How is Infinite not an exclusive? Because it launches on PC too? Well then there aren't any exclusives, and we can stop the discussion.

It’s on (deep breath) Xbone, Xbonex, XseS, Xsex, PC, Gamepass and Xcloud so it’s on android and iOS.

If that’s your definition of exclusive - then you’re in the wrong thread - this is spec about PS5 and Xsex.

Quality gaming? First of all we don't have the end result, secondly that was never part of the discussion. You are moving the goal post.

Other games we'll ignore, because for most cases we just don't know enough.

AAA gaming is about budget, marketing and quality.

If you believe it’s possible for a game to be called AAA and yet be mediocre - well that’s fine, that’s your definition. It’s not the common definition though.

Like I said, then Xbox never has exclusives, and we can stop the discussion.

But apparently from the moment a game releases on PSNow, it's also not an exclusive anymore, because PSNow can be enjoyed on PC. So God of War is not an exclusive anymore using your logic.

Which is ridiculous btw, God of War definitely is an exclusive. And Sony will probably expand their cloud offering the following 7 years, they might even also release their games day one on it. Their goes all their exclusives then apparently...

And exactly the same performance on both platforms.

You‘re absolutely right to point out that PS Now games are not exclusive to a PlayStation console, but they are all old games, and were exclusive to the single console they launched on for a long time. This continues to be the case into this generation, whereas there are no exclusives on Xbox at all. Important distinction.

He is in marketing - he does not have knowledge about technical matters. He is a variation of Aaron Greenberg that worked for Microsoft in the Xbox divison - now at Amazon.

Would not trust anything he has to say regarding tech.

Yes, that's the joke. "quote — unquote" verified user.

Like I said, then there's no discussion at all. All first party studio games are coming to Microsoft Windows.

lol expected. Now it might actually survive.

A bit of a mixed bag there. It's good that the game will get a chance at success, with the PS+ userbase, but it might not bode well that the game's development has been delayed, and it's not considered viable enough to stand on its own.

Hopefully it can get the same success as Fall Guys, and turns out to be a really fun game. However, I'm going to be cautious with my optimism. I wonder if this will be the fate of all 1st party multiplayer-based games. I expect it to be riddled with MTX now, as that'll be the way to monetize the game. I wouldn't mind some cool skins. Just don't throw bullshit loot boxes into the game. I hate RNG.

...possibly not for much longer.

So, he wants to go Sony's way with more single player games? Am I reading it wrong?
That's what it sounds like to me. The thing is, multiplayer games live and die by their online installed bases. Keep flooding the channels with those types of games, and the viability of each game drops, as finding a sustainable community becomes harder. Single-player games can coexist much better. You can have multiple single-player blockbusters, so long as they provide unique gaming experiences. GP doesn't have a huge install base, and XSX might not have a lot of units out in the wild. Are game lobbies going to be large enough to support the large number of multiplayer games in GP?

I wonder what the payout model is for GP. How are companies getting paid for including their games on it? If it's based on the number of downloads, that's fine. If it's based on hours of gamplay, then that's a trough that might deliver diminishing returns as the catalog grows. It's an interesting strategy, but there are some nuances to the approach that I've only started considering recently. Library composition feels important.

It is pretty wild that Sony delayed a game that was supposed to come out in like 3 weeks... wouldn't they have needed to start pressing disks by now?

Sales must have been dreadful I guess.

ofc the sales number is low. no one would guess otherwise. but having it free on ps+ is huge. just like fall guys. multiplayer-only games should launch on PS+

Yeah I'm looking forward to checking it out now.

Still a wild story; from $70 game to "free on PSN+" only a few weeks before it was supposed to launch. I'm guessing this decision was literally made when they were supposed to start pressing disks or something.

my guess they need to settle the numbers with the dev studio. after the devs have seen the presales number, it's easier for them to accept the deal. However, this is not the same as game pass. after April, anyone wants to play this game needs to actually purchase it, albeit likely at a discount. If the game hits like fall guys, it may work out well

Did they actually say this?

Usually games are on PS+ for a couple months, but are added to your library permanently if you bothered to download it (can just add it to your queue and dont' actually have to DL.)

I wonder if they are even going to have it for sale separately while it's still on PS+ or if it will be a limited "Exclusive." I don't think their PR indicated that.

Preorders will have been low, which is hardly surprising we have not seen any detailed gameplay or reviews of a new franchise so what would they expect ?
Well I imagine they expected to sell a decent amount considering they bothered to put up pre-orders lol

This is a specious argument since, as we well know, PSnow does not get games at release.

When Horizon came to PC years after release, plenty of people pointed out it eroded the exclusivity.

A game playable on release day on 7 platforms clearly isn’t an exclusive.

So in the end it turns out Xsex indeed doesn’t have any AAA exclusives for half the coming gen.

If they handle micro transactions like Rocket league I am fine with it. Just cosmetics. That's the way MTX's should be handled. I may spend a little in Rocket League because they deserve it.

In the end it`s a numbers game.

Dev need to recup their money and the PSN deal can adress that while allowing sony to offer some real ps5 game on the psn+ early on... in the end is a win win for everyone.

Is this acceptable for you, of course, it is, you have your head so far up Microsoft arse that they can do no wrong?

They just released a video, where they decided to show pop in as an advertisement for their next-gen console. This by any metric is one of the most easy things to avoid, this is one of the most retarded things i have ever seen.

But you in your divine wisdom thought of defending it.
How much are they fucking paying you dude?

Stop, think, Expect Better.

Wrong matey, so wrong. No head up arse. Just wondering why there is a continual need for a select few well known Sony boys to lay into the Xbox. I shouldn't let it bother me, I know, but by FUCK it triggers me 😂.

Especially given I KNOW you are at least partly in it for these reactions - and here I am satisfying you (I should charge).

I will say this. Sony haven't even shown any BC yet. I wonder if there is a reason for that? Will you post such concern if old Sony games still have the same pop in, can't even reach a locked 60fps, or don't load in 2 seconds etc?

I‘d assume you don’t feel the same way as me? That this is a big mistake for the future of XBox, as we head into this generation?
Nope not at all. Xbox isn't about consoles, it's about the platform.

The Xbox platform is growing, and this will only be positive for the games and devices they launch. This is Xbox:

Consoles will always be part of it, but it isn't the main contributor to the success of Xbox.

We have had this back and forward in a few posts now.

You need to stop bubble wrapping everything Microsoft does, these are not your friend's dude, your shilling for a company that is constantly letting people down.

In regards to pop in i have already said it in the posts, either you are have not read my replies or you are purposely ignoring them, i will now link what i posted a few hours ago so this clears up any confusion for you.

And for you xbox fanatics i will tell you this now, if i see a ps5 video about fast loading and i see pop up like this in the video, i am going to rip them a new one as well. This has got fuck all today with consoles, this is a standards thing.

A common sense thing, Don't release pre-recorded videos with multiple examples of pop in it.

The above bold posted comment was posted by me at 3:06 pm this afternoon.

Happy now? probably not.

Now stop defending bullshit Microsoft does please.

Not even that.

IF Starfield and Elder Scrolls are Microsoft exclusive, I'd get gamepass for that month, then cancel. $10-15. How is that supporting ALL the devs on Gamepass? Microsoft will have to subsidize their gaming industry.
Essentially that what I do now with Gamepass on PC. If there’s a game want to play, just pay 10 and beat it with a few other games, and cancel. Rinse a repeat.

Hmmm. We’ll see. I’m not sure it’s going to lead to much success for Xbox specifically, but Microsoft will certainly do fine.

....until Amazon pitch up 👹

Depends mostly on the success of Game Pass, we'll have an update on these numbers tomorrow.

I’m getting a bit sick of being attacked for criticising Xbox, when I am more than prepared to also criticise Sony (evidenced in my post history).

The thing is... Microsoft are currently doing a worse job of selling me their new console and eco-system than Sony are, so I sound more critical of Xbox... because there‘s more to criticise.
