That is the number for the texture streaming pool, not total RAM usage.

How do these people run a popular YouTube channel?
Yeah that 768 MB figure didn’t sound right to me for total ram usage, there was easily gigs of data in each scene, Nick Penwarden even mentioned how parts the demo couldn’t fit all into RAM so they had to stream the data in as the camera was moving (which was thanks to the PS5’s I/O).

Because being popular and being smart/wise arent the same thing.

It is like dating, usually the good looking guy that talks a lot, is too stupid to get nervous(women see it as self confidence, when guys hit anything that moves) gets the women, while good men look like quasimodo or are shy.

Same with tubers, those that have ADHD x100 personality, having more emotions in 10mins than normal human in a year and are too confident because they arent smart enough to be critical, are popular.

While calm people whom know their stuff and use technical words arent, because common idiots rather believe the screaming idiot that claims to be right, than calm person whom explains it deeply

Also tits help, women get popular even easier

It ain’t that deep man 😅

My guess.

After what happened with that 3rd party event they are just tempering people's expectations.

But remember this, Microsoft has a different stance on cross gen games than Sony has. What this probably means is that while some of those games will be current gen, they will be running on the Series X so they should look better than the current gen version.
They will be running on RTX 2080ti

In my opinion, today Microsoft has ONE job it cannot fail at: show at least a couple of convincing games (as in, proper gameplay) actually running on an XSX. Everything else is not urgent, and with a slow transition strategy multiple big exclusives with extensive footage and information can wait a bit longer.

We are 4 months away max from the release of this thing, it's unthinkable they would still have NOTHING to show running on it. I doubt this is what will happen, Halo at the very least should be properly showcased on XSX. But if they still refuse to show a GAME running on the CONSOLE, then they're doing it by choice, which would be bad news.

My expectations for tomorrow:

- Big multiplayer mode for Halo, 150-200 players some kind of battleroyale included.
- Raytracing with Forza.
- New Fable cinematic trailer.
- Hellblade trailer with graphics very close to what we saw in the Epic PS5 demo.
No, Hellblade 2 playable with the trailer graphics 😊

He is wrong, that memory was for streaming pool not the total amount of memory in use.

The pool of memory for streaming still be necessary even with a fast the SSD, the SSD will improve a lot
how much memory is used for this and what kind of data you need to save in the GDDR6, so all this amount
is in case the user see another part of your scene or something happens than you need to process and showed
as fast as you can.

So for example now a game need to have saved all the assets of your scenario for the next X seconds if not you will
see a loading screen, example when you bought a new tint on Ghost of Tsushima the PS4/PS4 pro needs some seconds
to show the new weapon/armor with the new color.

The big problem with this a dev is many times restricted in the details of its assets in screen not for its GPU capabilities instead
is she/he cannot expect the user wait minutes every time the player change is point of view or enter a building.

So now when the devs know the SSD is use in all the consoles, they can use heavier assets without worry or be not able to showed
and even they can reduce the area which they need to save in memory but still need it, the SSD is slower and with higher latency
than the GDDR6.

Note: I remember saw in this forum and other sites people who think the PS5 bandwidth will saturate the GPU .... this people is basically
stupid, our GPUs even now can load data much more faster than any SSD (VRAM and cache).

Precisely. One thing that needs to be also clear is that asset loading Into ram is a much narrower operation and does not require GPU class bandwidth just for the loading. A gpu needs huge bandwidth for its calculations and rendering where it’s reading and writing ram millions of times per frame and way in excess of a one way asset loading operation. Asset loading from ssd can quite happily be a fraction of the GPU ram bandwidth.

Updated predictions/hopes/dreams list for the event from my post made almost a month ago:

First Party Content:
- Fable Reboot (Playground Games), yes I still think we are going to get at least a small teaser running in engine
- New Forza (Turn 10) gameplay trailer showcasing those ray traced reflections
- Halo Infinite gameplay reveal (343) new trailer and gameplay of the game running on Series X
- New look at Hellblade 2 (Ninja Theory), the graphical powerhouse
- New look at Battletoads, maybe gameplay (Dlala Studios, Rare)
- Everwild (Rare)
- Psychonauts 2 gameplay (Double Fine) This one might be on the pre show
- Trailers from Wasteland 3 (inXile) and Grounded (Obsidian) These ones also might be on the pre show, because both have already been presented
- New Flight Simulator (Asobo Studio) trailer or even a little bit of gameplay, probably to show it running on Series X
- ID@Xbox sizzle reel of upcoming independent games, among there we'll probably see Orphan of the Machine (Dynamic Voltage Games)

Third Party Content + Extras
- Cyberpunk 2077 running on Series X (CD Projekt RED) + Back Compat enhancements showcase
- Dying Light 2 release date announcement (Techland)
- Japanese Studio exclusive game
- The Medium gameplay reveal (Bloober Team)
- I think we could see something from a Bethesda game (Skyrim? Lol, imagine that)
- Rocksteady's new game! (had to put it here, never lose hope)

I removed The Initiative's game, as they might hold it up until next month's event and Elden Ring. Assassin's Creed Valhalla already had a gameplay reveal so that's gone too.
This seems good enough for an hour long show with just games, maybe not a lot of gameplay but interesting nonetheless.

I think there will be some PC games shown. Heard rumors rumbling of an AoE3: Definitive Edition.
Anyone think they will announce more studio acquisitions?

There was that leak some time ago which mentioned a segment on backwards compatibility, so that would explain the comment about "Gen 9" not being the whole show. They are going to show off some 360/Xbone games running at 4K. I'm looking forward to seeing that.

Phil Spencer on the quality of Xbox July event
"If it’s cringey and just poor production value like Inside Xbox was it’s going to be very disappointing despite the content they’ll show. You have to have a good presentation especially since it’s for next gen. We shall see how it turns out"

The article was poorly presented and laid out, this was a random tweet by someone not Phil...

With Microsoft banking on Gamepass I don't see them providing big AAA single-player games. Their focus will be Multiplayer. I don't see how a single-player game that is in developement for mutliple years can be profitable when I can play it on day one on Gamepass and then be done with it. I mean I can pay for one month of Gamepass and then play games on day one that cost them over a 100 million to develope????

I think smaller titles like Ori will be the story-driven ,single-player games and the bigger games will most likely have a big emphasize on multiplayer

Once they hit big enough numbers paying the standard costs then it does make sense. There doesn't need to be big AAA SP games from MS every month, but even a couple per year will do well for them to keep people invested in the service.

I find it hard we'll see something from The Initiative aside from a teaser, really small studio created not long ago, just not enough time.
That studio is just to new and think even they said before they will be not present in this event.

Is probably we saw a japanese game but the studio which make it has to think what is best option be an exclusive of Xbox and lost japanese market or
be released also in the PS5/Switch.

I mean probably a new IP of Xbox will be a good surprise for you.

Will be only 1080p 60 fps, looks like they have the same problem as Sony, probably Youtube cannot guarantee a good streaming in higher resolution with this
big events in covid situation we have to remember streaming something like this require much server power but I am not sure of why I don't work in youtube.

The trailers will be later upload in 4k.

Yes probably as they know Sony save some things for the event in August is not the best thing to show everything now, the problem is most of the people
don't care this, so if Xbox doesn't balance both events we are going to have a bad reaction in one of them.

Remember the time when we have this "fights" in only two days of difference instead to wait months to the next event. :lollipop_crying:

that's why i put into () that which will not happened.
And to answer the question nothing hype me except the iniative studio on xbox studios side.

Well still hoping for:
- Freelancer 2
- a new Fable RPG
- a new Crimson Skies
- RT-Patches for many BC games

And maybe a preview for Outer World 2 ... that game was really a surprise release for me (just like the original Mass Effect back in the days).

Well, I hope for less AAAish games and therefore more smaller ones. E.g. Crimson Skies would be a really small budget game from currents perspective.

I concur. Even if some games are another year or so out, just show us some gameplay. At least we know they're coming.

People mention that this is a night of 'mic drops', so I'm going into this with borderline mild expectations. Microsoft said they understand the feedback from their May showcase. Prove it here. Today.

-no price
-no release date
-€50 payment upfront
-delivery in order of the pre-order

If I had no idea what Playstation is I'd thought that's some kind of a scam with such advertisement for real - no price, no date, but please give us 50 bucks lol. But yeah, looks to me like the rumored early August even will indeed take place, and that's when they are going to release the price and open pre-orders.

Awwww......man! Ok... I'm sorry. I'll try to be LESS of a nerd.....as I continue posting online......on a gaming forum.... :)

FYI, I wasn't REALLY harshing on your spelling...just thought it was humorous since it triggered that little D&D loop in my brain.

Yep! I think I win the title of 'King Nerd' for the night....do you agree?

Nahh I knew, was just pulling your leg;-)

I agree about August. I mean.. how much longer can they delay anyway? I'd also probably be willing to pre-order a system from either mfr without knowing the price. If I were going to get one of either regardless of price anyway, I mean.. why not. Besides, I can cancel a pre-order if I change my mind.

I know of multiple other stores that already started doing this. Also with a downpayment of $50

Man....will there ever be another Left 4 Dead? Imagine if a 3rd game was shown on the Series X today 🔥🔥🔥. One of the best MP zombie games ever developed. Not expecting this but some friends and I were reminiscing about when we used to play it crazy.
