, waiting for reviews of XH90 with HDMI 2.1:

Either way, it's still a good tv, but I don't recommend it due to the poor image quality at HDR and game mode and tendency to crush details which can be critical in gaming or even movies to make better fake blacks.

Don't be ignorant. There are some signs. Having people leaving all at once is always a sgin for change wither for the best or worst.

Corporates stay competitive because of customer demand that puts them under pressure to succeed. You need to keep your favorite brand under pressure and threat to lose your money if you want them to deliver. Otherwise, you will be waiting for E3 like xbox fans.

Ignorant = lacking knowledge or awareness in general; uneducated or unsophisticated.

And some people leaving means your are intelligent and sophisticated in understanding this meaningful information.

My problem is I have 2 TVs in gaming room, a LG C7 55" and a Sony 46" 1080p

I like the smaller screen for COD, so I want a new OLED 48" to replace the sony (as 55" is too large for multiplayer fast reactions and I dont want to sit that far back).

Problem is if I have 2 of the same make (2 off LG) the remotes clash in same room as they uses the same control codes...(usually).

So might have to wait for Sony 48" OLED...

Sony's OLED doesn't support HDMI 2.1, only 8K lineup (even not full HDMI 2.1 features for 8K) and XH90 (X900H, supports full HDMI 2.1 features: 4K@120Hz, VRR, ALLM, eARC).

So you might consider the new LG CX, although it supports 40Gbps instead of the full 48Gbps bandwidth of HDMI 2.1.

Problem is 2 LGs next to each other will bugger up the control codes for the remote.

I bet LG C7 and CX use same remote. codes...I dont know how to overcome this, turn on one tv, other goes off.

I would love a 48" CX next to my 55" C7..if the 2 remotes play nicely which I doubt.

I bet he doesn't even turn on the advanced contrast or whatever this option is called. It's a MUST on Samsung TVs, it's a day-night difference. And everything has to be later calibrated AFTER turning on this option. HDR? IDK how it looks like now but in 2018 when i was buying a TV, Samsung was beating Sony. I know that there are two versions of HDR based of different gamma type. One doesn't need advanced contrast and the shittier one needs it. Seeing how he complains about it makes me think he only tested the latter without (again) turning on the contrast option. And I can almost guarantee that the other one would have Samsung victorious or on the same level with Sony.
Next, this Sony TV has terrible blooming and the vignette problem is visible even on this video, without zooming in. The fact that he operates on high dimming option on Samsung shows how biased he is, that he talks about crushed black details on this option. NO SHIT SHERLOCK. I would NEVER trust a single youtube reviewer of TV panels, they are most of the time paid by certain companies to promote them. I'd ask around many people on forums, read as many reviews as possible, gather some non-biased comparisons with multiple settings. That way when I picked Samsung in 2018 I didn't regret it. In fact it was picked the best selling TV at least here where I live of 2018 and globally it was one of the best models. And universally accepted as the #1 gaming TV (UE55NU8072). A single YT video gives me nothing. And the timestamp doesn't work.

All in all Iwould say the same - Sony TVs are good, but I wouldn't recommend them over Samsungs.

I respect your points, and you make valid points. I have no experience first hand with Samsung TV's. If you have more videos to share it would help the people around here to make up their mind. It's always better to have a wider range of options to pick from.

During 2016, the Sony DX75 and DX70 were the best in input lag at 32ms, so picked the DX70. Now most TV's have great input lags and the difference is neglectable with HDMI 2.1, I narrowed down the choices to LG C9 (CX is questionable for me) and Sony XH90 (to be reviewed). Will pick one when PS5 is released, I usually buy a TV with every PS release/refresh (Pro).

I would go for XH90 mostly because I use the PC on it for extremely long sessions and need the color accuracy for video/photo editing.

They do like to rake consumers over the coals on blu-ray player prices though, the BOM for the Xbox One S which has a UHD Blu-ray drive shows a cost of $88.50 for both the 2TB hard drive and UHD Blu-ray drive, so the $20 cost seems pretty plausible.

ihs_markit_microsoft_xbox_ones_top_cost_drivers.png
Can't remember where the article was that it showed the price of the Xbox one X tear down. The UHD drive used was actually cheaper than the regular BR drive in the Xbox one

Xbox one if I remember at the time was $25 and the one X was $20

Sony

Nintendo
Not sure, man. I'm sorry but $500 is kinda cheap already, buying current gen for your kids would make sense though, but next gen is already supporting current gen either it's XSX or PS5. For me it doesn't make sense, for some parts around the world that it's hard to buy any kind of console I bet they would just buy used ones instead of full price. Microsoft has pumped the prices up, as it seems here as well, $480 for X1X no games after it was $350 with games:

PS4 Slim with 3 games bundle at $440:

PS4 Pro with COD at $570:

PS4 Pro with Spider-man has just been discounted form $547 to $488:

And PS4 Pro Death Stranding edition here in my country at 189.900 Omani Rials ($479.73 USD), photographed yesterday:

DSC-4160.jpg

So, does it still make sense to you? PS4 is still selling strong though, same with the Switch.

Thank you for the elaborate examples. To answer your question, no it doesn't make sense to me to get current gen consoles at those prices. I was strictly talking about discount prices. Xbox One X bundles (Star Wars Jedi, Gears 5, Forza 4) have been 279 euro regularly. They indeed increased the prices. But 279 in my opinion is a very good price for a One X with games if you don't have current gen consoles yet or have played very littel games current gen.

Do you realize that this was Sony's strategy from early on? They released PS4 Pro for 399 and even PS4 at 399 knowing they will be losing money at first on the hardware but later it became cheaper to make them but they didn't change the price even though the hardware is cheaper but they are making up the profits now from their previous losses this way. Don't think that There won't be a massive price reduction when PS5 releases, which will NOT be accpetable to be priced higher than 500 dollars at most. Sony still remembers their PS3 release at 599.
What's also important you are giving us prices frm your country which I can tell you for sure has higher prices than the western market, especially american, so the price to value is not the same as in America. Look at Europe and our higher taxes, we pais 399 Euro which is about 450 dollars at the release of PS4, which in America was at 399 USD. You don't converst price-to-value ratio and compare it from one market to the other.

Actually the only one from my country is the last one, the rest are from Amazon USA.

Overall, I think you can buy PS4 now for what's it's worth with the amazing selection available someone has missed, but not buy them later around PS5/XSX as those two are already supporting BC for XB1 and PS4.

I will leave this:
THIS ONE watch from 11:26

Dynamic contrast/contrast enhancer is a must on SAmsung TVs. I dont get it why they dont have this option enabled by default. It must be, otherwise you lose details, you lose color contrast and when you turn it on, it's a game changer. Without it, the picture looks bland, colourless almost and I can tell that this asian dude had it turned off from the weak contrast on the Samsung TV. Only then you should calibrate the rest of the settings to make the white details pop back in, without losing this awesome contrast.

So i wanted my 5cents to TV conversation :
i've had highest QLED and now C9 and the better tv is :
A) if you have bright room : most people would choose QLED
B) if you have dark room : there no one who would choose QLED over OLED

I'm playing, watching movies in dark room with all windows blacked so the obvious choice for that environment was OLED.
Oled phone (s20+), oled tv (c9) and only my laptop isn't oled (MBP 16) and it's my main problem with it :D

How much input lag does it add? In TVs I’ve had with Dynamic Contrast, it’s something a Game Mode disables when you activate it.

Yup, as said before, LG C9 and Sony XH90 are probably the best two out there, just choose what fits your needs. For me, I use it for PC and video/photo editing, so color accuracy and endurance is pretty critical for me. If you use your TV for gaming and you usually don't play over 8 hours with HUD statically appearing all the time while gaming and watch movies all the time in dark rooms then C9 is the perfect TV for you.

Problem is, there is no perfect TV, the promised perfect TV (microLED) should be available by 2024-2025, would get one with PS5 Pro, mostly 8K and probably with an updated HDMI 3.0!

Yes, I remember the KS8000 being the best TV for gaming at its time, and thanks for the amazing notes, it should help people make up their mind better.

For new buyers, they should check the options you mentioned if possible, even bring the console itself to the shop and test it there ;) But so far, you can't go wrong with LG C9 except the motion problem at 24-30fps and reliability issues with OLED's and lower peak brightness and HDR performance. It's a very confusing decision at the moment, you just need to pick what you think it suits you. I was about to get a 65" LG C9 months ago, but to me Sony XH90 would fit me better.

More on new Avengers game from Square Enix press release: https://press.na.square-enix.com/MARVELS-AVENGERS-CONFIRMED-FOR-PLAYSTATION-5-AND-XBOX-SERIES-X

Happy to see them offering performance and graphics mode. I hope all next-gen games do so, I'll happily opt for 1440p 60fps over, 4K30.

It doesn't necessarily mean 4K vs 1440p, it could stay at 4K but turn off ray tracing and some. Overall, it's a wonderful addition and all games should go that root. For people doubting that 3rd party will not be taking advantage of PS5 for multiplats, this is another example of using PS5 to its near-full potential with DualSense, Tempest 3D audio (most likely raytraced), and the ultra-high speed SSD loading times.

No further details on the XSX nor PC versions, so can't give a real direct comparison. Assuming 100% same results is a joke.

The article on PlayStation Blog with bold highlights:

I became a serious game development hobbyist when I was a kid and I’ve worked as a professional game developer for the past 18 years. I’m now the Chief Technology Officer at Crystal Dynamics, where I am working with a brilliant and passionate development team on Marvel’s Avengers.

Throughout my life, there has been little that excites me as much as getting my hands on a next-generation video game console — and PS5 is no exception. I have had the tremendous pleasure and privilege of having a PS5 development kit on my desk for some time. When we received our first few kits, I rushed to put an engineering team on the task of creating a PS5 version of Marvel’s Avengers as quickly as possible. I wanted to push Foundation, our proprietary game engine, to its limits on PS5 and see what it could do. Take a look at what we’ve accomplished so far!

PS5 greatly lifts the performance and graphics bar for consoles. The new GPU allows us to increase our texture resolution, push a higher level of detail farther from the player, enhance our ambient occlusion, improve our anisotropic filtering and add a variety of new graphics features such as stochastic screen-space reflections with contact-aware sharpening.

If you’re a technophile like me, you enjoy having a bit of choice in how you leverage your cutting-edge console’s capability.
As gamers, we sometimes want every ounce of power put into extra graphics features to achieve the highest image quality possible. For this, Marvel’s Avengers will offer an enhanced graphics mode on PS5. At other times, we want the most fluid gameplay experience possible. For that, Marvel’s Avengers will offer a high framerate mode on PS5, which targets 60 FPS with dynamic 4K resolution.

The GPU and CPU improvements on PS5 are exciting, but even more exciting is the introduction of an ultra-high speed SSD with lightning fast load speeds. This is a transformative improvement in consoles that will reduce load times down to one or two seconds and enable real-time streaming of massive worlds at ridiculously fast speeds. Without any optimization work, the loading and streaming of Marvel’s Avengers improved by an order of magnitude on PS5. When optimization is complete, loading content will be nearly instant, allowing players to seamlessly jump into missions anywhere in the game world. And as Iron Man flies through content-rich levels, higher resolution textures and mesh will stream in instantly, maintaining the highest possible quality all the way to the horizon.

The new PS5 DualSense controller offers advanced haptics and resistance triggers, and the console itself offers enhanced 3D audio and new platform features that allow you to jump straight into the action. We have great ideas on ways to leverage these features in Marvel’s Avengers and are looking forward to seeing our players’ reactions.

At Crystal Dynamics, we are gamers and we have a gamer-first mentality. We want to make it easy for Marvel’s Avengers players to enjoy the additional features PS5 brings to the game. Therefore, we’re happy to announce that when you purchase Marvel’s Avengers for the PS4 platform, either digitally or on disc, and later upgrade to a PS5, you get the PS5 version of the game with all of its enhancements free of charge!

In addition, PS5 gamers can play Marvel’s Avengers online with PS4 gamers, so anyone can upgrade at any time and continue playing with friends on both platforms.

Marvel’s Avengers launches on September 4, 2020 and will be available on PS5 when the console launches Holiday 2020!

TBH, the main cores didnt't change that much between GTX and RTX, it's not the generational leap you think.
But, if that is your point, PS5 also has other hardware optimizations helping rendering operations. You are right, we shouldn't even compare XSX's GPU to PS5's. /s
Why don't you put more effort in your responses instead of lolling??

EDIT:
Here you can see how the 1080TI, having 12,5% more flops, scales almost linearly around that value in rendering benchmarks compared to the less powerful 2080.... Only to have the latter perform better in almost all games :messenger_downcast_sweat: So, no, different generations, but almost the same efficiency.

That's some interesting catch! Thank you for the details.:messenger_clapping:
