Take a few deep breaths and calm down. I only linked his posts and mentioned his name once, he who also happens to be personally co-developing Borderlands 3. Digging dirt on his background doesn't alter facts

There has been nothing mentioned that Borderlands is being developed by anyone else other than Gearbox. So you're saying you have this statement from a mystery developer that nobody knows of, very convincing!

Even whatever you're saying is true about the mystery developer. There is a massive discrepancy in what he is saying and what's been reported about the XSX devkits, its not possible for him to claim the same loading times on both PS5 & XSX devkits when it's already known that the 'velocity architecture' is broken on the XSX kits, hence the delays in development. You need to do more research on the BS before you spread it

I'm not gonna bother commenting on the Lockhart stuff, nothing has been said of its existence by MS but that could change. So I'll give you that

I remember the Dirt5 developer talk yeah, exactly the same one used for both consoles!

Oh stop. You are trying too hard and are clearly ignorant on this topic.

Maybe get a few facts straight before you try to call other people out. Toodles.

By your own words you say mainstream 8K won't happen, so why keep a PS5 Pro at the same frame rate as PS5? I'm betting developers may give gamers the option to play at 8K 30fps, but have the standard being a doubled frame rate at 4K. Again, to prevent migration to PC, Sony needs to offer something that is a staple of PC gaming, which is 120hz (minimum).
8K is insanely stupid, especially for gaming.

Sony are working on improving the efficiency of their ray tracing calculations. I think as the generation goes on we're going to see a lot of advancements in ray tracing on the software side.

Again another startling difference regarding Xbox.. while Sony is considering RT as a staple stone in their strategy regarding ps5, MS says RT in Xbox is ok but devs really want to continue working with tradicional shaders technology..

MS always in the wrong side of the stick..

Yeah I call bullshit. 10.2 is peak theoretical performance. No console reaches its peak performance, let alone maintain it. That goes for all gpu's. The workloads simply arent designed to even hit that. Also Devs would never say "it didnt reach xx teraflop number". Thats not how they calculate that. If PS5 could occupy its CU's at such a high workload that it reaches constant 9,5 TF, that would be amazing effiency (93%).
SO either these "whispers" are complete horeshit or they are saying the PS5 is an efficiency beast.

I trend towards shit, because of the mentioned reasons.
Excellent call :messenger_winking:

You made it sound like it they were going to suddenly improve a field that has been studied since 1980s. That makes no sense and implies that somehow they are better than all the scientists that have looked at that problem before.

For me the key point of that text is that they are working to improve the performance on their hardware, that's why I quoted that part.

Internal combustion engines have been "studied" since the tail end of the 19th century. 20 years ago ICE engines were less fuel efficient than today's engines, even when comparing the same or similar engine blocks.

The new demo of Ratchet and Clank improve the shadows and now we can see more elements reflected
but if you like more how looks the reveal version of the same, well you are part of the reasons of why any
app with camera or photo editor have like 20 filters, many them basically variations of vivid and that was
not a flattery.

Not buying this guys information, he's really unreliable. There's been so many idiots trying to capitalise off the need for new information about next-gen consoles, whether for attention or for new followers.

Aquiring more studios and bringing more titles to PC

This is great, there are some games that definitely could benefit of the PC space just like Fall Guys recently. I expect games with a similar caliber as Destruction AllStars, Concrete Genie, Dreams, etc. to be available on PC. They also should bring some blockbusters from time to time. I'm curious to see how they will balance wanting an increase in exclusive games but also this new interest on the PC space.

I considered an 8k and seeing a 75" sitting next to a nice 4k of the same size when I backed up 3-4 feet my old eyes couldnt see any difference.

I am quite content with 4k and real HDR

Same. I would much rather TV manufacturers keep pushing towards 4000 nits (Hell, even 1000 nits full frame performance would be nice) and Rec 2020 as standard than 8k.

I will not upgrade my 2018 6 series for 8k but I will 100% upgrade for better HDR.

Rough times for Xbox going into next gen.

- Starts with Fall Guys and what essentially amounts to port begging
- When pressed to find a game that could’ve hit it like Fall Guys on Xbox, Alanah looks towards Animal Crossing, Pokémon, and then she remembers she’s on Xcast and goes for... Gears 5 horde mode.
- A lot of complaining about user scores in MC for Battletoads, review bombed by PS4 fanboys even though they agree the score is pretty close to what they feel about it.
- Tell Me Why isn’t very good according to Alanah, with some really bad writing and poor visuals. But you know, Gamepass, so MS is doing a great job there. The game sucks, but gamepass/10
- Everybody dunks on 343i. Agree MS was bulshiting about reasons for delay. 343 has had the franchise for nearly as long as Bungie did. Kids don’t give a shit about Halo and the art style is corny and out of date.

Watching this show was eye opening.

Nits mean nothing unless color saturation improves. Otherwise you're just getting a bright white light. Be weary of any TV this year that talks big on nits. Anything beyond a 1000 is useless until we get true quantum dot color conversion. I expect to see some of that CES 2021, but whether you'd see that in stores that same year is another story.

In the Game & Network Services segment, Sony is working to realize future game experiences through the next-generation game console, PS5, maximizing the creativity of game creators and offering users entirely new interactive experiences. We are exploring a range of frontiers in technological development, including hardware, to bring future game experiences into the present.
Custom I/O systems with integrated ultra-high-speed custom SSDs, for instance, can substantially reduce game load times, dramatically changing game experiences for users. The PS5 supports ray tracing technology to simplify the rendering process, a major burden for game creators. For ray tracing to be effective it must be fast, requiring not only superb hardware performance, but excellent software to make the most of the hardware. To draw the best from hardware performance, we are building data structures essential to faster ray tracing and developing libraries to offer game creators, whose voices we will be considering throughout the process.
We apply Tempest 3D audio technology to make players feel presence and locality without high-end audio systems. With priority on dialogue between the player and the world the game creates, on controllers we are adding haptic feedback technology that expressively communicates physical sensations to the player. We believe these technologies will offer game experiences that appeal to multiple senses and give players an unprecedented feeling of immersion.

Soo... I watched Gamescom high. What I don't understand is that the Aug footage seems to be the exact footage captured in June, just an extended look at it without the cuts (when comparing sony's June show and Aug's Gamescom show).

So... Sony seem to be able to change some programming after the fact and turn on more visual shit? Or someone's sat there and recreated the exact movements?
