DrDisrespect permanently banned from Twitch [Now Streaming on YouTube]

Sure. Look at the many, MANY alternatives to Twitter, Youtube, Facebook and Instagram. LOL.

I mean MS with all their money, experience and know-how spent god knows how much to get a platform going. They got the biggest names on Twitch to move to their platform. They advertised all over the place. And it still died out in a year.

I wouldnt hold my breath for any competitor to come along anytime soon.

you think they can keep tightening their policies and it won't hurt them? Look at MSM, it was super big, but it is decaying and now they have to censor and deplatform all alternatives that were getting much bigger.
Remember Twitter? That used to be a thing till Gab destroyed it because people got sick of the SJW agenda on Twitter and moved to Gab. Same will happen to Twitch.

LMAO. People delusional as fuck in this thread.
Twitter hasn't pushed enough, but as they too get carried away, don't be surprised if their days are numbered.

You think new generations are going to tolerate a totalitarian thought police echo chamber?

This is crazy. It sucks for him because without knowing anything about his contract, it's at least possible that there's some morality clause in there that keeps him from getting paid out if they "fire" him for something nebulous like "sexual assault accusations."

So if you're Youtube, and you would have paid a lot of money to get him to switch over, you now know he has no where else to go and can offer him 1/10 of what you would have before.

Yeah Ninja lost about 70% of his viewers.

And it didn't work very well because the names weren't enough. Even on an established platform backed by a company that spent millions on a backend, had the app embeded int he OS of a console with 10's of millions of users, etc.

Let's not forget your claim was he could stream on "www.lalilulelo.com" ; I was being generous to you using Mixer as an analogy but it's not even a great one because Mixer was a platform with tech already in place and at least some userbase. It's an enormous investment to go out on your own.

He'd do well on YouTube or Facebook gaming, not doubting that.. but randomurl.com is LOL. Building your own streaming platform is a massive investment.

Playing it fair like you did here:
On YouTube or Facebook Dr.Disrespect success is a no brainer.

However, I used this randomized URL to make the point that once you have a brand of your own, that it is independent of the name tag you carry on top. Dr. Disrespect is known to a lot of people today.
Personally, I doubt he would have to make that investment himself.
I can imagine there would be willing investors. There is a time before and after everything, twitch is no exception, nothing stays forever, at least that's my understanding of the competitive environment.

I didn't know the numbers for Ninja were so steep, but fair enough. The numbers I knew of were a bit lower, but I attribute a visible portion of this to Ninja's sort of brand and Fortnite as a game rather than to Mixer itself. I can imagine Dr. Disrespect having a different retention rate there. I don't know about the numbers of Shroud, but for Shroud the same counts for me: Shroud has never been able to create real attention through brand value, but rather through skill in any game.

At the end of the day what I am claiming is, that the brand sustains attraction more than skills or games.

Well, yeah. Isn't that essentially what they did?

Well, the intention was different. The intention was to attract viewers by having important streamers on their platform. However, he outcome didn't seem to show meaningful ROI....or they simply realized that Twitch and Youtube were to far ahead already and only of they would partner with Facebook they could have a potential chance of catching up..

We will see if that new strategy is worth it..

Maybe he's been accused of something....

Twitch said a couple days ago they were going to ban accounts in relation to recent accusations.

I mean he only signed a ridiculous contract with them in March.

Since when have these San Francisco cucks become judge, jury and executioner? They've been banning streamers left and right lately that haven't been convicted of anything and there's no serious evidence to convince someone who isn't a biased blue checkmark.

I'm so pissed off at all this, at this point I almost hope Tencent comes and destroys all these fucking morons with better platforms that don't give a shit about this bullshit, Jesus what a sad state of affairs.

buckle in, because i hope this ain't the end of the 2time back to back 1993 1994 video game superstar. Whoooo baby!! baby!! baby!! thats what I'm talking about, violence, speed momentum.

I think it's humorous watching the sides already being drawn between the political lines before any real information comes forward. Definitely going to be an interesting case to study retrospectively if it is MeToo related.

Well, the intention was different.
Well, yeah. But that just shows their intentions were grounded in either ignorance or stupidity. Nobody who knows anything about Twitch and the dynamics behind it would have thought this could work.

Well I did say almost, I'm not stupid. I just think that it would be better, for entertainment at least, because people would be able to joke again and have fun without these fucking lunatics standing over them with a banhammer ready to strike. Having said that, I do understand that the more the Chinese are taking over the worse for us in the long run so yeah, every choice is fucking terrible.

Dr Disrespect was one of my favourites on the platform, the production values of his stream, transitions, green screen, etc hasn’t been matched by any other stream. To me it felt more than just a video game stream, almost like a show . I don’t watch twitch often, but when I did he was always on the top of the list for me.

Twitch chat is all about being anti sjw, if twitch changes course right now they could potentially lose a lot of of people imo.

Changes course? Twitch is controlled by the most annoying woke lunatics on any platform and has the strictest rules of any of them. Ever since it was bought by amazon the site has completely changed and it's a shadow of its former self, the site used to be so much funnier than it is now.

this makes it sound like hes joined ISIS or something. like wtf did he do? go on a killing spree or something?

If Doc was making the move over to another platform, what would Twitch do? They would scrub him clean off their platform.

Personally, I think the two time got caught two timing on Twitch. The perma, generic PR response, no scandalous leaks, scrubbing him off the platform...that all screams hes moving elsewhere.

All speculation of course.

When Shroud and Ninja went to Mixer, they still played online with Twitch streamers. You were allowed to talk to Ninja and say his name and stuff.

If it's true that streamers are not allowed to even say his name, something weird went down.

Starting from scratch on a streaming service is a huge investment; trillion dollar companies with cloud provider backends they own have failed to really catch on, but you think some investors can turn Dr. Disrespect into a successful platform?

At the end of the day what I am claiming is, that the brand sustains attraction more than skills or games.

People are lazy, don't want to download another app, create another login, don't want to be a user on a platform with less popularity so their friends aren't there with them, etc.

To compete in the online world against popular platforms you need to either be an existing huge platform pivoting (Facebook adding Game Streaming) or completely differentiate yourself in some way from a feature perspective (Snapchat with their privacy features and "stories.")

People were getting banned a few days/weeks and then allowed back on the platform. To me shit got real the moment they started banning people with whom they have signed multi million dollar deals, which is pretty much now. It’s a clear line in the sand, and I’m definitely not on Twitch’s side. I’ll still have to put up with them though for GDQs and the like though.

Guess people always have pokimane they can count on lol, can’t wait for her to come out with some sexual assault story that happened to her!

Has he been convicted of anything? No? Then I don't give a flying fuck what he's being accused of. In a civilized society we have this thing called innocent until proven guilty, if he did something horrible and he's is convicted I'll be the first to cheer for him getting fired and having his life ruined. Until then I don't give a flying fuck about what a bunch of blue checkmarks decided, fuck these people and their Orwellian worldview.

They tried to permaban Kaceytron for making a joke about poor people contracting coronavirus and only after her people sucked up to twitch and she apologized they let her back in. They force streamers to be responsible for no-no words even when a random viewer says them. They ban for all kind of jokes constantly, especially sexual ones. They ban people without explanation. That line in the sand has been crossed years ago, for me at least, I assume you're a relatively new viewer because you can't imagine how much more fun twitch used to be.

The entire situation is weird. Which is what makes me think its some kind of legal bs that's happened behind closed doors.

I find it hard to believe that Doc is in the midst of some kind scandal that everyone in the streaming industry is in the dark about or refuses to talk about. It would be almost unheard of.

I see what you mean and I do concur to your argument. I understand my view being very unusual. Maybe I am just thinking in a different scenario here, but it would rather mean a step away from centralization and big numbers and streaming for everyone in one big family community, but focus on rather a smaller number of ultra high quality streaming with very big budget productions.

So, premium streaming content, the Marvel of Streaming, who knows, maybe this is just a total unnecessary and impossible idea. Odds are, that the majority of views are created by just a few streamers and maybe this could ultimately lead to a AAA of streaming platform....maybe Red Bull starts this one day.

Another theory:

Basically Doc had an undisclosed deal with some company. That seems weird, though. I don't buy it based on the one clip.

Theory: there was a chick who accused a Twitch admin who is in charge of granted people partner status of using his position to pressure girls into sex and he was a bit rapey. Anyways side story was is she said he was a part of some discord channel spreading nudes of girls and it involved some popular streamer.

Is it possible Dr Disrespect got involved in that?

Reason I think it makes sense: twitch employees also involved so that explains the quietness.

link: https://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1sr9pc9

(she doesn't mention the Dr, my theory is he might have gotten himself mixed up with something similar)

(note: theory is completely pulled out of my ass)
