I can see Raytracing Reflections and probably Global Illuminattion too, and I don't know about about Shadow RT.
But isn't the game supposed to have Shadows RT, my great doubt is, I can clearly see RT Reflections and almost Global Illuminattion too. And to think the game would have 3 types of RT is crazy I think, because is so heavy.
What do you guys think ?
correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure environments in demon's souls were all static, so there's no need to implement an in-depth GI solution as most lighting can be baked. RT shadows look fantastic though, love that self shadowing and occlusion

You proposed the people running the marketing might be imbeciles and that their strategy is bad.

I didn’t give you my opinion of your person, I don’t know you, it was my opinion on the quality of your judgement and to me it’s poor. You say your boss doesn’t think so(appeal to authority)and I had to put that in context.

play some games, like actually play the games in your backlog, we are all gamers here (hopefully) so I'm sure there are tons of games on your backlog. Like I started playing AC Odyssey where I left of at 65 hrs and now I'm at 122 hrs which I really did not see coming, I didn't even started the Season Pass stuff and its been fun, I almost forgot the eventual PS5 event and I'm not tired of drip feed announcements anymore.
 
I’m not in the games industry (Thank god. Must be a nightmare) but those examples send a chill down my spine. In a previous job I worked on a strategy that involved a major university. We had to get them to sign off on some copy about the university’s international focus. 500 words or so. Nothing much. Took two months to get cleared, after about six rewrites, and after a good dozen people had looked at the bloody thing.

Marketing. Why get one person to do it, when forty eight will do just as well.

I'm not either but I hear enough to make me hesitate about ever making a move to the industry (as much fun as it would be).

Imagine working with someone like Disney to get their game on the back of your console box as a make-good or value-add to leverage a separate ask, then finding out you can't put their game anywhere without removing another one because Disney won't let anything related to their game sit next to a "M" rated game.

Now think about putting together a 60+ minute event to showcase your new console and balancing first- and third-party games and their separate needs, launch timelines, etc., while holding enough back to keep excitement through launch.

I was playing BL3 but then the game decided to break itself. I can't get it past the sign in screen no matter what I do. So I went back to playing BL2.

I may not work in the games industry, but I know how much of a nightmare Disney are to work with.

And everything you say is the reason why I’ve never pursued a job in the games industry. That, and it doesn’t really pay all that well for the work demanded out of you.

I also love playing games. Running corporate comms or PR for a company who makes them would probably destroy that love pretty quickly.

XBox had one of their best ever marketing weeks and they still trended behind Playstation...

Right now they have no reason to not wait until they're completely ready
How is it a great marketing week? They showed a gimped mid/low tier current gen piece of hardware that will struggle with cross-gen games and be obsolete in a year. Their biggest issue is lack of software, what have they shown to remedy that?

But to the point, I for one, am really happy we got to that point where some games can really look like Pixar CGI movies, and this happened not only in my lifetime but also when I'm young! I can not fathom what PS6 or PS7 can achieve.
Kind of difficult to predict where tech by that time is going, but I could see PS6 utilizing 3D stacking and muti-chip module hardware. Maybe we'll move beyond silicon? Not to mention it will certainly capable of full scene path tracing.

I don't know the answer for this too (if the scenario is totally static) , but you have pointed a good point, and I didn't think on this and yes if we consider this, PS5 doesn't need to do the work for use the Real Time RT for this.

But everything is amazing, the Illuminattion, the reflections, the enviroment...
But now you make me more realible kkkkkkkk, because that idea of 3 forms of RT in the game and 4K, didn't join on my head kkkkkkkk thank you.

Isn´t the XSS chip a failed XSX SoC? If on a wafer of XSX chips:

over 90% are XSX compatible
8% are good enough for XSS
2% are garbage ...

Wouldnt MS sell, produce more XSX chips? than relying on "failed ones" XSX SoC (bad yield), to be able to repurpose (as XSS "SoC")? Or are both SoC completely independent of each other, which would rise the BOM overall?

300mm wafer, 20x20mm (400mm2, XSX SoC is 360mm2, calc. only does by 2 increments, 18, 20, 22).

13,347 XSX chips "potentially" per 300mm wafer.

Marketing is all MS has been doing since the beggining of this gen. They've consistently been putting more effort into PR than producing games. Non-stop.
Those aren't mutually exclusive things. If the games aren't ready well they really don't have much of a choice.
