Less than 2 months to November

Sony the conpany that kept repeating about believing in next-gen and have the next gen console is silent.

While Microsoft that is approaching next-gen with all consoles inclusivity and Netflix for games is going full steam ahead

How ironic.

Ok then. Now it's time for Sony's response. They've clearly been keeping their barrels dry - and here is the reason. XBox is now out there for all to see. There's no hiding anymore. They've set out their stall.

One of two things will now happen: Sony will just follow suit with a similar SKU price reveal, release and pre-order date.

Or... they'll avoid doing the same thing, and start dropping game reveals. Possibly big exclusive game reveals.

I know which one I'd pick.
If I were Sony, I'd wait til next week and announce a State of Play dedicated just to Bugsnax.

Coincidence? Maybe they both just so happen to use the exact same overlays for FPS (wink).

Reason:

MS is the unpopular ugly bastard whom have to drive around in ferrari and yell how big dick he has to try to get attention

And then Sony just have to walk in the room and everyone drools and pants are flying around

Did you see that they mentioned specifically that all the games were running on an Xbox Series S?, could it be that all this time all the games were running on an Xbox but because the Series S had not been announced they couldn't say "Running on a Series S" and as it was not running on a Series X they could not say that either and thus everyone was like why is nothing shown running on a xbox. Could just be that the Series S is more along that the Series X and they want developers to first optimize and develop on the Series S then just add bells and whistles for the X version. Looked good to me though, still a it skeptical though and would would be pleasantly surprised if after comparisons only resolution was the differentiating factor between Series S and X.

Interesting. It is odd that within a day they've gone from not acknowledging the existence of S to showing more games running on S than X. Who is to say though. They did mention in the video they started development from day one with both consoles so I'd expect they were both equally as far along.

As for the differences between them in practice, aside from lower resolution, I'm curious how the RAM configuration and slightly lower CPU speed will impact performance between the two machines.

Well ... Now you know that 12TF is not necessary to move Gears5 at 120fps (nor 10TF)?

Something makes me think that more "Series S" will be sold than "Series X".

I'm really interested in seeing how the chips fall there. I know MS said that the majority of buyers continued to buy the 1S over 1X (even those with 4k sets), but was that really about the price or was it the mid-gen factor. Adjusted for inflation the Series S must be one the least expensive new consoles launched in recent times.

The banner at the top of the PS5 cases has way too much empty space on the right. Makes it look all off kilter. It was fine on PS4 as the gradient negated the empty space somewhat, while dark blue assimilated it better with the rest of the cover. The full black of the logo and the full white of the background looks too contrasty too.. Not to mention the blue separator line which only sits right with some artwork and not others, needs something more neutral. =/

Starring Epic Beard Man.

- CPU slightly slower (3.4 SMT/ 3.6 GHZ)
- RAM 224GB/S, 10GB, same speed over whole memory
- target: same experience with lower resolution (1440p), including hardware upscaling
- example loading level outer worlds: 12 secs, I expected faster here
- some next gen gameplay snippets (finally)
- velocity feedback 2.5 times more effective then raw, (2.4 * 2.5 = 6GB/s).

did I miss something?

Sony could blow the internet up by announcing GOW2 without showing a single frame of footage. Just saying it exists and hearing 10 seconds of sounds+music would be enough.

This is why I'm cringing at all the XBox fans currently crowing over the Series S & X announcement.

I remember 2013. I also remember E3 2015. Sony knows how to do this shit.

Video of Shu:

"Congratulations to our friends at Microsoft for the reveal of their two new consoles. We wish them the best of luck with them...

...now please enjoy this thirty second trailer for God Of War: Ragnarok exclusive to Playstation 5..."

Oh my.

Oh my, oh my.

HeisenbergFX4 HeisenbergFX4 How much more bleeding can they really go for? I mean..

It seems all on the table now. They better have some STELLAR stuff, because Microsoft has done a nice turnaround here.
MS is still missing on games. Rumors said that Sony scored some exclusives/time exclusives that will make the internet break. They've waited and delivered before, why doubt them now?

The E3 2016 GoW reveal still gives me goosebumps with the live orchestra.

I believe Xbox has a couple of thing left in the tank but nothing thats close to coming out game wise.

For the most part this post by Games Dean Games Dean nails it.

Sony knew Xbox couldn't stop talking plus knew they couldn't control their leaks as well as what Sony does.

Strictly imo the ball is on the tee now for Sony to hit.

The war (of attrition) is over!!

...by the way, all of you worried about ps5 price can relax now.
after microsoft showing their pricing, it is 100% certain than one of the two ps5 models will sit right there, at xbox x pricepoint.

Honestly, I'm see people saying things like this and I'm not sure what they've been setting. MS have created a really really powerful console and put it at a really good price. They've done their teardown, price, release date, and pre-order date announcements. They've shown a handful of games coming down the pipe sometime for 2021/2022 and promoted the crap out of Gamepass.

They've also been smack talking, trolling, and showing lackluster events (Not that Sony's have been amazing either). What exactly is a nice turn around there? Putting out the high powered box and announcing stuff first? For the record, this isn't a troll, this is a legit question.

What has Sony to counter with besides that 3rd party game? Low console price? Amazing OS features? Their own subscription service with first party games from day one?

a lot of whats in there is not accurate. 1440p is a big red flag. if the xbox series x version is 4k at 12 tflops, you are only getting 1440p with 6 tflops. it would somewhere around 1080p instead.

do we know what the ssd speeds are?

Possibly cheaper. depends on how aggressive they want to be... which depends on what game announcements they have up their sleeve. No more expensive though, I think you're right on that.

So that loading is not impressive for any xbox machine but the series s i thought would be quicker as its loading a lower res.... hmmm.

Remember this is the best scenario they can show us, quick resume take about 5 seconds again thought may be quicker for reason above.

Also I may have missed it but is Microsoft now hiding the Xbox Series s teraflops... after bragging so much that they matter. Now they are hidden away.

Be transparent and show the TF!
