I just bought a sony x900h 55inch. I still have time to cancel. Was this a good choice for ps5? I was going to so the 65inch but I currently have a 55 and dont really see the need for another $400.

Seems to have everything needed for the ps5. Any reasons to reconsider?

It is said to have a killer SoC, very snappy android response. The image quality is said to be extremely good, even in game mode.

So long as the firmware update comes, bringing its 120Hz, VRR, etc then it's an excellent buy.

Yeah but I dont feel the need for a 65inch. I play from like 5 feet in front of it lol. I mean the features mostly. It has hdmi 2.1, which seems really important to me with the extra 30gb/s. Not gonna pretend that I know everything when it comes to tvs but it seems to have everything needed for ps5 and 4k blurays

Is this a good deal? I was looking for a mid to low end 75" and was thinking about the Hisense H8G for $1249 but then saw this for 550 more seems like a decent bump for the price.
That came down to I think $1499 about a week ago. I almost bite as I have been looking for a 75" 4k for a bit around that price range. I ended up passing as I have heard that TV has some issues with the local dimming it's the first TCL with mini LED back light so hundreds or thousands of zones but the algorithm is too aggressive and you get crushed blacks really bad. Can't tell if it's been fixed or not but I know they are very close to launching 2020 6 series models and hoping they have a 75" version fo that and it improves the mini LED back light.

Damn I wish I caught that. Any idea what the ETA is on those?

If you have a Costco nearby, I'm also eyeballing this Vizio that has some good ratings and also on sale for $1499 until the end of August https://www.costco.com/vizio-75-class---px-series---4k-uhd-quantum-led-lcd-tv.product.100507880.html

rtings gave it some good marks, better local dimming then the 8 series TCL ... but I'm also really hoping that the new 2020 TCL 6 series soon to be released has a 75" version and isn't too spendy. I prefer the "roku TV" experience more than the android TV one cause I'm an odd duck.

I keep hearing that TCL tends to launch new series in July / August time frame, and since they just published a preview blog about the new 6 series I'm hoping it does launch before the end of August. Or they at least give full model specs, sizes and MSRP so I know if its out of my league or if they skip a 75" version like they did in 2019. I'm kind of dead set on that size, its about as big as I want to get where I want to put it and don't want to something smaller.

Kinda in the same boat. I want to get a 75" and need one now. Seems like stock is limited as well. Maybe Ill get and sit on it until they announce the new line..
