Yeah but PS5 is at 1440p minimum, series X needs help so they patched it to allow it to drop 1080 but it's not dropping that low regularly.
VGtech said the lowest they found for PS5 was 1380p, but normally around 1440p. DF said that they saw around 1180p for XSX, so it must be dropping to that in all of those heavy scenes considering that the frame-rate did significantly improve after the patch. So with all that in mind, and the v-sync and settings differences, I think my old 1080ti is absolutely holding it's own against the consoles especially the XSX.

I'm sure as the generation goes on the situation will change as games get more optimised for the consoles.

I can't speak to that as I down own a gaming PC rig but in benchmarks the PS5 is around the same settings at 60fps as 2080ti is doing. This is according to mores lore is dead who is a PC dude so I'm inclined to believe him on that.

Consoles will get better as developers code to the metal but out the gate for 400 digital or 500 pyshical it's pretty impressive for a cross gen game that's Barley taking advantage of them.

MLID tends to exaggerate these things. The consoles are not matching 2080ti. I'm sure the PS5 is better than a 1080ti when all is said and done, but at least for now, in these multiplats the performance is very similar.

I'm gonna try and find the exact settings the consoles are using and try to match them on PC. The problem is that the dynamic resolution option doesn't seem to be working as intended on PC so it makes it difficult to exactly match the consoles.

The consoles are not quite 2080 Ti level of performance, but close to 2080 Super level. Between a 2080 and 2080S on average in most games (non-RT.) Close enough to the new RTX 3060 Ti thats $400-$500 (and thats just 1 part of a PC obvi.)

For what the PS5 costs, $400 or $500, its an excellent value in gaming performance. And since 4K UHD Blu-ray players usually cost like $200, that $100 extra for disc model isn't even that bad.

Yeah he might do, I'm not sure but in DF original AC video I think Alex mentioned the PC briefly but can't remember of the top of my head the settings he said the console's were at compared to it.

So I ended up setting resolution scale to 70% of native 4k resolution, which is around 1500p. And settings are all 'Very High', except for AA at Low. And that just about gets me a somewhat stable 60 fps, with rare drops. I think that's a pretty good match for the consoles.

Yup, the value proposition is the whole point here.

Look at how terrible value PC gpus are in comparison. Hell imagine having bought a 2080ti or a 2080s, and now have to deal with the reality that these consoles are 499$, and a 3060ti is also sub 500$. Hell those were 800$-1000$ cards just months ago, unbelievable.

Anyone remember this leak?!

Looks pretty legit 🤨

It has a lot right. Some pretty easy stuff to guess too I suppose. Does seem like COVID changed plans up drastically. The backwards compatibility section is interesting to me, makes me because almost everything else was so on point. Even at the road to Ps5 the backwards compatibility slide seemed to deliberately leave room for more than ps4 and ps4 pro.

What?! Oh my God!

THE FOLLOWING STUDY THAT YOU WILL PURCHASE IS CONFIRMED

MICROSOFT: IT WILL BE ... KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS!

Following Microsoft's purchase of Bethesda, the Redmond folks continue their tireless search for new companies to incorporate into the Xbox Studios family. And be careful, nice guys, because the next studio to join Phil Spencer's team won't be Sega-related, as was originally rumored. The chosen one will be neither more nor less than Kojima Productions, the company directed by Hideo Kojima himself, former gardener and head of the Metal Gear saga. How does your body fit? For now, this historic agreement has not transpired to the vast majority of the media, but our insider information suggests that it will be made official

during The Game Awards 2020 gala, which will be broadcast on December 10 via streaming. This is how his regular presenter, Geoff Keighley, has let us glimpse, in confidence, of course, who has also hinted that the announcement will be accompanied by the first trailer of the new studio project, which will presumably come out in the second half of 2022 and, for the first time in its history exclusively on Xbox consoles Oh, mother. The one that is going to roll!

For anyone wondering, deleting dlc is much easier now. On PS4 you couldn't do this and had to delete the whole damn game and reinstall just the base game (notice how it's still not possible on PS4 versions of a game like FFXV).

Imagine Kojima that asks too much money, time and patience for a single-player to be bought by the worse gaming publishers. You don't even need a brain to know this is BS.
I can imagine some people who don't know any better falling for it. The photoshop manipulation in that image seems impressive though. Even though we know that it's only someone's wet dream!!! Some game journalism website is desperate for clicks.

They can buy Kojima Production very easily, but we know that Microsoft isn't a Single-player, story-driven company. They only go for microtransactions, multiplayer, and gamepass fillers. Man, even PS Now is extremely superior to Gamepass if you look at what's being offered. If you don't play on playstation you really didn't experience what gaming has become. But hey, many people enjoy generic games.

I doubt Kojima would accept an acquisition deal by Microsoft. He demands loads of time to make his games, even more so than Microsoft could offer. Plus he's had a much more intimate relationship with Sony since his days at Konami. That's simply some random games journalism website that's desperate for clicks and nothing more. In addition to that Kojipro is in breathing distance to Sony's headquarters in Japan and i doubt Sony will make it that easy for Microsoft given their relationship with Kojipro.

PS5 Price Was Decided in Early 2020, Pre-Lockdown, and Never Changed; Big Games Will Come Earlier

In an interview with EDGE (January 2021, issue 352), Sony Interactive Entertainment president and CEO Jim Ryan revealed that the PS5 price was decided before COVID lockdowns and never changed at all.
We fixed on our product lineup late last year. Our preferred pricing was determined early in this calendar year, prelockdown. And we just got on and executed with what we wanted to do.
No, no, it didn’t [change], no. We’ve been able to launch PlayStation 5 at $399, €399, with all the horsepower and the feature set that the console has, at the same price that we launched PS4 back in 2013. That was important for us, and we’re very happy that we’ve been able to do that. 399 worked very well for us last time round and we’d like it to work very well for us this time round, too.

After talking about the PS5 price, Ryan highlighted that after what he called 'the best PlayStation launch lineup ever', the PS5 will also get big titles much earlier than the PS4 did, starting next year.
The other thing I’d say is that the 2021 lineup is likewise of a different level than we’ve ever seen before. People rightly point back to our firstparty Worldwide Studios games as being one of the defining things about the PS4 generation. But often less remarked upon is the fact that the really great first party games came in the second part of the cycle. And we will have games of that quality, but we’re going to have them earlier in the cycle this time around.

He's 100% right about PS4 1st party games vs PS5 1st party. PS4 didn't start getting must play 1st party games til 2016-17, except 1 or 2 games.. PS5 will have those games in 2020-21 and on. Big difference.
