This is the next step in building an industry-leading first party studios team, a commitment we have to our Xbox community. With the addition of the Bethesda creative teams, gamers should know that Xbox consoles, PC, and Game Pass will be the best place to experience new Bethesda games, including some new titles in the future that will be exclusive to Xbox and PC players.
We will have more to share about what’s next for our teams later this year. In the meantime, to properly celebrate this special moment, we are bringing additional Bethesda games into Xbox Game Pass later this week. Stay tuned for more details!
On an individual game basis it makes no difference. If The Last of Us released on Xbox, Sony wouldn't stop making good games either.Outside of a pissing contest, why do xbox fans care if bethesda games are exclusive or not? It really doesnt change a thing in that persons life at all.
Sony to be purchased by Microsoft? Can't wait to play the later, worse versions on PS5

Well, it seems as though that's what they're going to keep doing, minus some games that are exclusive.People really think Microsoft donated 7.2 billion to Zenimax so they can just keep making multiplatform games? Lol

Well there you have it. Many of these titles will probably still be multi-plat at least for now, but some will be ecosystem exclusive. Probably moving more in the exclusive direction over time. At least if you read that statement at face value, we'll see how it goes down the line.
That's fair enough. If it were me I would have gone 100% full exclusive, but as long as they get some marketable exclusives out of it (Starfield?), it's still a good get for the brand.

I really like that idea.If they do that they should put it on Xcloud as well, since they treat mobile different than console. Gamepass PC/Mobile day one and Gamepass console when the contract expires.
I'm actually not sure about Starfield (and Wolf3 which is expected to be released this year). If it's planned to be launched this year then PS version is almost done, so they could decide to release it anyway.Phil's comment was covering for future announced titles that are under contract such as Ghostwire Tokyo and Deathloop that are coming to PS5. ESO is probably included in that as well as they don't want to lock out existing customers.
All new big IPs will be Microsoft exclusive. ES6, Starfield and Indiana Jones are Xbox exclusive.
Vague statements as usual. No direct answer yet lol

A vague statement. Remember they're still honoring pre-acquistion deals like Death Loop.
Don't expect a direct answer for awhile
Those games weren't announced. Many games get developed for platforms and never see the light of day.I'm actually not sure about Starfield (and Wolf3 which is expected to be released this year). Well, I don't agree that we don't know anything more than yesterday. We now know there will be "some" exclusive titles, we didn't know that yesterday per se.
True, true. They seem to be giving themselves a lot of wiggle room.
They seem to be putting a lot of emphasis on trying not to screwup Bethesda in general post merger, so that's good.
case by case vs. some
not much of a difference
what was this show called???
Only mobile and small titles will be GamePass exclusive.Well, but according to Sony faithful there weren't going to be any exclusive titles (MS couldn't afford it). At least they were somewhat firm that that is not the case.
what people seem to forget here as well is Nintendo btw.
when people think of games that aren't exclusive they immediately jump to "it's coming to PS5", but what about the Switch/Switch Pro?
there already have been multiple games that Microsoft published and financed that came to Switch.
ID Tech 7 runs on Switch, so ID Tech games could be ported over no problem most likely
MS hasn't put any of their own titles on there though, have they (excluding minecraft)? Ori and Cuphead were made by studios not under MS's control, so while MS could have forced exclusivity due to the publishing arrangements, that would have soured the relationship with those developers. I'm sure MS is hoping to work with Moon on their next projects as well.
They don’t. Just that they don’t appear on PS consoles. The assumption is that because they were purchased these games are now synonymous with the x brand. We know that’s not the case since 7 years later nobody associates bayonetta with Nintendo, especially like Mario or even pokemon. This is similar to prelaunch when the series x was supposed to wipe the floor with PS and now we have parity and it’s too much to take. Same here. Anything less than absolutely all games being made exclusive will be a big loss. There are 1 million “you don’t spend 7.5 billion dollars to release games on a competitor platform...” posts that fully expect 100% exclusivity and won’t accept less.Outside of a pissing contest, why do xbox fans care if bethesda games are exclusive or not? It really doesnt change a thing in that persons life at all.
