Im just waiting for more games. All the inside tech shit is over. Has been since Cerny GDC break down. Don't care for pre-order or price. Don't care about UI & software features. I'm no longer buzzed about anything other than games.
I know it will be reasonably price.I will buy the PS5 when its available.

They've taken too long to roll stuff out these features are not interesting. Just waiting on games really. Once we see the games. We'll know the games road map. All that matters.

I still favour my simple idea for the motherboard layout on PS5. Double-sided motherboard like the launch PS4: APU+8 GDDR6 chips on the front side and 12 flash chips+Flash controller on the other side and that patented double-sided heat sink covering the lot. Simple and elegant.

Its coming.

I know it’s not real but It looks like a plausible fan configuration, though it’d be surprising if each of its fans is as big as series x’s the way they’re shown here

It's patented, it's not like they can. They need to invent their own solution, years of studies and R&D. Sony is licensing it, probably exclusivity deal as well in the console field. It'll be available on PC, smartphones as well.

Won't be surprised if Sony/Playstation buys them. It looks like how Sony acquired Nurulize. I think they will be part of Sonys innovation team eventually.

I think i saw something similar to not long time ago. Maybe is this one. Is there something similar or this is the only one?

There is the Mark Cerny one as well, check out the channel.

More than likely, Sony is always one leg ahead. Just see how a massive investment Insomniac is. They like to pay in cold cash, no hassle.

I'm of the mindset that nothing is guaranteed anymore. I had a feeling they wouldn't let September 9th slip by, but now I'm not sure.

Sure, they've ramped up the advertising and promotional emails, talking about known features.

I feel like those are just concerted efforts to goad Microsoft into caving first. I kind of want the price standoff to end. PS5 will sell out no matter if it is $399 or $499. Time to just go for it.

Tomorrow is Friday and everybody kinda checks out early for Labor Day weekend, so I feel it's today or nothing from Soony until next week.

Why is everyone so "mentally" speaking today? Couldn't tell of this was a jab or no? Either way this is new to me in my native language. Mentally huh? I think Godfall may have come first but it does look like some back amd forth. Just give us the prices and preoders already. We will physically get back to them mentally and make our own determinations.

Glad Mr. Shin isn't a member of GAF or he'll get mass reported by the horde and get banned for using that sensitive word. :lollipop_tears_of_joy:
Apparently they prefer Divide & Conquer algorithms more than Brute Force algorithms and that's good, because Divide & Conquer algorithms divide a problem into smaller pieces and use recursion to find a solution as efficiently and methodically as possible . I wonder what solutions they'll bump into with this approach as the paradigm with Divide & Conquer is in a different league to Brute Force. The approach itself is faster.

The sequence of words you have put together really does not make any sense, i mean no offence if English is not your first language. The end of the loading sequence is when you can see the world in full view with dynamic agents interacting within it. And that falls right about 2 seconds and 9 frames or 69 frames. The world had already loaded even before it comes into full view as you can see dynamic agents moving in it.

I am literally not saying that. Why are you bringing Mass Effect long elevator rides and comparing it to a PS5 game? Lets put things in a little perspective.

Mass Effect came out in 2007 on Xbox 360 and PS3.
Xbox 360 12x DVD = 15MB/s
PS3 2x Bluray = 9MB/s
PS5 SSD 5.5GB/s

It will take Xbox 360 12x DVD roughly 50 seconds to fill its 512MB RAM, assuming nothing else is happening. But its a game and lots of things are happening in the background like decompression and other game systems. That was why Sony included hard drives in PS3 and later Microsoft with 360 to supplement.

Senior level designer at BioWare and the man responsible for the Normandy and the elevators

PS5 5.5GB/s SSD will fill 16GB of RAM in 3 seconds that's even without compression. The design methods used to hide loading during the Xbox 360/PS3 to PS4/Xbox One generation is not going to apply anymore. Its no longer about hiding load times but finding creative ways to transition between levels. So no, not even the same thing.

My favorite transition thus far is from The Medium
adPPBOY.gif

That The Medium scene is CGI, a dream that will not come true due to hardware restrictions on XSX and PC.

Yup, sounds very interesting. It can also suggest that the developer can get very selective in that regard with what to ray trace and what to keep cubemapped.

Another Sully (Uncharted) PS5 Leak
-cut-

An open world game, where you can fly from island to island is smaller than a non open world game (U4). How tiny are those island? :p

"PS5 uses a 1 TB internal SSD but they say "only" 825 GB because the rest is "Virtual RAM" which is always active and available during in-game.

I agree, a shitty move to paygate apps.

But i´d start to monetize the F2P folks as well (sounds harsh, but it´s bizniz). Sony has lost of $$$ in the past 14 years by neglecting it.
  • Variables, Input
  • 110mill. PS4
  • 50mill. PS+ subscriber?
  • 60mill. non subscriber. of which 50% are F2P (just an estimate)
  • Number crunching
  • 50*$45 PS+ = $2.25billions from PS+ per year
  • 60:2*$45 = $1.35billions lost per year, 40% lost revenue
  • 2.25+1.35 = $3.6bill. total, if F2P were paying customers, 2020
  • 14 years of not charging F2P user
  • 14 years *$1.35bill (lost revenue 2020) = $19bill. (max. using 2020 basis)
  • 19 : 2.5 = easily <8 billion lost in 14 years (estimate)

The "pro consumer" platform will continue to charge online for F2P games.

Which is what many were suggesting when the 175 GB O/S reserve thing was doing the rounds.

Very reliable Apple insider predicts an event on september 8th...

If Sony plans anything on the 9th they could move the date to don't compete with Apple...

Why are you even trying to be logical about it and make any sense? YOU MONSTER, LOOK WHAT YOU DID!

Nah, mate, it will fall on deaf ears... it's like the Nvidia will give out graphic cards for free to every PC gamer, it's the new Holy Grail, the savior of the PCMR in the war against console peasants. It has always been like this when a new powerful card comes out.

Poor souls are wondering "should I get the RTX or should I buy a console?!" When you ask yourself that question you fall into one of two categories - rich guy, or totally uninformed.
Those poor souls have an upfront problem to deal: how to get rid of all those overpriced 2080Tis that are now selling for half the price?

@Tripolygon no matter what you do or say, Sharkie the Fudmeister will not stop, he is alt account that joined only last June. You are here since 2012, I'm pretty sure you've seen plenty of these xfans who were permed and created new alt accounts hijacking thread with their garbage post from your time here since. As you know they don't last long, and these trolls just move on to another alt account once they are permed. I say don't feed the troll, it's not worth your time and effort.

Sometimes we do those long posts to protect viewers from misleading information. What he did was very impressive!

Why would they care about an Apple Watch/iPad event?

Because Sony is looking for any reason to blame it on anyone or anything just so Microsoft goes first.

Sony have Xperia event and TGS20 in the second half of the month so if they don’t go on the first half then October is not so crazy of a prediction.

September events so far:

Apple - 8?
Ubisoft Forward - 10
Sony XPERIA - 17
TGS20 - 23 - 27

Anything else?

I’m not attacking anyone. He is yet to post any substantial “leaks” that I’ve personally seen. It’s always like I think this and it could be that, based on what I’ve heard this. But it’s all very generic and not detailed. I’ve already said he seems like a nice guy.
Would you say anything in a definitive manner if the things you were sharing were secondhand or thirdhand information? You say you haven't seen him post any substantial leaks, so you must have not been following the thread closely in the beginning of the year and the spring. And he's been early on plenty of things since then too.
