I made a thread about my experience in GAMEUK and got attacked for saying the manager there, all be it anecdotal evidence, wasn't seeing the same level of interest for XBOX pre orders.

Which was surprising to me because UK is XBOX strongest territory in the entire EU.
Well you probably got attacked for various reasons, the main one probably being your tag lol. 2nd reason being that store managers dont usually say stuff like that to potential buying customers, The manager may of been talking about XSS or XSS and XSX as a whole, and finally one store means nothing.

PS5 day one pre orders were 3 times that of Series X and S,
and Xbox SeriesX and XboxSeriesS pre orders crushed the Xbox One day one numbers back in 2013.

Also, One night of PlayStation5 pre orders are currently tracking 32% higher than that of PS4 full day one numbers.

It appears we will have a hot Holiday Season.

meanwhile I am struggling to pre order a PS5 because of it's lack of availability :(

That's gotta hurt xbox getting stomped in one of their strongest markets. This is why games like fallout are going to lose relevance if they skip ps5. Playstation players will choose other games instead that will benefit.
Gamers already choose other games over FallOut after the last two releases.

I hope they can back to the New Begas quality again.

Dude read the thread replies, the twitter account is fake.
Besides Xbox + PC users are far more than PS5 will ever reach.

As others have said - the Series S is still available in the UK at least.
But for the Series X - yep it sold out pretty quicjly from what I saw.
But you certainly can't claim stock is limiting the sale of the Series S - because it isn't.

Can you ask the UK to ship some of those Series X preorders to the states?

Sony made more? Microsoft less? Or Sony has allocated more units to UK and Microsoft decided to have as many in as many countries as possible? Since this time around, MS will launch in 36? countries and Sony a week later in 12?

MS should have (if they didn't) stacked the US with consoles to have more inventory than Sony so they can tweet out (leak) that they outsold PS5 preorders in the US. Most news sites would grab that headline and run with it.

He's a GAMEUK lifer and manager of the store. We were talking about the XBSX. He actually has regional data but I didn't go into that as it's just a conversation with no empirical data. But he did compare it to the XB1 in 2013 and said there is a stark difference in terms of "interest."

Again that's just anecdotal. One store managers opinion based on his experience. It piqued my interest because of the UK's love of all things XBOX during the 360 era.

Preorders were to all PS countries.
Way more than these 36 from MS.

Obviously bullshit until we get hard facts, but seeing as how Sony is shipping PS5 in waves, meaning that they are selling more than they can produce or have on hand, then this could sort of make sense. I haven't heard the same happening with XSX.

For example, Sony makes 300k PS5s per wave, and take 900k preorders, and xbox made 300k and only have 300k preorders because that's what they can deliver on, then it makes sense. Obviously, these aren't real numbers.

What's that random's credentials in the field?

Anecdotal but both the Series X and Series S are still available for pre-order at various places. The PS5 sold out everywhere pretty much instantly.

To be expected though since this is the UAE and both PlayStation and Nintendo are really strong here.

IIRC MS started manufacturing a few months earlier so they would also have more units available. For Sony, we really don't know what their production numbers are at. The Bloomberg report was seemingly wrong but in what specific capacity (the 15 million production allocation? The yields?) wasn't necessarily clarified in Sony's response.

I'm still thinking they're targeting 10 million for March 2021, but even considering that's going to be spread between now and then, it doesn't mean 2 million unit availability per month. I highly doubt it's linear, for either system.

This is false. Those preorders will be guaranteed for day 1. Retailers will also have extras for in store purchases.

All 4 consoles are still available in Portugal.

Yet, those numbers do seem real, considering thats slightly lower than current gen which was about 4 PS4 to 1 XBO.

Sadly I dont have the same optimism as some people around here, I highly doubt MS will sell anywhere near what the PS5 sells, and I also highly doubt their recent studio aquisitions will matter in the long term, considering Bethesda has already claimed they wont be exclusive to Xbox (though this can change at any second).

Not so sure, there's a thread here on it. People are getting emails about getting pushed to a 2nd wave in December, and something about a 3rd wave next year. I've seen it on the PS5 reddit as well.

I'm hoping that supply will be more available by the time GOW launches.

It's not even about production numbers here. The harsh reality is that the demand quite simply isn't there for the brand as a whole. They have a lot of work to do in the middle east of they want to make inroads.

The two threads on the dubaigaming sub reddit where you can see the number of responses in the respective threads and the availability via all of the links given.

Polish Mediamarkt is trying to sell Xbox consoles by adding Assassin's Creed: Valhalla for 30 PLN (about 7 EUR) and Dirt 5 for 20 PLN (about 5 EUR). Both bundles still available, just like XSS and vanilla XSX.

PS5 sold out in less than a day. As zaitsu zaitsu reported, before preorders finished, they had managed to sell at least 40k consoles. They're one of major retailers but there are others which are also sold out. All this for a toy which costs 2 weeks of average income, paid in advance.

Nothing stops the PS train, even if Microsoft buys half of devs, the other half will gladly make games for their competition to keep the industry alive and gamers happy with quality titles. As we say here: "cheap meat is for dogs".

Wait, where is the X available?

Honestly, who even cares? Time will tell what the actual difference is and who sells more ect. The fact is, Xbox players will be playing on the stronger console and getting the same games but cheaper, and 10 days earlier than PS5.

Know whats actually laughable about this all? 3 first party games on PS5 will set you back about half the price of the X itself :messenger_tears_of_joy:. Each to their own, but you must be a mug to pay those kinds of prices. Enjoy cheering over the sales numbers!

The answer is right in the post you quoted...
ah yeah well no wonder lmao, that far from Xbox's strongest market. Here in the UK it was sold out instantly everywhere, all websites down or not functioning. I guess my anecdotal experience means its crazy popular, just as much or more than PS5 here.

If you are in the states, Pre-orders for PS5 and Xbox Series S/X are sold out for now. There have been a slow trickle of PS5 supply at Target but otherwise nada. I expect PS5 to do a proper pre-order launch after their initial one was a total clusterfuck so keep your eyes peeled over the next few days.

Xbox tweeted out advice for people to watch out for more stock Nov 10th launch day. No idea yet if that means we truly won’t see any more in the pipeline til then.

The account is probably fake but it's probably a sure bet.

Anyone thinks that ps5 won't stomp all over xbox in the sales department is delusional.

If if there was unlimited stock, it would be a slam dunk, Microsoft's engine wont be revving up probably for another 2-3 years.
