I'm getting a Three days of the Condor vibe from this screenshot. Or anyone born after 1990 Captain America Winter Soldier, but if that character model isnt supposed to be Robert Redford then dont know who he is supposed to be

What is more funny is that you can't upgrade Xone to XsX for this game at all. Ps4 version can be upgraded to ps5 for $10.

Im pretty sure they have that they can for the digital version with the bundle edition. Not mentioning separate and that that are still evaluating the physical edition situation for some reason.

Too good to be true. I expect some more fresh FUD to be served in no more than 24 hours from now. Bet on it. FUD Golem is watching and he isn't happy
Not sure its been linked but also who knows how true but:

With next-generation consoles, the game will play at 4K resolution and refresh rates at 120hz. Cold War will use haptic controllers. The solid-state drives (SSDs) with flash memory in the new consoles will have faster load times, and that means that the loading screens will be gone, with seamless transitions between cinematics and gameplay.

I spot some RTX.

:)

I'm glad it's captured from a PS5.

Looking at this scene, it is not possible for me to say if these are raytraced reflections. To me they look more like reflections into a cubemap, as I could not spot movement or real scene details in them. The scenes that I find looking the most like raytraced reflections are at 1:19 (reflections in the truck) and 1:34 (when the starting plan obscured the ship).

Hard to tell, just don't be disappointed, if this COD will not feature raytraced reflections on any platform.

I see totally possible as now they can reach similar resolution to 4k60fps in stable framerate in the X and Pro version, probably
that mode will use the same/similar setting as the current gen.

But had I a doubt how many of you guys actually have something able to display 4k 120fps ? Because those screens are not exactly cheap.

Also I am sure the vast majority of people who have something 1080p 120fps (or more) is because they used now for their PCs, in the personal
I will not connect my consoles to the same monitor as my PC because well space and size of the monitor.

Probably is only RT in shadows as happened in the last one for PC, remember is a crossgen title.

Smart Delivery exclusively for PS5

Sounds weird saying it that way indeed

Damn...I was hoping you could upgrade digital versions. I've usually had disk copies but this year with the Covid-19 stuff going on I've bought...everything, I think...digitally instead. Will be a bummer if I can't upgrade any of those digital titles?? Hopefully this is just COD?

I'm kinda shocked CoD will be pushing 4k/120 when only a fraction of people will have tvs that can run that. I guess as the generation goes on more will and it makes sense to start off at 4k/120 rather than have to downgrade visuals in a few years to double the frame rate from 60.

Oh, the FUD situation is going to be insufferable. Especially when people are doing it with their own console of choice with a wink trying to poke the bear on the other side.

What's the thing people say around here? That Xbox did try to money hat exclusives or that their budget to do so wasn't as big as Sony's because I'm saying the latter. Sony had allocated a larger portion of their budget towards grabbing 3rd party exclusives. I'm not comparing what they've both spent in other areas.
Sorry, didn't understand what you were saying then.
For now, it seems a bad strategy to let Sony grab marketing deals of the most important third parties. We'll see how everything goes in the following years

The official word is it will have higher framerates on next-gen... so unless you believe the current-gen versions run below 60...

If they'll hit that 4K,120 fps on next gen this would be quite an insane achievement to say the least, specially for a launch game.

In a sens if Dirt 5 can do it COD can do it too, but still gotta see it to believe, seems too good to be true still.

I don't think they said it would be 4K 120FPs. It could be dynamic 4k or a lower resolution.

AFAIK it is still just a rumour but if it is true then yeah 4K native/120 will require a HDMI 2.1 TV/monitor. I agree it is probably some lesser bandwidth spec.

Anyone heard about the pre-order registration for PS5? I guess US-only for now but kind of weird. Sounds like either very limited supplies (what about the 10 million units being made?) or this thing is being sold cheap and the demand will be silly.

It's confusing but the FAQ makes it pretty clear there will be a standard edition for PS5/XSX. The $70 edition seems like an option for people who want to get the game at launch and not worry about upgrading to the next gen version. Seems like physical and digital PS4 editions will be upgradable for $10 to the PS5 version, but Xbox is TBD for digital and not happening for physical.

From the FAQ (https://support.activision.com/blac.../call-of-duty-black-ops-cold-war-editions-faq):

  • PlayStation 5 Standard Edition will not operate on a PlayStation 4.
  • Xbox Series X Standard Edition includes an Xbox Series X disc that is also playable on an Xbox One.

So this confirms Xbox Series X will use regular 50 GB Blu-rays same as Xbox One for physical games.
While PS5 will use 100 GB BDXLs as PS5 only discs.

This is also fascinating:

"Both digital console versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War offer upgrades, within the same console family, from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5.

  • PlayStation 4 will have an option to upgrade to PlayStation 5 through the PlayStation Store.
  • Xbox One upgrade to Xbox Series X through the Microsoft Store is currently being evaluated and new information will be updated in this FAQ when available. Please see information below regarding the Xbox Series X version as part of the digital Cross-Gen Bundle.
Both current generation versions (PlayStation 4 and Xbox One) will be playable on their respective next-generation console via backwards compatibility by downloading the game from your account’s digital library. But, the game will not include any of the next-generation features, such as higher framerate, hardware based ray-tracing, faster load times, and more."

Less than smartest of deliveries.

No worries. Yea if I were in Xbox shoes I would have done whatever possible to secure those to bolster their lineup until their first party output was ready. And I'm sure they tried, I just think Sony was able to throw more money at them for whatever reason.

You know you can have reflections without raytracing right..

Yes you can I learned that from Alex. With that said they did say that the next gen versions would have ray tracing so im assuming it's the reflections. The reason why is because alot of the RTX on the PS5 is reflection based.

No no Series X uses BDXL like One X did. Old first version of Xbox One doesn't, that's why when you buy Standard there is no option for Series X disc, and the other cross-get Edition has to include BDXL for Series X and standard BD for Xbox One.
