Wouldn't be surprised. Seems pretty standard with the Series X.

WiFi on the PS5 is fucking useless. It used to take a solid 15-20 minutes to recognize our 5G WiFi now it can't connect to it at all. A lot of troubleshooting has resulted in jackshit. Going to have to figure out how to run a hardline throughout the house as the modem is located in the basement.
Why would you even use 5G to connect your PS5 if the router is in the basement? That's just DUMB.

I don't think this is possible without patching every game. But maybe Sony will surprise us positively (I don't think so, although I would love to be wrong).
Just want to say kudos for being here, know it's probably frowned upon in your industry and you probably get a fair bit of schtick for stating some truths.

But it's good to see someone in the industry on the forum, it's understandable that you can't say much but your posts are always interesting reads nonetheless.

Unless your PS5 is part of the tiny percentage that is defective it isn't the PS5 causing the issue. The PS5's wifi can top-out a full 380Mbit connection at our house and sustain it over massive 10s of gigabyte downloads and can probably match whatever broadband we could get

If you are going through more than 1 solid floor or wall - towards your router - 5GHz probably isn't the right choice, and 2.4GHz will give you better range (and possibly throughput) progressively as you head back down towards 802.11n,g and b transfer modes - until find the optimal mode with reliable range/throughput.

ps5 drops (rarely) at 1440cbr at the worst. No way native 1440p on series X can give the same smoothness, imo. From 2160p to 1080p would be dramatic and very noticeable.
On PS5 the res is usually 1800p (CBR) during combat with almost locked 60fps. I think on XSX it's going to be around <1440p during combat with possible framerate drops.

I hope you are wrong.

I do too. I sold my PSVR1 but still have plenty of amazing games for it. Plus more and more are releasing.

I don't think this is possible without patching every game. But maybe Sony will surprise us positively (I don't think so, although I would love to be wrong).

It seems it would require some extremely potent API black magic spells to make it work

"..Samsung Electronics that has the finest GAA technology"
I think finest technology has ASML, Zeiss (lenses) and couple japan companies (Photolitography equip, photo mask and fotoresist). Japan covers >90% of 7nm fotoresist market (2 gen above Korean). Sony at now produce most advance optics, sometimes better than Canon and Nikon (new 1224, 50F12) so if Canon and Nikon produce photolitography machines that could means that Sony probably can make most advance equipment for their silicon (e.g. CMOS). [photolithography = laser+lens]

I think it doesn't work with PS4 Games (can't see if Destiny 2 is a PS5 version) because they are handled as HDD games. Haven't noticed long copying times with my PS5 games.
Well, my Nioh 2 on PS5 updated a couple of nights ago and definitely did the copy thing. Then again, maybe that's because Nioh 2 Remastered is both editions? I dunno.

If this is true then Starfield will definitely be on PS5/PS4. Means the game was pretty much done a few months ago and this is polishing and bug fixing time. We shall see! I'm very curious to see what Starfield ends up actually being. I'm guessing pretty much Elder Scrolls in space, but you never know...they might be trying something new.

Can I say something triggering?

It looks MEH! :p
I think it's fine that they have more female lead characters in games...I've read a LOT of people on forums that aren't so happy. I mean, I get it. I don't want ANY specific character shoehorned into a game just to score social justice points, for example. BUT, I do feel that unless the story of a game is very specifically tailored for a certain character identity that you should be able to PICK the character. Like Nioh 2, or Demon's Souls Remake for example. You can be male, female and even something in between if you wish and the game still works as well as the story. Ok, maybe something like Days Gone needed to be that specific character and not let you create your own. Even then, we have the technology now. Could have had Days Gone and sure it's a biker guy but you could pick the black biker guy if you wanted, or the Asian or Indian biker guy....know what I mean? I think it is cool when you can be presented with as much choice as possible.

I also can't figure out how with these cameras we STILL don't have the ability to capture our own faces with the camera and have the in-game character mapped to that picture! In SOME cases at least, it would be pretty cool to be playing ME throughout the game. At least for SOME games. :)

Anyway, this game looks interesting to me. The bit with the dragon was pretty funny, I thought. Good reaction that someone from our world today would have if thrust into that situation. :)

- The 3 versions have 2 display modes: 4K / 30FPS (1440p on S Series) and some improved settings or variable 4K at 60FPS (1080p on S Series).
- 4K / 30FPS mode has slight improvement in reflections, textures, particles, draw distance and shadows.
- In 4K / 30FPS mode they all experience some small drops in resolution, although they keep the target set most of the time, especially Series X.
- In FPS mode, for the first few minutes of the game, the PS5 resolution varies between 3840x2160 and 2560x1440p, but as soon as we get to the Quinjet and start missions with more open and loaded spaces, the usual resolution becomes dynamic 1920x2160p, while on X Series it stays at dynamic 3840x1836p. In this case, there is a clear advantage in the Xbox version.
- In FPS mode, Series X maintains a higher draw distance.
- Slightly better loading times on PS5.
- The framerate is quite stable in both modes, slightly better on PS5.

A dynamic CBR become dynamically natively 1920x2160p? Or it's a glitch or he said a bullshit. I really really doubt FPS is quite stable on series X at that resolution claimed anyway. Seems a lot guesses by him (as always) spread as factual data. People should really take with a big grain of salts whatever he claims

Possible that's a bug, I don't think he is really bullshitting because we can see the "artifacts" for example in such screen :

Artifacts are always present on CBR. Knowing his ignorance has named 2160cbr as was 1920x2160p natively...if you look to the series S shot you can see less jaggies even compared ps5. Unfortunately with higher contrast/crossed fine edges, CBR leans to show visible aliasing.

People thinking that the (substantial) resolution difference is due to 'superior power' of XSX are delusional beyond repair, there is no such a gap between these machines. This is a very basic port using PS4 PRO base/resolution, similar situation to Mortal Shell.

Clearly Xbox gonna holds 60fps pretty well, if not only slightly worse than PS5.
Xbox is king in porting backwards compatibility games, PS5 is no match for that. This is another port suffers from "free to upgrade from last gen to next gen" with minimal efforts from devs. Ps5 version is with some tweaks special effects with same resolution as ps4 pro, Xbox SX is pc version with some tweaks and optimized abit. That's all there's to it.

As you can see, there are other games such as this, suffers from this "free to upgrade" syndrome, namely " division 2, ghost recon, mortal shell, etc.."

Copied my own post from another thread.

Mmm. Hearing here and there, this game is very demanding even on pc at 60 FPS. Dictator already found out some FPS issue on ps5. I will be very shocked to see a comparable perfomance with 50% of more pixels but will see.

I really think that Sony should mandate better standarts for this kind of ports but i doubt they will even lift their little finger even if XSX had a consistent 50% resolution/performance advantage through the entire generation in third party games. Contrary to Microsoft they don't seem to care about these things in the slightest (thanks to Jim Ryan philosophy i guess), then why the developers should care without sufficient pressure from Sony or demand from the gamers?

You can't demand this kind of things to developers. You can give them the best tools possible but you can't expect they will offer the best port just because you pretend it .
Also I think too many people fallen in the bait of channel as ElAnalist. He intentionally put the 1920x2160p write to dramatise the difference just to push the Xbox superior version narrative. Indeed people just talking about it without to care if native resolution it's really worth it for steady 60 FPS

Also would explain why the game size went up. They did minimal work to make native clients and called it a day. I’m not too surprised because the game needs a lot of work and they don’t really have the time to devote on this.

Anyone know how to clean Xbox Series S?

Just asking for now cause I'm going to have to clean the vents sometime in future

Do I just use a dust blower or compressed air into the vents. I pray to god i won't have to open this fucking thing up.
Please GAF, say it ain't so. Please don't say I have to open the console.

I know that artifact are present with CBR, I was mainly speaking the resolution he found. We can directly see for example that the overall resolution is higher on PS5 than XsS (but under XsX) as shown in rounded blue part, but the X axes resolution is lower as shown in the rounded red part and the artifacts from CBR, that's why I think he was not bullshitting about the resolution he reported. Now, if that's a bug or dev choice, we don't know. The thing that's surprise me the most is that DF never speak about this resolution in their video.
