@HeisenbergFX4 I feel like you know something about the God of War sequel but you are not telling us

2022 can't come soon enough.

RDNA 1.5 is more advanced than RDNA 2.0 confirmed 🤣
I hope the xbox fanbase is correct
Can't way to buy the rdna2 promoted PS5 to join in those class action sues against sony and amd this will make my PS5 even cheaper. Also great to know the badly overengineered rdna 1.5 PS5 will have better games and gameplay then the most powerful console ever created xsx.

So Sony will beat MS in another console generation with one hand on the back. 😂

I am kidding of course

What I liked about this show was how many games they have shown and lots of these we were not expecting also seemed like a decent variety of genres; RPGs, story, adventure, shooters, racing. Most of the games will be game pass day one.

So what studios didnt show anything during the show?

After this being my first generation of skipping xbox, I was really hoping they were going to pull me back in today, but sadly it didn't happen.

No matter how they spin it, you can't fully harness the power of a new console when the games still need to run on the previous generation of hardware, and it really showed today with Halo.

Everwild stood out to me, I thought the art design was fantastic. There were a couple others that caught my eye as well ( I was eating lunch and feeding my 10 month old so I missed some title cards) so I'll have to watch again in 4k tonight. The Fable teaser looked great but was only CG. Was expecting a lot more gameplay overall really.

Oh well, maybe in a couple of years once Fable and other next gen exclusives start rolling out it'll be worth it.

I think we can all agree after this poor showing is that MS are just known to hype everything and anything, the 3rd party showing we could let that slide, but today. Damn.

People saying Cross gen won’t hold series X back... Clearly the results speak for themselves, Halo looked rough for a game releasing in a few months.

Just shaking my head after that.

Really thought Fable was going to be that mic drop moment and thought they had more planned for that.

And still didnt see what I was most excited for.

I will just go stand in the corner.

Well, it's hardly like you're responsible for Microsoft and what they show.

Still, I honestly think it was fine. Good even. It's just MS is operating under a different business model and philosophy now. They've been saying it for quite a while and people haven't wanted to listen. Their focus is NOT on "next gen." Their focus is on Xbox as a PLATFORM and enabling players to play their games on multiple pieces of hardware, including mobile.

Technically, I thought the next gen stuff like Halo and Everwild (and others, but those two stood out for ME) looked good. Forza looked a lot like GT7. I mean, it's a racing game...what else would we expect?

IF people expected some HUGE difference that was going to make the PS5 showcase look like it was 8-bit...yeah, they would be disappointed. But no one SHOULD have those expectations at this point. From all we know, these boxes are really close.

So it comes down to...do you want games that are tailored for specific hardware console= Sony. Do you want to play your games on multiple generations and your mobile devices too= Microsoft.

IGN spoke with Halo Infinite Studio Head Chris Lee ahead of today’s long-awaited gameplay reveal of Halo Infinite. During that conversation, Lee revealed that Infinite is the last standalone release for the franchise for the foreseeable future.

“Halo Infinite is the start of our platform for the future,” he said. “We want Infinite to grow over time, versus going to those numbered titles and having all that segmentation that we had before. It’s really about creating Halo Infinite as the start of the next ten years for Halo and then building that as we go with our fans and community.”

This does not mean that Halo Infinite is a live service game, a la Destiny. But it does mean that new story experiences will be told underneath Infinite’s umbrella, and it also means Infinite will be evolved technologically for quite a while. 343 confirmed that Infinite will get a free raytracing update sometime after launch.

It gets worse..... RT is pegged as a post-launch thing for Halo Infinite... Also, it's apparently a platform meant to 'last 10 years' but also not a 'service like Destiny'? Like really? Do they all take us for ignorant fools?

I seem to remember Schreier writing about troubled Halo development, how it's going to come together 'piece-by-piece'. I'll be very curious to see what's the state of Halo at launch.

It was bad.

Now we get to hear the old line "We heard you, we failed not showing gameplay, next time will be better."
I think we need to ban ALL MS PR talk going forward. no more interviews from Phil, no more threads based on Aaron Greenberg. They are jerking us off. There is absolutely no honesty here, its the worst kind of PR because its clearly all fluff. no corporation is your friend but surely we can take them for their word. We cant even do that with these guys. They will literally say anything at this point.

I'm kinda starting to appreciate the PS5 more and more, especially after todays event. It's clear Sony's aim with the PS5 was to create never seen before gaming experiences with deep immersion, and their emphasis on 3D audio, haptic/adaptive triggers and ultra fast I/O is proof of this. We're getting something unique and new.

I'm still confused at Microsofts approach with the Series X, it seems like they've thrown a lot of power into their console but there hasn't been an emphasis on new types of gaming experiences, maybe on things like visual fidelity, FPS, and resolution but even PS5 seems to be doing a better job at that. Again I could be wrong, I guess it's still early to make these kind of judgements. Maybe Microsoft has some ammo loaded for the coming months but right now it's clear to see who's ahead.

I was dissapointed. I thought halo looked worse than many current gen games. I thought destiny 2 looked better. I liked the look of overwild. There was nothing here that looked next gen. The only thing i found interesting was the forza stuff but there was so little and knowing the difference between game graphics and menu/screenshot mode graphics, i can't be sure that is what we'll get in the end. If this was meant to convince people to get an Xbox Series X then i don't think it worked. This is probably why they discontinued the Xbox X as Xbox one is probably not good enough to run the games well but XBox One X would have run them decent, by stopping Xbox One X people who want to play these games will have to get a Series X. I liked the games as games in the sense of current gen but if looked through the lens of next gen then it didn't look good. I hope they have another event focused purely on next gen, i want them to compete.

Yeah but it is the same old tired manthra just wait a few years until they're ready.
It's been a gen and a half how much time do they need?

Sony was building this foundation during the PS3 days while MS was gaining the repuation of a Forza, Halo, Gears factory while focusing on Kinect.

It's going to take a while but you can at least see the effort is there.

Too many in-engine trailers that yes, may as well have been CG.

Many trailers lacked game-play. MS didn't learn from their recent 3rd party indie showcase.

The Medium and EverWild looked very promising - but disappointed they didn't show game-play of either.

Halo looked... With the 5-year dev time and pre-show hype, it didn't deliver - Halo is about MP for most people so it can definitely still deliver.

They shouldn't have bothered including Sennua 2, it seems like it's not coming out for a while (as does Fable).

Well, Senua 2 being done on UE 5 DOES move it back to definitely not this year. EPIC said it wouldn't launch until mid NEXT year or later so that will be the final version for Ninja Theory to work with and refine their game. I'm sure they'll get the final code a bit before "official" release date but still. Yeah, I don't think Senua will be coming out till AT LEAST holiday 2021 and won't surprise me at all to see it as a 2022 title.

well if i was right about one thing it was that Phil and his cross gen talk was just excuses. I had predicted that they had next gen only games in development, they just arent even remotely close to being ready which is why hes making up all this stuff about next gen games being anti-consumer. its pure PR.

he will have next gen games. But they are clearly 2-3 years away. And I think thats the best case scenario. it took sony two years to show gameplay and launch games for TLOU2, GoW, Horizon, Days Gone and Ghost Of Tshushima. MS didnt even show realtime cutscenes. They didnt even show in engine cutscenes showing more than one location. They are way way far behind to have games ready in 2 years. i suspect none of these games are coming out until 2023 at the latest. 3 years after launch.

those two clowns are making complete fools out of us.

I have been sucker punched by phil and not in a good way like the sony one.

Sigh- Stupid fucking Sardine am i.

Hmm.. "Bit" gutted PSO2 will remain on Xbox... I really like Everwilds Aesthetic and hope Rare's able to go back to it's glory days with this game.

No HellBlade 2 gameplay... Pretty sure Avowed will turn out great - First person RPG but wish there was a bit more video or info, Same goes for Stalker 2...

Jack Black singing in Psychonauts, was really awesome. Love the guy haha.

Forza looked great.. But I Felt like the trailer didnt convey speed for some reason (it wasnt the absence of camera shake :p)... The occasional lagspikes on YT didnt help, but I dont want to go into this too much. As its a YT problem.

And Halo Infinite. Read the rumor about an open world and I think its a good idea(though it comes with caveats). Specially if its planning GaaS. Ive only played Halo 1/2, but to me that game has multiplayer as its pillar. Wouldve liked to see some more about that aspect...

Ill watch it again, but those to me were the highlights at first glance.

Edit: Yes... It should've featured more Gameplay...

Yep, seems he was right once more. He said, taken from my original post:
- About Halo Infinite's possible development issues, he said that even if the game needed more time to develop it's almost impossible to delay because it's the big Xbox Series X launch game. And that he has heard, this was years ago so it might not be accurate anymore, that the next Halo (Halo Infinite), was going to be released in "pieces".

Pretty disappointing showcase after they held their hands up about no gameplay in May. I just hope it doesn't lead to Sony getting cocky.

Halo's graphics were still a shocker even allowing for it being cross-gen. It looked clean but weirdly empty? Lack of a sky box or something.....Maybe just me.

That RT is only being patched in post launch doesn't sound like dev has been going well either.

Forza being a non-gameplay tease was also surprising for a game I expect at or near launch. Phil saying it is early in development?

Really confusing showcase to be honest. The Gunk I did like the look of if that was gameplay!
