So with the limited Numbers PS5 was distributed to diffrent countrys (100k for Germany) it could cause Peopel who are desprate to get one but cant to maybe try to steal one. So i have an preorder secured and it will get delivered to a Poststore. ( i dont trust my Neigbors from same Apartment complex) I will pick it up there and try to enter my apartment without getting seen. (I assume any big Package will be supicious to certain people.

So with that being said - will someone from an apartment around me be able to detect that somewhere around him is an actuall PS5? Like finding it over Bluetooth or Wifi.. i own a PS4 but not even there iam sure how this is handled..
So is there any info out there regarding my Question?
Iam super nerveous about all that. I will also try to by my PS5 Gamedisks very discrete. To not give away to strangers that iam in fact own a PS5..
Just do what I do. Name your wifi Network "IHaveAShotgun"

Get an AR-15 playa...

Before going to bed hook it to the door with a fishing line tied from knob to trigger.

Been thinking about it.... can't never be too careful.

Maybe you can disable the Bluetooth in settings and use the controller wired?

Also wired via ethernet is safer, if you can't do that perhaps a wireless bridge then ethernet so you can still disable wifi.

This all assumes sony will let you disable Bluetooth and wireless.

Backup plan set up a very loud motion sensor/alarm on door next to tv when u are gone, and or a camera. And a second one by the TV.

Whatever happened to Deutschland? What City (Stadt) you live in? I lived in Germany between late 80's and 1998. It was one of the safest places you could imagine. It felt funny at first. I had this feeling every neighbor in the street I lived, was always on some sort of lookout for any suspicious activities. There weren't any :) ever. The only dodgy places around that time were some parts of Frankfurt A.M and Berlin. It was also a bit rough around few places where US and UK troops were stationed, but compared to some burbs here in Australia and U.S, they still felt like Bergen in Norway :)

If your apartment has windows there might be a slight possibility that people with eyes might detect it from outside. Remember to keep those curtains closed. But I guess they are already covered with aluminum foil so you shouldn't worry about that.

Hahahaha.

This thread.

Its a PS5 guy, people have alot more important things to worry about than working their asses off to steal your PS5.
Your priorities are all screwed up and now you think everyone elses priorities' are screwed up......so few people give a fuck about the PS5 launch day, it will just be another day to them seeing you playing videogames will likely disgust them.

Calm down, calm down

To be fair, some will try stealing it from you before you even get home with it (how else are they gonna do ps5 unboxing viseos?)
Perfectly calm here, i was just laughing at people so desperate for a console to steal one from another guy :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

But i general a 100k units is not much for a Country like Germany. We have 79 Cities with at least 100k inhabitants so that would make ~1200 Consoles per city , but there are alot villiges and smaller towns.. so i would assume that the actuall number per City is much lower - like lower 3digits like..
Where did you get that 100k information? It's hard to believe. Otherwise, I'm the only one of my friends and contacts who made PS5 preorders.

You don't need to be Sherlock Holmes to figure out what happened in Germany, it's the same thing that happened in France and the rest of Western Europe, which also used to be very safe. And yes in France delivery trucks get hijacked during console launches now. Stores are calling and asking people to come pick it up in person in a store to avoid this.

I made posters that says, "I got a PS5 and you don't" with a big emoji hand giving the bird.

Are you guys suggesting that I actually shouldn't hang this on my garage and front door?

As somebody who (unfortunately stranded by birth and stuck here, descendant of the remnants of the last lost world youth games) resides in said country can´t share your feelings about this. But i´m a nationless foreigner and lack specific german dna which seems to include the angst and stupidity in terms of all things money. Oh and i reside in the nice part of the country where milk and honey is flowing, not some eastern or northern shithole which is basically the rest of the country except the part i reside in. But even then there just is no such danger, thats more FUD than saying next gen machines do not exist and you´ll get bricks delivered in the boxes on launch day.
