So how are the schlubs with no pre-order planning on picking up a PS5/SX?

So you didn't get a pre-order in for the November 10th/12th console launches.

If you're still wanting to pick up a PS5 or Series X/S in late November, December etc...how are you planning on going about it?

Keep checking Amazon on the daily? Call Best Buy and Wal-Mart every morning? Harass your local GameStop employees?

Are there any proactive measures we can take other than "Wait for stock to replenish to the point where there's dozens on store shelves on a typical Thursday evening"?

I’m going for Xbox All Acess for my series x in Canada, wasn’t really a fan of the rush and clusterfuck that happened in the UK with multiple hard checks fucking people’s credit up due to shitty webservers, so I’m going to wait as All Acess in Canada saves you ~$50 or so for the life of the machine and Gamepass ultimate(which could even go up at some point, resulting in greater savings).

I've never preordered a game system before. The last one I really wanted at launch was Wii and I managed to get one two days later at Target. Perhaps I am brazen.

That said, if I actually wanted a PS5 at launch, I'd be sweating it without a preorder. You forgot option D where all the "schlubs" wait for there to be games, a better/redesigned SKU, and to not worry about launch hardware issues.

I got my wii from eBay the weekend of launch. After being 31 of 30 because the guy in front of me in line brought his mom and sister to buy consoles I hit eBay and found someone who listed his scalped console in the wrong category. I was the only bidder and ended up getting it for less than retail because he offered free shipping from Delaware. He could not have been happy.

I'm hoping to find a PS5 DE at launch day (Nov 19th).

Last time I bought a Playstation console my friend at local Sony messaged me a few days before launch asking me If I want one (with a discount too). I'm hoping for a repeat.

Edit: Another round of pre-order stock in my region in a couple of days, so I'll get one then.

I guess wait until, probably after Xmas. Maybe March?

Not willing to put the work in, no time to do it either. Read several stories here and reddit where people stayed up all night hitting F5 to secure orders and thought well you deserve it for putting in hours.

Disappointed in this whole thing. Digital scalpers are the worst kind. Bots just waiting to pounce.

I'm trying to imagine how many are for resell and I'm willing to think it's at least a million.

Kinda strange, I hear that XseX is sold out, yet here in Poland last time I've checked, it is still for preorder.

not really interested nor have the time right now for a launch console....if an inlaw wants to gift me it fine. but im in no rush to chase on down.

Like every console for the last 20 years there will be constant stock being replenished after launch at all major retailers.

I just plan on grabbing one at some point when I see one. I'll probably cast a wider net by asking any friends and family to just grab me one if they see one and I'll pay them back.

The games I want to play this holiday season are on PS4, so I'm in no hurry, hope to pick one up Feb or March of next year.

I’m sure lots of folks are going to have to hand over that “unplanned donation” to the more needy.

I'm just going to wait until there's a few games worth playing on either one of them.

Should take a year or so.

I wanted to go this route, but with horizon 2 dropping mid 2021 and the fact it's going to take like 2 years for a price drop I said fuck it and reserved.

Never needed a console day 1 and will wait as they become more available in store.
Sounds pretty simple to me.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
I'm waiting for some worthy exclusives.

Demon's Souls looks nice but it's just one game. I need more to justify myself expending that amount of money on game console.

I'm still hoping there is sufficient floor stock available come Christmas. When we get out of lockdown (I'm in Melbourne, Aus), I'll just walk into a store and put a deposit on one PS5 and whenever it gets here, it gets here.

Well, seeing as there's really no good, original launch titles on either system, I don't feel the need to bust my ass trying to find one. I'll wait a year or two when I can just walk into a store and buy one.

Some might get lucky and find a console at a smaller video game store. I managed to buy games and consoles from mom & pop type stores when I couldn't find them at a large chain store. When Wii and Nintendo’s mini consoles were in high demand I got them from a smaller store.

Pretty sure they'll be available in retail stores on launch day. As far as I know that's the only way you can buy Xbox via All Access program?
