PS5 seems to be sharper and more detailed with XSX having finer details mushed. Look at the scar under his left eye (on the right). Seems the source on PS5 is coming from a higher resolution.
Should I donate you to use Photoshop? It's just 15 buck per month, you can DO IT.

Should I play Dark Souls 3 first now that it’s a rock solid 60?!??
Sadly no X patch for 60fps, but damn DS3 is soo good.

You’re right, the PS5 downloads go full tilt saturating the entire bandwidth, leaving barely anything for the game bandwidth. With 2 ps5’s in the house and lots of redownloading things got grim real fast.
..

Thanks for the details. Makes sense. Out of curiosity ... what's your connection like? I've a bi-di Gig connection at home, let's see if the PS5 can saturate that :)

and who says you just didn’t switch the images? Also, if you have to zoom in 800% then your point is invalid.

I really don’t have to zoom or do anything to see the difference between 120fps (XSX) and 60 fps (PS5) in CoD Warzone and rocket league - one of the biggest multiplayer games on earth.
Oh boy, here we go again.
-No cross gen save transfer
-No HDMI 2.1
-No 120fps
What's next, no ray tracing?

It looks like both Warzone and Rocket League are running in BC mode which is capped at 60fps.
Anything that needs to be done, is on the developers not Sony or the PS5.

So far, PS5 looks to be the Worlds Most Powerful Console based on the games, not the spec sheet.
Let the games do the talking.

A wise man once said -
"Teraflops is defined as the computational capability of the vector ALU. That's just one part of the GPU, there are a lot of other units "

I’m not sure it matters that much overall. But DeS is the start of the series so I’d start there too.

DS3 is still decent looking so I don’t think DeS will spoil it for you when you come to play it.

Unless you haven’t played DS1 in which case do that after DeS.

My downloads load have been fast and crisp so far, then the PS App tells me when it is done. However, I’m only getting 383 Mbps instead of 1 gig. Although I don’t know much about internet speeds. What do you mean stop doing that don’t do it again
384mbps. Lol...man first world problems, am right? 😜

Cod coldest 120fps looks great for team death match small maps. On larger maps like war zone I think the image starts to fall apart with distance. I’m curious to see what war zone xsex looks like. Still very cool to see on console. Side note I didn’t notice a lot of pop in lCold War campaign 4k 60.

Some wireless headphones seem to be supported better than others, I would suggest you try it turning it on again after the new firmware patch is out, hopefully before Christmas, or use a cheap wired headset in the DualSense for now, it will use the audio chip in the controller, and gives great results!.
Hyper x alpha's are wired

Thanks for the tips. But there is no way I can play dark souls 1. Too much of a graphics snob these days.

That’s a shame. It really is great in terms of gameplay.

I played the DS1 PS4 version which runs at 60fps. Getting to DS3 at 30fps was jarring at first.

I think since DS3 is 60fps for you now it won’t matter which order you play them in. DS3 still looks good but ... if you are worried about the graphics maybe it would be better to start at DS3.

DS3 is about 80 or 90 hours. I think DeS will be a bit shorter than that.

Enjoy 👍

PS5 HDMI capability

Sony-new-8k-PS5-Ready-TV.jpg

As we mentioned above, the PS5's HDMI cable and port are the HDMI 2.1 standard, which means the cable can transfer data much faster than a regular HDMI port.

To get into the specifics here, this means on a technical side that the PS5's 2.1 HDMI has a bandwidth of 48Gbps, which is almost three times more than a 2.0b.

This is what allows it to support 8K video at 60fps and 4K video at 60-120fps (depending on the game you're playing).

Antiax From Era

Xbox apologised to Arek and confirmed that they will send him new console on Monday. This guy got so much hate (including death threats) underservedly, even here on ResetERA. Embarassing and disappointing.

Snippets:
-he doesn’t even smoke lol
-heard boiling water like sound from the Xbox, went to make breakfast and when he came back there was smoke
-disappointed how everyone called him liar or some prankster
-he is just a normal guy, he doesn’t know how to handle insane hate from the internet
-Xbox contacted him (asked if he called fire departament lmao) but went silent after that vape counter video

Death threats? That's extreme!

The intervierw:

Turn on CC and use auto English translation to understand some:

Hope he sues them for their cheap attitude.

its bloodydisgusting, i mean there were a couple of people on here saying this is a really serious issue, only to be met with the usual its a fucking troll, he's lying bla bla bla. by certain xbox can do no wrong as per ususal. You know who you are on here, shame on you when you read this.

As for the death threats, i actually hope he reports them to the police. No one should ever have to put up with that, i hope xbox send him a life time subscription mode to game pass or gives him an elite controller to kinda make things right for the guy, that would be awesome of them

Sinthor Sinthor can you tell me anything about Godfall? I was eyeing that game but so far reviews have been far from good.

Where are the MS with the same level of loadtimes as Demon’s Souls or Miles Morales?

Being in the UK I don't get my PS5 until Thursday, but have an XSX. The optimised FH4 does have some really impressive fast travel times - couple of seconds at a guess. From the DF video not so well optimised outside that though.

i really dislike the message and party system. it should always be one click away. i like that you can interact with the popup but if i want to ignore the message, let me get to it quick.
I like the idea of parties / chats getting pinned. Beginning to make sense the more u use it. Clever

From what I can gather, if you like loot grinds you'll enjoy it. I love Path of Exile and the (first two) Diablos. I'm a loot whore so it sounds right up my alley.

Snow present on legs and feet on PS4, Xbox Series X and PC but missing from PS5... Strange it's a cross platform game, so why present on PS4 but not PS5... Seems fishy to me 🤔

Maybe the PS5 capture is too dark. 🤷‍♂️

they are so desperate, i mean my god hahahah. That assassins creed video really did kick them straight in the nuts.

I wish i could be listening to one of there little emergency meetings with them trying to figure out what to do.

I would like some more opinions on this.. do u guys think it's safe for me to use the ps5 as a headset stand? I don't think the headset is squeezing the console at all and this is only for when the console is off

Man, stop being so paranoid and just enjoy the thing. It will be fine.

If your PS5 is going to fail, its going to be a hardware/software issue. There's no sense coddling it to the point of being afraid to use it. If its going to fail, it will fail.

Wtf is your problem?

Because this seems to be your first console launch.

like every gen the first launch titles will be lazy ports. Unoptimized and don’t even use a fraction of the potential power of the console.
we will see game that will perform much better than the super GPU, because devs optimize for console.
But this won’t happen at launch. It will take some time. Like every single gen so far, since this seems to be your first launch, you couldn’t know, but now you do.

These aren't exotic consoles anymore

Developers are moving from x64 systems to another set of x64 systems

They might not be getting EVERYTHING they can from the system, but if you think it's just a fraction then you're hopelessly naive

Then why it performs better on 2060s? Ubisoft fucked console ports, but PC port is good? Gaf told me that Ubisoft on PC is fucked too.
And we don't even talking about DLSS.
It's doing better on Nvidia because no dev has used Amd's Radeon Rays intersection library yet. Most are already familiar with the Dxr rt library used by Nvidia as it's already been around since 2018. Radeon Rays hasn't been utilised properly in games, yet, so it's understandable why it might not run well on hardware utilising Amd gpus. Give it time, Rdna 2 is Amd's first foray into rt acceleration so it may or may not be hit or miss early on. Let's not jump the gun this early on.

Was this posted?

So it seems some games will need a new version rather than just a simple patch which explains a lot about missing performance modes in games like SW Squadrons, Rocket League, etc. Probably will end up being released some time afterwards.
One way to look at it, an encouragement for devs to create next gen version.

That will be amazing if true. I just think many people underestimate Nvidia without a good reason. AMD is far smaller company so whole situation is fully understandable. They did their best.

This article is wrong, a 2.0 hdmi port can send 4k 60hz HDR without problems (4k 30 is wrong), it can send signal of 4k 60hz 4:2:2 10 bit and you are good to go.

HDMI 2.1 is just if you want to reach that 4k 120hz, but honestly, most games will not reach such high FPS... I think, for this gen, 4k 120hz is not needed, however, if games start to support VRR out of the gate, hdmi 2.1 is the goal for your next gen gameplay (but that we have to wait if its implemented in a title by title basis or it's a feature that once is active you can use on whatever game you want, I think ps5 exclusives will still use some type of sync, to eliminate tearing).

Let’s just hold on a moment here.

The poor performance of the Xsex isn’t necessarily a reflection on AMDs next GPUs.

At Hot Chips, MS showed an RT solution that shared silicon with the TMUs. That seemed to be based on an AMD white paper from last year. A kind of hybrid solution rather than dedicated RT hardware.

The thing is, at the RDNA2 presentation AMD presented GPUs with entirely separate RT silicon according to the block diagrams shown.

All we know about PS5 so far is that Cerny said it uses AMD’s RDNA2 RT solution.

So right now I think we’re still waiting to see exactly what RDNA2 is and what the PS5 has...
