Yeah i use it for work, im an illustrator.

yeah that's just for the mirror test, here's a new graphic more accurate to the building in R&C. ive found that compared to the angle of the adjacent buildings, the slope is at least 60 degrees at its steepest, and at least 40 at its base. The building is vertically concave and horizontally convex, and that makes for a trippy reflection

Whilst your illustration there is definitely accurate, I think what the others are getting at is the roads are much much lower when than they appear when ratchet goes through the portal.

You're logic is still true as a concept, but the curve is deeper and the slope itself isn't that steep. The bend itself should even reflect things aren't seen in the frame, you can see that on the corner here:

That building isn't visible on the scene here, the other ones on the other side as well. It's more evident that they are being reflected accurately, whether it's raytraced or cubemapped. What do you think about it? I find it hard to reflect a scene down there with that camera angle.

This is the new MS campaign convincing people that delaying console is the good thing as they don't seem ready like PS5. They should only talk about XSX delay, PS5 is locked and loaded.:lollipop_sunglasses:
I actually noticed that too. Lmfao ps5 is looking 100x better than ps4 at launch. Killzone and knack VS fucking miles moralis and potentially demon souls/another one of the titles they revealed at the show

I totally get why people have this argument thats going on for the past 20 or so pages.
But here is my opinion on it:
The first time I saw this trailer I thought "man shit looks great yo!"
And now people are taking screen caps drawing pictures of reflections and arguing about physics and surface properties.
I mean the game still looks great. Who the fuck cares how they achieve it and whether or not it is properly ray traced. No one in their right mind is going to stop the game and get out some good old pen and paper to draw ray intersections to confirm its properly reflected.
Game looks good, I do not care if its physically accurate or not. Especially not in such a short and fast moving scene. They can cheat all they want as long as it looks and runs good.

Timestamped this bit, but the whole section starts at 14:30.

If the hardware is ready just release it as long as there's a few things to play on it when it comes out. The library will only grow with time.

The only reason that I can see delaying the release because of software is if the software is broken on the console for whatever reason.

They know that XSX launch will be disastrous, lots of damage control (selling more consoles isn't our appraoch) bullshit after shouting all the way since E3 about that box that has no games running on it.

They need to leave ps5 out of this equation. Sony is firing on all cylinders.

I can understand Microsoft wanting to delay, the Halo thing is/was a disaster.

Multi plats on both, hardly any difference + ps5 exclusives it's a hard sell for anyone but the most hardcore to buy an xbox.

What are the xmas adverts on tv going to look like for xbox vs PS5,

Let's be honest, its looking pretty fucking terrible for xbox fans.

Spiderman, demon souls, possible rachet and clank vs what exactly.

Yeah its very strange they are having a repeat launch of the Xbox one without the flamboyant drama (DRM, Kinect etc.), they just don't have shit to show. It especially irks me this gen because it seems sony is waiting on their ass to reveal the price.

We are all excited about the game, we're just analyzing it and trying to understand the tech behind it. It's either that or we have memes and funny tweets. :lollipop_tears_of_joy: If it's perfectly reflected then that's plausible, if it's not then it's understandable ;)

I was planning for that massive size, but seems even 65" is an overkill as I'm less than 2 meters away, more like 1.8 meters away (6ft). Congrats on that baby! Might sound funny, but we just got XH90 (X900H) few days ago in my country, and they're getting them to my city next week. I'll be getting that nasty a7S III first, it's actually more important to me than the Holy PS5 itself. :lollipop_tears_of_joy: Been waiting for that for like 5 years of hesitation and waiting and not buying any DSLR/MLIC camera.

I sit around 9-12ft away from my current set which is 75", so I think the 85" should look perfect at that distance! I have a ton UHD Blu-ray movies that I need to watch once the PS5 comes out!

Xbox Series S ?

Coming to the specifications, the AMD Radeon RX 5300 features the Navi 14 GPU. This is the same GPU that powers the Radeon RX 5500 XT lineup of cards. The GPU is composed of 22 CUs or 1408 stream processors, 4.632 TFLOPS...

Sony's OLED is an LG panel, but with Sony processing (which is the best in the biz). As for waiting to see what OLED does next year, I wouldn't bother. OLED has peaked in performance. Top-emission OLED may hit the market, but all you'll get from that is a slightly brighter panel.

QD-OLED is the next evolution and Samsung Display is making them. Quantum dots for the color and a large blue OLED panel behind driving it. Best part is this should solve the issue of burn-in. Probably 2022 is when you'll see this in your local Best Buy.

There's also QNED (quantum nano emitting display) which is being made by Samsung Display as well. Basically a true self-emitting quantum dot display.

We shall see what everyone decides to bring to CES.

As for mico-LED, it's Samsung Electronics pet project. As it is, it's incredibly difficult to scale down to living room sizes. Fun fact, the actual size of the current "mico-LED" themselves are actually more in line with mini-LED. Scaling them down has been a total thorn in Samsung Electronics side. QD-OLED is further along at this point.

Sony's been showing off their mico LED tech under the name of Crystal LED since 2012. They've had massive professional level installations on the market for a while under the name CLEDIS. I've wanted one of these bastards for so long, but we'll have to wait a bit longer.

Either way, I'm gonna want a shiny new TV with top notch HDR abilities and HDMI 2.1 to take full advantage of my PS5. Can't wait to see what's available :)

Sweet! Hope you enjoy it! This is an estimation of best size/distance from rtings:

Honestly the last thing I heard was the delays and I think more people have heard those whispers now as well as I have seen a few articles popping up the hardware might get delayed until Spring.

Hoping thats pure rumors but as I understand some talks have gone on internally about that very thing.

I have been spending a lot of time on the beach last few days and the only phone I have on me is the one for my family.

My other phone that drives me nuts must be dead as I haven't heard it vibrate in a couple of days.

I mean we have to start hearing stuff soon, right? RIGHT?

Have you by any chance owned an Infiniti FX4?

I love rtings.com, probably the best TV review site I have come across so far! Just have to patiently wait for the HDMI 2.1 firmware update though....

Oh but what you’re seeing is not a reflection of a reflection, it is the same object being reflected twice due to the curve of the surface. This happens often. And because of light refraction in this case one reflection will be upside down, and the other will be right side up. Fun!

You can see the same building reflected on the original trailer, along with everything else. You can see the crossroad on the left being reflected twice as well!

A lot of moving parts this week lets see who flinches first

And I do enjoy good movies :)

My speculation. Neither wants to be the first to announce a high price and then get undercut shortly afterwards.

With that said I'm pretty certain the prices have already been established. They are playing a guessing game like the rest of us.
