Now I just recently completed this part of the game, and the "deadnaming" isn't done maliciously at all. It's to provide the player with context that the trans character is actually a member of the family he is investigating. But, of course, as with all matters SJW - context doesn't matter. All that matters are feelings. REEEEEEEE
Really though, this game bends over backwards to adhere to 2020 identity politics (there's a scene where York gets 2020-frustrated with a black cop because he had reservations about the trans character), and he still has to apologize because some insane people have no grasp on the concept of context.

Also, I'd like to note that Swery hasn't apologized for the poor performance or general bugginess of the game.
