Hey Geordie, what do you think about this latest report from dualshockers that AC Valhalla is upscaled 4K 60fps on PS5 while the Ubisoft website just says it as 4K 60fps on both platforms?

Well if it was sony first party open worlld like spiderman it would be 4k60 and solid.

Ubisoft, well here is a 2080ti on these engines from DF
The RTX 2080 Ti is able to manage 75fps at 1440p, but only 52fps at 4K - so if you want a 4K/60 experience, you'll need to stump up for a second RTX 2080 Ti in your system, get an ever faster CPU than our 4.7GHz Core i7-8700K or - perhaps most sensibly - turn down the graphical settings just a tad.

Lets face it, neither system will be + 20 % of a 2080ti / 3070 and a 4.7 GHz CPU.....

Unless ubi games have changed engines and optimised the hell and back....lol

Assassin's Creed Valhalla has been confirmed to hit the same benchmarks across both Xbox Series X and PS5, although the latter console is said to be upscaled 4K

Upscaled 4k? 👀

Right last one for many an hour, i am in a good mood today.

No idea what they are saying, who cares, Enjoy.

there you go. i am tempted to go back and post the replies to me saying ray tracing was confirmed on the xsx by the watch dogs dev. some folks just didnt want to believe it.

i swear the discourse on this board has gone to shit. stop trying to wish the other console must fail for your favorite console to succeed.

I thought that was the Series S where it was SSR they were talking about and some claimed it was ray traced?

no, this was in the watch dogs AMA thread where the developer confirmed both games were native 4k 30 fps with ray tracing but some people still didnt want to believe it.

its so silly.

“just a remaster”
I mean.. it is a remaster... an excellent one, but a remaster.

(meaning they didn't actually have to make a game, design levels, etc.... the budget much smaller than a typical game... Sony is gonna profit handsomely off of this at $70/90)

Why would they not believe what was stated ? Odd

You would think MS would of got this out earlier, but at least its there now.

Remake.

Not remaster.
I guess that's... kinda fair?

But didn't they use loads of assets from the original game? They obviously didn't have to design a game or levels or any of the other aspects either way. But yeah maybe remake is more accurate than remaster (I know it's what Sony calls it of course, but these things are often overblown)

If people still don't know the difference between a remaster and a remake, there simply is no point in explaining...

It wasn't the point that RT had been confirmed people disagreed with, but that you said we'd seen it in games already and until now we hadn't. Looks damn fine now we have though. Now can they please confirm RT is going to be available for MineCraft please!

Upscaled 4k? 👀

It will be interesting, because in PC, they recommend RTX 2080 Super to run this game in 2k (1440p) 60fps. I really don't think will run in native 4k in Xbox Series X.

Please explain how could you use assets of a PS3 game on a PS5 game, without looking like crap?

They did get the PS3 game running on PS5 to ensure that it feels the same. The AI is the same, animation pacing is the same, no asset was reused though. Voices (they did get most of the original cast to do the recording), music and assets all remade.

I get it; I just wasn't really thinking about the difference in terms.

My point is it's far cheaper to make either way than a game from scratch. Remaster or remake the actual game is fully designed, levels, characters, etc.

I'm not talking about visual assets or even audio assets.

Levels, items and their stats.. other scripting elements.. engine assets, etc.

define loads of assets, please.

Xbox Series X confirmed footage.

*forgot to add* watch it in motion, only 2 images are clear, HQ
-Aliasing during most of the scenes
-heavy use of motion blur
-at one point missing light on the car
-big surface building = no use of RT?
-some weird stuff going on during that fight, check the seams at 1min30 (left)
-some seconds of non series X footage, not sure why

God, this sounds GOOD. Recorded at AIR Studios and featuring the amazing organ at Temple Church. Quality stuff.

They seem to have made the quiet themes loud and epic, and the loud ones in the original less so in the remake.

Can't say that I was impressed with the Vanguard's theme or the Giant Spider's, but the Flamelurker's is amazing. Astraea's also sounds very very nice, and I want to hear the Storm King's. By a LOT.
