This thread is truly mind boggling. That people think Halo Infinite and other Xbox series X games will look last gen is fucking hilarious.
biggest thing is people dont seem to understand game development when it comes to resolution/frames/graphics... if Infinite was coming out on PS5 it would look like that too, if Spiderman MM was coming out on Xbox it would look like that too. its like people cant comprehend that different game engines and game designs means different targets and results no matter the hardware

just cause a PS5 game is Dynamic 4K for one game doesnt mean it can never do native 4K lol and just cause Infinite looks like ass doesnt mean every xbox game is gonna look like ass.... its all just so ridiculous

I know you are joking, but I still find the stand a little bit weird. It’s weird that you need it for both positions. Has this been the case for any other console in history?
And did Sony say anything if we can use the ps5 without the stand or not?
The case isn't flat, it's curved so it needs a stand.
You also need a stand for the Series X in both positions, because you can't remove it.

This is the same dude that was trying to say PS5 didn't indlude an HDMI 2.1 cable.

The grass aren’t greener on the other side. They are trying to fill the void, emptiness, insecurity they got nothing to talk about but to make the PS5 looks bad. It’s so sad.

Good old "whataboutism" at play again. That shit works better on Twitter than on here.
I wish there was a chance that you could see the irony of accusing others of whataboutisim. Especially since "accuse the other side of what you know your side suffers from" had been in play for a full year now.

Regardless, now that the price of both consoles are announced, I no longer care so much about any and all talk until launch day. And even then, since I was never a first adopter, I don't care until PSVR2 comes out. So keep trying to defend what you want, it's not like it matters anymore and even more so, I have lost interest in general. The next thing that would get me involved in threads seriously now would be after the launch reactions come out.

So do you mean it's perfectly alright for Halo Infinite to look the way it did after having a budget of $500million ? whether it's the engine or the air condition in the dev studios, $500 mil should not translate to what we saw.

Err..no one has said its not running in real time using the game engine. But during cut scenes much higher polygon assets are used because everything is on show, front & centre so to speak, so developers push the GPU's to their limits in non interactive parts of the game. The first Horizon game did exactly the same thing, and so is the sequel.

We all know it's going to be glorious no matter what :D

Say that to MS: they thought that is was fine to show Halo Infinite in that presentation.

I try to keep my path clear, so I'm not sure what you mean. There's no doubt that both sides are bad in many respects, but I try to stay out of it. I'm not defending anything, by the way. I'm often critical of Microsoft and their inability to show us some god damn footage running on the XSX.

It's not upto us to defend games on the xsx. it is microsoft's job and they should showcase jaw dropping games running on their console for us to dissect.

I'm thinking, I maaaaay consider using dbrand (just on the shiny part of the PS5) to save it from scratches.

Seems kinda useless man, what else do u do to your console when mine literally just sits in one spot 24/7 untouched

Edit; not to mention that is a digital only console, so apart from inserting a usb, u cant get it scratched with a CD to begin with.

Don't touch or wipe that part and problem solved. You can use compressed air to remove dust, in horizontal position it shouldn't even gather much. My PS3 Super Slim still has no scratches because I'm just never touching it with anything.

Series X comes out first, so no, the Series X is the first ever console that requires a stand regardless of how its positioned, unless there's other consoles from other gens that need stands.

No. It’s not a stand since it’s not detachable. It’s part of the console itself.
This is like saying the whole bottom of any console is a stand.
And you can’t even see it when you put it vertically.
Stop reaching please

As none of you probably know, I have been a PlayStation gamer for 20+ years now.
With the new generation coming closer each day, I have decided to continue this trend.
But it has been a lot of soul searching to get to this conclusion.
In the end I ended up with a list why I should still spend my bucks at the Sony corporation.

So without further ado I present my 10 reasons why I dropped Microsoft again:

XBox launch window exclusives
Bloodborne is PS exclusive
Old habits die hard
XBox exclusives launches on PC

Symmetrical thumbstick layout rules
Useless naming conventions
Craig
Knack is PS only
Series S

Thanks for reading this, I just had to get it off my chest.

TL;DR Good for you

Let's assume that you could count the circle base in the vertical orientation as a stand. The horizontal orientation doesn't need a stand but it has small rubber feet. If we can call those stands then we have gone truly crazy.

I really hope Xbox and PlayStation show something new this starting to get old to end. The Tom and Jerry play.

I think from a Sony perspective we had a good weekend, a really good one.

I am not that pleased with the Japanese content in the way it is presented, different country, different culture i guess. Plus i found a lot of their streams very hard to watch, the language barrier is just to great.

But saying that, it has totally relieved the vast majority of fears i had.

I am one happy bunny, i think most Ps5 fans are too atm.

Like you i am hoping for some more stuff, the trickle is real lol, but i feel less stressed now, more confident that Sony has this next generation under wraps.

Ever since price/preorder I think overall it has been less stressful. The next thing which, to me is a hot button, is storage or lack of and what NVMEs they consider fast enough to keep up performance in next gen games.

After some greek video podcasts that i watched earlier this evening(xbox fans) i feel so frustrated from the stupidity and ignorance of technical information that occurs in my country. For some reason i am here to tell you i am sorry on behalf of greece
and i hope that someday we will keep up to the knowledge that exists out there.......

What did they say?

I am most exciting thing is that those specs hasn't been out yet and new tech is about to get our hands on, it will be a good generation for all!

The User Interface and more information on Backwards Comparability. Should be doable with a blog post or a youtube video.

Yeah that's what we all want, but will Sony actually show it before launch? I think unless there are some neat OS features like in the leaks they won't bother showing just new set icons and background picture/animation And as for BC, I think they will keep avoiding the topic, yeah it will be there but that's about it, nothing fancy, no additional enhancements, the games will run the same as on PS4/Pro, they might even advertise BC in the upcoming PS5 ads, but their focus is clearly elsewhere, on the new/upcoming titles.

it will be interesting to see how good the compression is? is that is the right word to see how small games can be saved on the ssd. i saw someone says game sizes will be about 10% less than last generation due to it, but don't take my word for it, i could very well be wrong.

piggy backing off the Bo post in regards to the temp/noise of the PS5, looks to be cool and quiet.

4Gamer reports playing Godfall for some time on the PS5, before noting that "the breeze coming from the exhaust port was gentle and didn’t feel exceedingly hot", despite being in a basement surrounded by tech (and thus likely warmer than your average living room).

Dengeki, meanwhile, called the system "exceptionally quiet", even going so far as to say that "the quietness of the fans was more impressive than the loading times."

Yeah, I think that sounds familiar. It’s just on my mind how big Call of Duty alone becomes. Might as well forego buying other games. Lol.

It's not me mate. It's the missus! She wipes clean everything in the house...and I mean everything! My PS4 has micro-screatches on the shiny part lol. I know they are impossible to see 99.9% of the time, but just knowing they are there....
