Okay, regardless of the criticism surrounding the wider series, can anybody deny how fun and refreshing that looked? Everything worked. The entire thirty minute presentation was a joy.

Now if only I could say the same about Wayforward actually managing to make Pokemon look like a technical masterpiece, with what might be the most uninspired looking game I've seen in one of the big three's streams in quite some time.

It may look super easy but honestly I am really excited after Xenoblade to just chill out with this for 20 hours, and laugh at the hilarity.

How can Nintendo be so out of touch with their fanbase lately? They did such a good job in 2017. Now it's like they are back in the Wii U era...

NO. That retarded dinosaur high school trans drama that somehow got some air during the PS5 will forever live in infamy as the worst game ever showcased in one of these events.

...Fuck.

In fairness, it was inspired, just the wrong kind. Whereas this doesn't make me feel anything but apathy, Dinosaur High made me want to commit Jihad against western culture, and at least that was exciting.

What was wrong with that?

Battles looked like a really fun puzzle game of sorts. Maybe you could consider the challenge more cerebral? It definitely looked like it would push you to make the correct moves under the timer.

I'll be curious to see if it gets more difficult in the full game, and beyond previews, but I'm okay with this too.

That was tough.
Paper Mario played by people trying to be enthusiastic but just failing.
That other game where I just recall that a strange male voice kept talking throughout.
What shall I do with my remaining 2 vouchers until end of August??

Let's shift back to Paper Mario.

Rainman the company immediately snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, shouldn't change that Origami King looked like straight fire.

They showed the Paper Mario reveal trailer at the end of that part, the one that ends with the Metroid tease (Mario wearing Samus’s helmet)...then their surprise reveal is a Bakugan game?

why do i do this to myself, brothers
We already know Metroid is coming anyways, Prime 4 and a hinted Metroid V by Mercury but Nintendo were clumsy with the development of those games, and with Covid we shall wait more than planned 🤭

I mean a Metroid announcement was even discarded by Nintendo when they said this thing was third party at one point the dissapointment is not anyones fault but you guys

Post your collection and we’ll tell you what to buy.

In other news, I may have to add Paper Mario to my collection.

Didn't realize the Switch was priced so high. It's $460 for a new one on amazon. Are they in short supply or something? I thought it launched at a lower price point.

I'd be getting a Pro controller, too, and that's another $85, assuming I get the official version. If you add tax, that's nearly $600, not including the games. I can afford it, but I'm surprised it's that much. I was expecting cheaper, considering the graphic capabilities. It's priced similar to PS4 Pro and Xbox One X. I guess it must come down to supply and demand.

That's exactly it. Nintendo is doing it's strongest business yet, in a year where manufacturing was shut down for months, and resellers are having a field day with it.

Hopefully the situation clears up, because I'm seeing a lot of people on here trying to get on board the Switch train, but getting denied.

Just ‘finished’ Mario Odyssey (got the extra bit at the end) and damn I love that game so much. It just puts a big idiot grin on my face so often in between making me swear like a sailor with Tourette’s. Nintendo are special, there’s really nobody out there like them. Honestly I’m so glad I got my Switch, it’s worth every penny I paid for it and more. Bloody brilliant ridiculous little machine.

Finished my second playthrough on The Sinking City. It's such a great game. A hidden gem and the best Lovecraft-adaptation as of yet.

The writing, the lore and the world building is phenomenal and makes up for the clunky gameplay and combat. I love the detective work you do in this game, piecing together the clues and digging deeper into the games twisted story.

It deals with a lot of disturbing themes, such as cannibalism, suicide, incest, murder and xenophobia. Everything takes place in a believable context due to the developers excellent writing, and they never shy away from the atrocities that some of these people commit in this god forsaken city. It's very rare to see so many controversial topics play out in a video game all at once but it all adds up to the brilliant Lovecraftian feel of the game. You can really feel the sinister vibe looming over the city and its inhabitants.

The Sinking city is mostly based on Shadows over Innsmouth but takes inspiration from practically all of Lovecrafts notable stories, such as Dagon, The Rats in the Walls, Herbert West, Call of Cthulhu, At the Mountains of Madness and more. The game is shock full of references to its plots, characters, themes and lore.

The Sinking City is one of favorite games of this gen. It's so immersive and atmospheric, and to unravel the cities mysteries is very exciting. It's like the Silent Hill we never got, except it's based on H.P Lovecraft instead of an original work (although SH borrows a lot from Lovecraft). The voice acting is spot on, especially from the guy who does the protagonist Charles Reed. Very good work indeed.

Define "extra bit" friend, because there are A LOT of extra bits after the end lol. Put them under spoiler.

Damn that’s a nice collection. Mario + Rabbids might be a good punt, it captures the charm of the Mario games reasonably well in a rather different gaming style. I think Bayonetta 3 is on its way too if that interests you.

Are you into RPG's? Fire Emblem, Xenoblade and Dragon Quest are options. What about Pokemon?
Or Animal Crossing? Not your cup of tea?

Don’t like RPGs, mainly due to the fact that I can’t take long gaming sessions anymore.

I checked Animal Crossing (physical Version), but it‘s not for me.

I already have Mario + Rabbids, it‘s a good game, the DLC was even great.
Bayonetta 3 would be great.
Anyway, it is like it is, need to hope something else then Paper Mario can be preordered or I have to spend the voucher on that.
