The 3rd point probably confirms that deals already in contract can't be break.
So some near release games will still be on PS5.

The issue is probably with future games or these like Starfield or Oblivion 6... probably all Xbox eclusives.

7.5 billion!?! Hell the entire gaming industry was worth around 18 billion in 2017! this is crazy on just 1 publisher..

Next will be Sony purchasing 2K and EA as retaliation!

This is might be a BIG step down a dangerous path for the entire industry if Sony follows suite..

Not gonna happen, even Nintendo is richer than Sony lol.

There is no way in hell they make Bethesda games exclusive to just Xbox, especially when the PS5 will dominate the Xbox. They will miss too much revenue, and Microsoft is not that dumb enough to pull that exclusive shit. Besides, Minecraft is still on the PS4.

To be fair. Nothing a of value wouold be lost on me if these all went Xbox exclusive besides Elder Scrolls. Fallout has had two sub par entries in a row and Doom Eternal felt like a step down from Doom 2016.
Good move by MS as Bethesda games and Xbox fans have a lot of overlap.
Yea Doom eternal a step down.....

This is gonna be huge if they decide to not port the games on Sony hardware.

Well this sucks.

I really don't like platform holders buying up third parties that weren't in danger of going under, and in the case of the very successful Bethesda, they're needlessly buying a bloody publisher this time.

Those billions of dollars could have been invested into new studios, new talent, improved thier existing studios and management to better the whole industry and their output.

Instead it's squandered on what's little more than a massive fuck you to Sony.

I just despair at the lack of care or love for the medium these kind of business decisions show.

BTW, I think this is GOOD news. It means that Sony will need to get their butt out of the chair and get the ball rolling. Which means more for me as a consumer.

I this so too. Than again I think we are going to see a LOT of PS Now being pushed in the future.

As long as they are multiplat, yeah it doesn't have any decent "exclusive" game.

Good for you, then.

Exactly! I was thinking about this too because when Sony’s back was against the wall they turned the PS3 into a monster and led the way for the PS4 to dominate. I fully expect lots and lots exclusive’s to be announced over the next couple of years from all sorts of studio’s to compensate

Other than TES and Fallout in the past nothing personally interests me.

All games which will be released on PC anyway.

Like I said before, Microsoft needed to make a dent in the Japanese market.

Acquiring developer like Capcom or even Sega is a game changer in my opinion.

Microsoft also announced that they have reached 15 million GamePass subscribers' milestone.

Games are the primary growth engine in gaming, and games are fueling new cloud-gaming services like Xbox Game Pass, which has reached a new milestone of over 15 million subscribers.

Btw don't stop there MS spare a few billion on WB! That way you can have your Super Hero games and Fighting games as well. You already had good devs with western rpgs. Netherrealm could make an amazing Killer Instinct!

I think it's a good news for gamers because we don't want a monopoly by arrogant SONY...

I'm not sure it is. Basically both companies are forcing players to take sides. Ultimately, it's the gamers that are missing out (unless you're buying both consoles). Imagine if both companies just carve up the top AAA game studios. How is that a good thing for players?

Just goes to show how cornered MS were though to have to pull a $7.5b acquisition out the bag.

If Sony retaliate (an acquitition of their own) things could get dirty and us gamers will simply be pawns in the mess of it all.

Sony didn't give a rats ass when they made Spiderman exclusive to them. This is a dirty cut throat industry and MS arent playing anymore.
Sure, but MS will not want to miss out on all that profit from other consoles (just like Minecraft). They'll just use it for Gamepass. Which looks like a very good move.
