For everyone saying "Ok you've made your point", I think the problem is that die-hard Halo fans will buy that garbage regardless and it'll reinforce 343i to make more of that garbage.

I honestly want to like Halo. I loved Halo 1, 2 and 3 but since then it's been bland. We shouldn't have been surprised since Halo hasn't been a graphical powerhouse (ever) and the visuals have stagnated ever since 343i took over. I wish they would just give the franchise to someone else and let them have a go. 343i are running it into the ground and it's sad because Halo has so much more potential.

I love this one. But, I would have went in another direction:

"What if I told you that RTX was off until a Patch?"

Does this actually happen IRL? I've never seen formations like this outside of video games. I live in Florida though. The closest thing we have to a mountain here is the landfill.
I did. Saw it plenty of times when me and my family went for holidays on Reach

This NEEDED to be done.

EDIT: Can I get a xBox supporter to explain those weird, minecraft-looking structures built into the mountains in Infinite? Like, how can they possibly be justified in a graphically ambitious title? And, furthermore, I'm not sure they can be painted as being 'early' versions of a, shall we say, more polygonal model to come in future. It looks like they're very deliberate and baked in to the design. Right?

Xbox supporter?

If Insomniac can do 4k60 on new spiderman Miles Morales ps5, I bet they could, and it would look better. I think you know this as well.

Who told you Spiderman is doing more advanced rendering techniques than Crysis 3 on PC? Because Spiderman your favorite hero?

Crysis 3 is same as Killzone Shadow fall, beautiful games, boring AF. Halo has been bland and boring AF for ever IMO, kiddie enemies.

I can never get over the dumb aliens in Halo that speak English. WTF kind of world building is this? None of them are fun to fight or intimidating. Then when they tried to add new enemies, Tron looking things, it was even worse. Call it a day, create a new IP.

The point being a 7 years old game can look betteert than a yet to release game is sad. And no, open world is not excuse for crap looking game. Why not demand a game that look good and play well.

Halo is obviously going for a more stylized look, not my thing but it never was. Also I doubt crysis was running at 4K (ish) 60 FPS on consoles.

This is a form of basalt (igneous rock like granite) from a lava flow, and is not too uncommon. It can often be found near volcanoes, which do not exist really in Florida. Volcanoes typically form near geologic faults, where there is an interaction between the Earth’s plates, but can also appear well inside a continent (see Yellowstone caldera). The columns form when abrupt cooling causes the lava to contract and fracture.

Why do you think Crysis from 2013 is more advanced than spiderman 4 in lighting and rendering techniques, and interestinly wont advance with gong to Zen2 /RDNA2 with advanced GE and patented VRS.

Curious and interesting.

No your the guy that likes PC >>>> everything, I remember.

I paid good money for this Dynex!
I'm sure Halo Infinite will be the better game, by virtue of it not being Crysis 3. What an absolute trainwreck that was. And I'm someone who really liked Crysis 2.

For me there are a few things that the game needs that makes the world feel a little more dynamic. All of these items could be turned off or scaled for slower hardware
  • Make use of more particle effects, for blowing grass, dirt, leaves
  • Trees and brush should move in the wind
  • Trees and brush should move if the chief interacts with it
  • Trees and brush should catch fire if explosions happen nearby
  • You should be able to cut trees in half with certain weapons or vehicles if you hit them
  • Simulate wind, dust, rain to a limited extent
  • Objects that you can melee an enemy into should rock from the impact (objects on the battlefield.)
  • I'd add the ability to body check if you sprint at an enemy
  • using the grapple should show a vignette blur as you get pulled in
  • add the ability to grapple, plant chief feet and swing objects, or small enemies into other objects or enemies

Were you one of the ones who was sayng Halo would look incredible vefore yesterday?

I recall arguing with you before, you were probably wrong.

Ok I will go into a little here's one:

"When it comes to lighting, Spider-Man is perhaps Insomniac's Games finest work to date, but it has its limits. The game features multiple times of day and features great usage of direct and indirect illumination, but the biggest limiting factor here stems from those times of day - similar to InFamous Second Son, Spider-Man does not feature a real-time TOD transition. Instead, changes in time are tied to story events, with a limited number of pre-baked lighting configurations. I'd imagine this choice was made to support improved scene illumination - while it's possible to blend between different pre-calculated light passes (as seen in Horizon Zero Dawn), it's not always optimal and may not have worked well in a large urban environment."

You're going to see this mentioned more than once "real time". Crysis 3 had access to the best modern rendering techniques at the time by way of CryEngine 3. Which is still modern and constantly updated. Its such a good engine other developers pay Crytek to use it. Spiderman doesn't even have a proper Day/Night cycle. No different than Crysis 1 if your PC cant handle the setting in Crysis 3 then don't turn it on. Getting back to the comparison what do you think is more demanding for a GPU and "advanced" real time lighting or pre baked? Do we even need mention the other GPU taxing things like Tesselation on the plants and wildlife.

Spiderman 4 ran on a mobile phone level CPU and 1.8 TF. There is nothing to discuss or relevant to Ps5

As I said what makes you think Spiderman is using rendering techniques especially "real time" rendering techniques more advanced than what's in Crysis 3 especially in its 4K 60 fps mode that you brought up.

Ps4 everything with a toaster CPU and low TF is not going to do anything, you know that.

Lets wait and see what spiderman Miles on ps5 runs like with a proper CPU and GPU. All we know is there is a RT and performance mode at 4k60.

There is a giant shadow being cast over the area in the halo trailer. Also raytracing isn’t even enabled yet in the game. So let’s compare it to a game that’s fully done. Lol typical sonygaf.

Plus even Crysis 3 doesn't have the level of physics that made Crysis One so much fun to mess around with...or does it on PC? I only messed around with it on 360 and I couldn't get passed the lack of tree cutting.

If you like the actor doing mo-cap or the hi res textures so be it but the world will be "baked/static" no different than what they did for the PS4 Spider-Man because that's what they value when developing. Saying that's more "advanced" than all the shit Crysis 3 has running in "real time" is a fucking joke. And that "real time" is the reason why even a 2080ti can't max a 7 year old game and maintain a locked 60fps at 4K. A card that's like 30%+ more performant than what's in the PS5.

People forget how demanding Crysis 3 is, wich is because it was far ahead of its time. Not even a RTX 2080ti can play Crysis 3 at 4K ultra at locked 60, its that demanding. Still one of the best looking game ever and technical marvel, looks better than 95% games

Crysis 3 is still one of the best looking games out there, an argument can be made for the best, which is kind of sad considering it came out a generation ago and had pretty good 360/PS3 ports.

They actually explain it in the lore. It's comparable to, say, English soldiers in WW2 knowing a bit of German.

Or it's unoptimized. Weird logic, and only aesthetically. The art design is pretty amazing still.

Or we can continue with the funny option.

It doesn't look better, the screen just becomes darker.

It makes the colors a bit more appealing to me. The colors that are not dark are more pronounced. Of course, there are some issues like crushed blacks and stuff like that. But generally speaking, it doesn't look that cartoony anymore. It eliminates a bit of that plasticy feeling. Which is, again, more appealing to me.

Whoa, that's a damn nice upgrade right there. This actually gives the game some hope for the RT patch.

You couldn't even max out Crysis 3 PC at 4K 60 now on a PS5 or Series X GPU. Its has lots visual effects that didn't make it into the console version.
Really? Because there are video on internet of Crysis 3 at 4K 60 at max setting on a GTX 1080 with I7 6700, and I tought that this is pretty comparable to a PS5 (raytracing capability doesn't matter on Crysis)

I prefer the art in Halo by quite a bit. Also there is too much contrast in Crysis 3. Technically Crysis is probably superior, but overall they are about equal to me. When Halo gets that RT patch I reckon it will easily push the Halo visuals ahead for me.
