Nvidia RTX 30XX |OT|

Do we know if Nvidia will sell their 30 Series FEs again in the future? How long are these usually available from them? Is it true they stopped selling them for the moment (on their own site)?

I snagged a nice priced 3070 to tide me while the shortages end (515€) and even though the 4k performance is not spectacular, 1440p performance is great - and DLSS is fucking black magic. Control goes from a slideshow to fluid 4k60

I originally thought this would last me until the mid gen refresh, but if DLSS becomes more commonplace, it can honestly last me the whole generation.

IT HAPPENED :D

JbAolwg.png

I had been F5-ing Amazon.de for two months to the day, and then yesterday I saw the Zotac 3080 OC available directly from them, with an expected shipping date of November 26th. Price was "797,97 instead of 975".... yeah, that's €98 more than the €699 I had preordered the card for on launch day, but we all know what happened to those twenty thousand preorders... And some of you may remember that Amazon somehow deleted my Amazon balance of €700 I had set aside for it when I asked for a refund, and only my escalation mail to Jeff@amazon.com got me my money back. What an odyssey... And with my luck, and the Bundy Curse, the DHL van the card gets loaded in will probably explode on its way to me or be held up by corona for a week because the driver tests positive lol

Oh and after I'd bought the card, it was available for maybe one more minute, and went back to being out out of stock again. A couple of minutes later I got an E-Mail from Amazon, and I was like "FUCKKKK, THEY'VE CANCELLED MY ORDER AGAIN!", but no, the mail was a notification that the expected delivery date had changed from the 26th to the 19th or 20th. Nice :)

Prices are just crazy. A while after my purchase, two Zotacs became available again, but from a third party vendor and at like €1299 or so. Looking at Amazon.de now, even 3070s are €1000+ now... I'm so so so happy I happened to check for a card during the minute it was available.

Man, when that card arrives here, it's installed, the PC boots, and I've tested it for a while without any issues, I'm going to get drunk to celebrate or something :p

Fuck Zotac. Ordered my RTX 3080 on 11/5, contacted them on Friday about the Call of Duty code, and they still haven't sent it to me. Was hoping to play the game by Monday at the latest, but at the rate they're going they may not even respond until the end of the week. As a result I haven't even used my RTX 3080, as I wanted to wait until I got the CoD code to install it.

Am I supposed to get one of those codes, too? What do I have to do to get it?

LOL @ choosing to wait to use an amazing graphics card for one particular game but getting angry at the supplier of the game's redemption code because they're "prolonging" your lack of use of said graphics card.

Give it here, I’m a Zotac man.

Stupid question: What is, in your opinion, a good price for a 3080 card? Obviously we're not getting anywhere near "MSRP" right now and in the foreseeable future..

This is a very subjective question, depending on how budget limited you are. From what we've seen, these cards are all very close to each other. So max +-5% performance differences from the 700 FE to most OC cards which can easily cost 850 bucks.
I've paid 829 Euro (3080 Gainward Phoenix GS), but received my card like three weeks after launch so I was worth it for me.
But cards which cost 100 bucks less are just a couple percent slower.

Personally, I would not pay scalper prices or anything higher than 850 bucks. I would wait until stock gets better.

At many German retailers, prices start at 880, and I have a feeling these won't go down - at all. For some reason German retailers are very "conservative", to put it kindly, when it comes to pricing such products. It seems in the US prices react much quicker and much more reliably to changes in the marketplace - demand and supply.

Yes you can, stop lying to yourself. Join telegram groups, get distill and let it run in the background/2nd monitor. That way you eventually catch a Founder's Edition drop.

Thanks for the tip, distill already running since days. Not even once have I received a notification for Nvidias own storefront getting new stock for the FE. I'll keep trying.

Seems there's been a big drop of 3090's, sites have them on open sale - Scan shifted a few 3070's overnight too, some queues dropped up to 50 places by the looks of things.

My frustration is now with Asus, those queues haven't moved for shit in the last month, moved 40 spaces in 4 weeks from 222 to 182

use dedicated discords for drops and telegram groups. thats how i got the notification for a FE drop

I can't believe it, I followed all of your recommendations and managed so get a 3080 FE for MSRP just a couple hours later at Germanys official Nvidia partner/reseller for these cards. Thanks a ton!

My advice to anyone would be to sign up for EvGA's notifiction queue; they'll eventually get back to you. I signed up on October 5th and they got back to me on November 9th.

For what, a 3090?

EVGA is still working through the wait list requests for 9/17, for the 3080.

3090 Kingpin notification will be going up soon apparently.

Weird thing is, isn't ampere crap in regards to overclocking? I assume it will cost $2k as well. Not sure who the audience here is, like 0.1% of pc gamers.

Reminder! EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 K|NGP|N notify queue will kick off starting tomorrow 11/20 at 6AM PT! Initial batch will be exclusive for EVGA ELITE members and WILL be limited in supply. Not an EVGA ELITE member? Learn more at https://t.co/Ncy6aKFU5C https://t.co/UGfoLso2jB

What's their CS like for RMA's (I don't have an RMA currently, just wondering)? I only ever buy EVGA and MSI stuff.
I’ve never had to deal with that, so I couldn’t tell you. But I would hope they provide reasonable CS for issues out of the consumer’s control.

People buy it cause they're dumb and want the top of the top card. Or they're extreme OCers who are going to add LN2.

Is a 3070 a good buy for 3440x1440?

Virtually every game I've seen will run at 60+ FPS with it at that resolution. But the 3080 pumps out a good 15-20 more frames for only $200 more.

Is the difference between 60 FPS and 80 FPS worth it? My monitor's refresh rate is 100 hz, so I can take advantage of it.

After yesterday's benchmark reviews of AMD cards is going to get even harder to get a 3000 series.

Patrick S. Patrick S. - enjoy and share some pictures once installed! 🍻

Thanks man :)

1080p because my 4k screen is in another room right now. Max everything, DLSS off. (Forgot to rename a few things in the OSD, that's why it still says GTX 1080 in places :p)

I've got the Trinity OC 3080 and it is great!

What's weird is that on the website it says "Boost frequency: 1725 MHz", yet mine boosts to around 1900 MHz without me having touched any OC settings. Not complaining :p

My colleague, who was super envious of me getting the Zotac the other day, managed to grab an EVGA 3080 FTW from Alternate.de today for €979. The card was available for like a minute, as usual. Now I'm envious because I want that EVGA lol. Already told him I'll give him €200 plus my Zotac for it. He said he'll think about it, but in the end, I'm really happy with my card. Looks good, boosts nice, and after registering it with Zotac I have five years of warranty on it, which is awesome.

My EVGA (non-FTW) boosts up to around 1850 (sometimes higher), too, which is about 100mhz higher than advertised. It was a very nice surprise the first time I noticed. :)

Does anyone know when Doom Eternal will receive it's raytracing patch? The devs promised it upon launch, but I haven't heard anything about it since then.

I did it ... *sniff ... next gen starts for me now too. Ive never been so happy to unfollow a twitter account. ive been refreshing amazon pages for weeks, checking different retailers etc. Had a couple close calls and my perseverance paid off. Now to test this bad boy for a couple weeks and assuming nothing blows up, sell my 1080 while it still holds some good value.

Congrats! I got £385 for my 1080Ti - and the guy didn't even put an offer in!

GerAlt-Right. Ciriously.
Ya im thinking price it at around EUR 320ish and sell it on FB marketplace to avoid any EBay fees and get it done quickly. I just sold a 970 on there 2 weeks ago actually
I gave up real quick selling anything on FB Marketplace. I got nothing but shady messages.

managed to get my Asus 3080 TUF OC to 2100mhz on 3DMark with +120mhz OC. But while gaming, it drops to 1950-1965mhz when on 99% load. Only stays at 2100mhz when on 90% or lower GPU load. So with +120mhz or +50mhz OC, I get the same 1950mhz while gaming. I think thats the power limit kicking in.

Try undervolting while OC, you should stay below power limit more often

I bought my 2060 Super for ~1040PLN in september, now I can sell it for like ~1600PLN - what a time to be alive :pie_thinking: :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Seems like Ampere is already dead for 4K60. Reaching 4K60 is not even with DLSS possible at max settings and Raytracing on a 3090 in Cyberpunk.

1440p DLSS is needed for 60 FPS.
