I don't care about "online polls on some random twitter" because they are unreliable. If you are an analyst (as you claim to be the one) you should know better.
I judge by facts, and currently fact is that ps5 is selling like crazy, giving a lot of frustration due to fast sell-off.
Will xbox be able to copy such success - we will see in 2 days.
And xbox fans can always continue to hide their insecurity behind such "polls".
so, you quoted me , calling me out for an "agenda", while in fact it is you -like the person before you- that do have the agendas.
you wrote:
<<poll is mostly useless anyway, because majority doesn't care about dark1x or similar twitters at all>> while DF has a million subscribers on youtube and has been used as undisputed reference for more than 10 years.
then you reach out even more,
<<poll promoted by xbox fans and on the twitter of guys known to have a close relationship with MS doesn't inspire confidence in reliability>>
where there is no proof of that, and on the contrary, if dark1x is one thing, he is a ps fanboy. AND we saw how he intervened when the poll was 50-50.
Now, these things are some next level bullshit! it would take a pragmatic fool to really believe what you are writing here.
Then, upon asking you for more polls, you present NOTHING but yet continue to say these incomprehensible things.
You should be more careful in the future who you are calling out for agendas, or I will have to explain to you how insecurity is easily recognized in plain sight.

I'll bet you five bucks that the remastered Spider-Man edition will be on sale on its own after a while.
I think that because they are getting A LOT of heat, they will reverse this GTA-style holdup , and will offer the enhancements for free.
Still that doesn't change their shitty way of thinking, but its something.

but truth is all playstation fans were running for the last couple of months yapping how "next-gen" ps5 is and how "cross-gen shit" is xbox.
So, those that have some substance between their ears, they are able to understand when they are played. those that don't have, aren't.

Xbox is still far more dedicated to cross gen than Sony, Xbox is clearly stating they want all their major first party games for the next year or 2 to be crossgen.

Sony on the other hand has announced several Next gen Exclusives including one that's launching with the console.

Given the polls are 50-50, we can expect Xbox to have equal demand to PS5 on Tuesday because people obviously want Xboxes just as much as they do Playstations. MS have knocked it out the park with their exclusives and focus on 12TF.

right?
Who knows, but I can already see the narratives.
If Xbox pre orders are gone within minutes like the PS5: "Everybody wants a new Xbox, we told you this was going to happen!"
If Xbox pre orders are not sold out: "See? this is how you do pre orders, you make sure there is enough for everyone. Xbox is winning, like always"

You are going straight to my ignore list after this reply,

Also, first parties and owners of their walled gardens do not give away 30% of their proceeds, so there is way more flexibility to offer a good service & a good price. We will see if microsoft will price their first party games at 80euros. -Even if they do, they still are offering them all on gamepass.
I wrote about it earlier, for many months the number one concern in here every single day was if ps5 would cost 100 bucks more or less.
And suddenly, all playstation fans are far and above any monetary subject. That is very funny to see.
bye now
I kind of agree with you. The fact is that Sony, after Microsoft declared 2 years cross gen exclusive for its consoles, said that they believed in generations. And all Sony fans believed this statement and they were sure all PS5 potential would be used entirely for MM and Horizon 2.
All of these talkings when they knew everything about MM and H2 to be cross gen. And be sure God of War 2 too will be cross gen.
Sony is supporting better than Microsoft the cross gen exclusives eventually. 🤣
But Sony fans have to justify everything Sony is doing, even updates on old gen games not for free.
To criticize Sony is against the law in this world.
But Sony does not care about that: pre order are going great even if we do not know nothing about some aspects like retro or heat dissipation that was one of the biggest problem of ps4.

We've pretty much seen the PS5 lineup over the next year, I'm still shocked that the God of War sequel is coming next year. However what has made me curious is that they didn't show any gameplay or footage, just a hype announcement. My hunch is they want to do a full on gameplay showcase at a PS5 event sometime next year, this maybe in response to or at the time of a Series X exclusive showcase. I hope ZhugeEx is correct and the game itself is a PS5 only exclusive

I'm more curious to see what the game itself will feature. The 2018 game was such a masterpiece, especially on a visual and technical level and Santa Monica Studios are known for pushing the Playstation hardware limits to their max. Who knows what they can accomplish given the generational hardware advancements of the PS5.

I will never understand people like shinobi. Buying a whole new expensive box to play the same game you can play on PS5 at near equal fidelity.

At least say The Medium or some other timed exclusive. It absolutely shows how thin the xbox line up is. Everyone is quoting multi platform titles in the comments

Well, could you define or clarify what your implying (or insinuating) by saying that? I’ve seen you say this a couple of times if I’m not mistaken. Do you believe that Linneman’s critical thought and analysis concerning gaming is so biased or colored by his gaming preference that he cannot be trusted?

Mmh, maybe you fell asleep while watching it. We do not know how the retro is working since we do not know how the improvements will look like on PS5. Most ps4 games (then become 99%) able to run on ps5 is not enough for me as statement.
And do you know why they did not show the console yet, why there is no teardown yet?
I think they want to hide something. Let's see.

Sadly, we shall actually have to delete games off the system when we're done with them. Or just use external HDDs.
Thing is.....825GB is only 175GB less than your 1TB now. So that's....maybe three games less than you'd have right now before you need to start deleting games when you finished. We all know you have to start deleting waaaay earlier than that unless you want your drive performance to go to shit. I've basically kept mine at about 50% or less full, because when I go over 50% I start getting some slight, but perceptible hitches and slowdowns.

The great thing about the PS5 is...ostensibly, we won't have that issue and can fill that 825GB to the gills without having slowdown. Will be interesting to see if that truly pans out!

You do know that the PS4 Pro teardown was released by Sony in November 2016, as the console launched, right? Nothing was hidden.

Alright, let me put into other words. Deployment is the last part of development, it's when you compile things for testing. It's not develop to XSX or PC, press a button and it will run on everything. It will execute in everything and likely "blue screen" on weaker machines.

The problem with that is the RAM limitation (I won't even consider the GPU on this case). It won't be a couple of years but the entire gen with a ball & chain attached to the devs that go for multiplatform.

PS devkits aimed to be "coded to the metal" targeting a very specific hardware to squeeze every drop of potential from it. Look into Android vs iPhone or Windows vs IOS. There is a major hardware power difference between them. One must target significantly fewer hardware than the other.

This is absolutely right. There IS NO MAGIC "press this button and deploy to multiple hardware platforms." BUTTON. A good example of this is iOS development. You can use the same code...true and your binaries will run on say iPhone 6 thru iPhone 11. BUT....they won't run RIGHT on all those devices unless you've accounted for differences between all those devices you're going to run on. Screen size, resolution (these are same considerations devs will have between XSX and XSS). It's not FREAKING trivial!

Now, isn't nearly as tough as having to develop that all yourselve, because Apple/Microsoft are making it as easy as possible, but don't kid yourself into thinking it's not an issue. IT IS. That's probably why devs are complaining, albeit I'd call it probably just 'grousing.' On the one hand, they have the PS5. One hardware profile. On the other, they have XSX, XSS and XB1. Doesn't take a rocket surgeon or brain scientist to figure out which is going to be easier to handle. :)

Also, calling the PS5 dev kit an enhanced PS4 is just silly. There are sooo many differences. I don't think that people are understanding most the development is done on PC anyway. They use the dev kits to test and run their code and debug. I mean... That's why dev kits are to approximate the final hardware and later on, people use the platforms themselves as dev kits. Good grief! I get the feeling that some people here thing devs are sitting waiting for dev kits so they can hook up a keyboard and FINALLY start working on that platform. LOL.

Sony ahve shown games like spiderman 4 a year ago, its not really important 99% and boosted frequency is good for now.

The only people hiding how stuff works is showing XSX at 4K with ray tracing and how it looks. They are releasing the console soon, where are the 4K uncompressed vids ?

Sony on the other hand has announced several Next gen Exclusives including one that's launching with the console.
Actually, in terms of announced titles, I believe Microsoft currently have more next-gen exclusives on the cards than Sony. Microsoft commited to all their first party titles being cross-gen Gamepass titles for 2 years... and then everything they announced was outside of that window. Sony has declared they'll support the PS4 or three or four more years, and announced several titles launching well before that cut off, and revealed several of them are cross-gen after-all.
There is no denying Microsoft are going into the Series X launch with literally nothing - not a single next-gen system seller, first party exclusive, or tent pole game - but their plans for the long term show a real focus on next gen. If I had an Xbone anchor around my neck, I probably would, too, frankly. Anyway, Sony, on the other hand, can't actually seem to get their messaging right on their own titles. Is Demon's Souls a next-gen exclusive? Or is it a "next gen exclusive", in the same way that Horizon Forbidden West and Miles Morales were exclusive, where they aren't exclusive at all, but they won't want to tell us that because it'll hurt their marketing. Is God of War: Ragnarok cross gen? Who knows, at this point.

Let's see 😏. I think I am able to criticize Sony when it deserves to be criticized. This topic seem like a Ps5 topic where criticizing mum Sony is denied.
If Microsoft had done what Sony did with cross gen policy, the entire internet would have criticized and blamed MS.
Sony do it instead but who cares? 😅

Demon's Souls and Destruction Allstars are PS5 only.

Also, the supporting the console for years is standard for Sony. They have always supported every PlayStation for 10 years or more. That statement was not specifically related to first party games, it was a reminder that they're not abandoning PS4 owners (who are 110m+ very profitable customers for Sony.)

What do you mean "trusted"? You should always listen everything from everyone with critical thinking on your part.
About the "analysis" part you are saying, its not like DF is usually releasing the data from their tests along with their opinions. VG Tech does that.
It is very funny to refer to dark1x as "xbox biased" like earlier above. his bias is on ps.
I don't think it makes him incapable to report what he reports though, its just he sees things in his "own way".
If you want me to give you an example, I'd prefer not to. Plenty have been written in here last week anyway
an innocent one is the latest reaction video to sony presentation. during the looooong spiderman cinematic scripted showpieces he only praises how insomniac is the best, then move to COD, when that airplane sequence starts, immediately he goes "eehhh typical scripted COD showpiece... but ok buggy" :messenger_beaming: :messenger_winking:
(Between spiderman and COD, COD was the way more interactive piece)

Well, that's another topic. But when IGN does the "ICYMI" thing they always copy and paste the text from their original posts. I noticed that a couple months ago, lol. I don't know why they don't come up with some new text or just retweet their original post.
Its not a retweet, the tweet I posted is fresh, less than an hour. BUT, you are right, it looks like paid advertising on some kind of rotation

So, Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition will require a later update in Xbox to have Raytracing...

¿Do you think Sony is money-hatting this update? or Maybe ... It's just more easy to put RT in Sony's hardware than in XSX... Let me know your comments...

V2qK5he.png

RT patching for Xbox means, they'd have to do it for both X|S at the same time. They're probably held back by Series S atm. Devs don't like that thing as Richard from DF said:

...speaking to (Xbox) developers the development environment they are dealing with some people seem to be extremely happy with it, other people are having problems with it

Every single developer I've spoken to developing for PS5 has been evangelising how easy it is to work for, Its essentially the same development environment as PS4 and you scale up from there, for the new powers, the features and whatnot. I can't stress enough how happy developers seem to be with this situation

While that makes sense in a way, I don't see them caving to consumer complaints because it'll hard for them to sell the next remaster.

Would love it to be proven wrong, though. Fuck re-selling remasters in this day and age. Even if Insomniac worked their asses off to remaster Spider-Man, Sony giving it for free to existing Spider-Man owners bring Sony a lot of good will for fucking up the PS5-only original narrative of Miles Morales.
Yeah, that's damage control.

Sorry, but this is the same ol' bullshit MS was saying with Halo Infinite. You don't make a game meant for the PS5 from the ground up then saying it's coming on PS4 too. Compromises will surely have been made.

Maybe the PS5 will have better storm/rain/snow effects, more particle/lighting effects, instant-loading times, better textures ... but it still won't be the game it was meant to be for the PS5 considering it has. To run. On a fucking PS4.

I hope they make some DLC for that game thats PS5 only. Give us a taste of what that game could have been if built around the SSD. Could be doable. The first game got DLC 6 months post-launch.
