Tbh i liked the direction GOW has taken, kratos used to be an entitled mindless goon who does nothing but kill kill kill. Dont mind a little sjw stuff as long as it naturally fits the story, (like kratos being more righteous because of his son and him regretting his past actions was done pretty well in the last game). Secondly, people have criticized it for making that more of an in your face thing instead of it just being what it is and focusing on more of a story of survival like what made the first game so great. Even though Druckmann is on record saying he already had a secret agenda with that game as well... Well now that he got more control you can see that agenda even more clearly.
Thirdly, one of the main characters in part 2 makes NO logical sense whatsoever.
Fourthly, it DID inject certain sjw issues,
lev and the bigoted Christian cult, "Bigot Sandwich" and so on
Fifthly, how it treated it's male characters has been called into question as well as being out of character compared to the first game.

The same thing happened with TLOU2 and it's one of my biggest critique of the whole message of the game, the fact that the game indulges in the violence to such an extreme extent makes the message feel a bit shallow and hypocritical imo.
I'd have more respect for it if they actually adapted the amount of violence to reflect the message more but they don't because violence sells and they know that. I mean most people aren't even focusing on the message most people just think that the gore and violence is awesome and really indulge in it and the game is designed to pander to those people too.

Says more about you than the game, I have many friends who have trouble with the amount of violence in the game, it legit disturbs them. And that first part isn't meant as an insult, I'm a gorehound, myself, but I certainly don't see your point of view as valid, having an anti-violence message while... not being violent... just seems silly, it's like an anti-racist movie where no one's racist.

It's not the depiction of it, it's more the extreme amounts of it.
I don't think that most people are disturbed with it either tbh, or at least the response that they feel isn't what was probably intended.
People can get disturbed by the violence in MK11 too but it doesn't mean that they don't think that it's awesome. They just think that it's shocking in a cool way.
When you hear people talk about the violence in TLOU2 that's how they talk about it.
It's like if a game or a movie is supposed to have an anti sexual violence message, and it's depicted super realistically. But then it just keeps happening constantly throughout the whole movie and is thrown in constantly just for the sake of having it and depicting it on screen.
You sorta begin to wonder, because it's just there to be there and it ends up feeling exploitative.
If you're gonna have some kind of an anti-violence message in your game then I think that you should be more careful with your implementation of it.
I also think that it loses the impact a lot when it happens so often.
If the violence is more rare then the extreme depiction of it also ends up feeling more real and shocking.

Antifa has taken the guillotine in many riots by now, they have been actually violent, etc. people get cancelled all over the place because they sneezed too far on the right.
