I get what you say, but believe me, it's much more objective than I thought it would be. At least so far. Perhaps this was not the best example, but they really talk about some interesting and scary things and I didn't feel that they want to brainwash me with far left propaganda so far. They may come from that place, but everything I saw so far was objective. This might change later of course, but I'm pleasantly surprised so far as I was worried that this will be a brainwashing fest. We will see later.

It seems that you can. I just keep going from mission to mission with 1 npc. Idk if they try to force more on you later. It's supposed to be sandbox so I hope they don't mess with that.
Each character has their own little personality. Like one that says Brapp! all the time (kill me). Each character has entertained me so far.

Dude, I'm right with you. Like almost purchasing but the new consoles are like a couple of weeks away and I have valhalla as well. At which point this would be shelved but it's so freaking hard.

The game has performance issues, patch will be put tomorrow and hopefully improves performance. At least it say so in the patch notes, whatever that's worth.

Okay, there are definitely some anti-Trump references in there... still, what I said earlier is true. It's much better than I thought it would be. They talk about a lot of things that are objectively bad, no matter your leanings.
Not an OLED but I'm playing in HDR as well. Try to find an option in your TV settings called HDMI video range or something. Set this to limited and voila. This solved the problem for me. I don't know why this is, someone could explain to us. AC Odyssey also had this problem. With other HDR games I didn't have to do this. I don't even know what this setting in the TV does exactly but it solves the washed out problems. HDR is very good in this game btw, regardless of this issue.

runs ok on tx 1060 6gb laptop with i7 4 cores and 32gb ram. on 1080p still trying to find whats eats more fps and whats gives better , but im ok with 30-40fps for now on most high , very high and ultra textures out there. shadows medium . for this kind of gameplay im ok with 30-40fps rly
just why textures goes to lower res or blurry so fast when you look far away, look close on ground all hi res good quality, just look away all becomes not that good looking . is it textures filtering or smt ?

I kind of like it but Jesus it’s such a technical mess (playing on 1X).
The constant texture streaming issues give me a headache, the frame rate tanks when driving, the HDR implementation is a disaster, loading times are atrocious and generally speaking the game is just uglier than Odyssey was a year ago.
I have no idea what kind of development hell this game went through but it looks REALLY rough.
Edit: I also really doubt this is anywhere close to native 4K resolution.

That's strange, I thought only the base machines struggle with it. I wonder how it plays on the nextgen machines. We should know by now, though...
Edit: it's one of the best looking open world games IMO, thanks to the detailed world and lighting but on base ps4 the image quality sucks and it tears a lot. Sometimes it feels like it wants to fall apart. I really should wait to play it on nextgen, but I'm enjoying London too much.

Wow - thanks for sharing this video. It is such an interesting example of how permadeath gives the game greater depth. I was on the fence about getting this game, but the thought of trying it with permadeath on seems like it would be a really interesting to play. I can see playing this over Christmas.

Interestingly, shortly after I posted the game crashed during a loading screen, and after restarting it ran a lot better, so it might be a memory leak issue or anything related to suspend/resume.
I still think the game looks quite dull compared to Odyssey, especially the water effects which look an entire generation behind it. And HDR implementation feels either bad or non-existent.
I'm still having a lot of fun with it, maybe the spider bot is a bit overpowered though - seems like in most missions you can do everything with it and there's zero risk involved.

Strange. HDR is awesome in this game for me, despite when I got my TV in July I even made a thread that in most games I can barely see any difference. Don't you have the same problem that we talked about here? The washed out look? I have to change hdmi video range to limited for ubi games for some reason for hdr to look properly and not washed out.
The water and character models don't look good, yeah, but London itself is the star of this game. It's beautifully recreated. I just had the same tour virtually I had in real life and it's exactly how I remember the city and its famous locations. I may sound a bit too enthusiastic but London is my favorite city and the game makes me very nostalgic. My only problem is that this needs the nextgen consoles, but I can't stop playing it.

So apparently permadeath and hard mode change this into an incredible experience that is completely missed if you don’t go this route. Anyone have an opinion on this?

Haven't played, but was always planning to go the permadeath route. Not sure about Normal/Hard mode though. I know they said you can turn on Permadeath, but once it's enabled it can't be turned off (or maybe it was the other way around?

I couldn't stand Watchdogs 2. Literally just play as emo teens killing hundreds and hundreds of people in San Francisco. Also, not really a fan of how they captured the Bay Area. Though I may have a different perspective as I was living in the Bay Area when it came out and I just didn't like what they did at all. Reinstalled it a month ago and my feelings hadn't changed.
