It depends what the discussion is about -Sorry but the most important FUD topic is how many of those are $1 subscribers? At least according to some really concerned people on boards.
It's a fair point. The news has felt slow lately, thanks to covid, and that gives us all too much time on our hands.good point sir.
i feel like because lately every rumour is treated as a fact, look at the post above yours, and people just run with it.
It's hard to tell. I think mobile will get a small boost just by existing, at least as soon as Apple devices are officially widely supported. And then things will pick up based on select titles.I don't see many mobile only subs right now, to be honest. They will come with xcloud eventually, for sure, though.
PC I guess is not too bad but the MS store is still riddled with bugs and Steam is the go-to store still.
I guess console is still the main driver for subs so it's important to make as much consoles as possible, at least for the time being, to grow the subs.
Legit will hit 40 Mil if Starfield hits this holidayThis is before the real games even start coming.
Their fiscal year ends in June AFAIK. Or do you mean that shitty tax report thing in the US?Microsoft reports their earnings in less than a week, instead of listening to these dipshits maybe just wait until the actual numbers come out?
Why?26 million xbox owners are divs
Yup. People got their 1$ 3 months deal and for many people that deal already expired and somehow number of subs is still increasing.Sorry but the most important FUD topic is how many of those are $1 subscribers? At least according to some really concerned people on boards.
This board holds a lot of users, it doesn’t mean there are no fans of the service just because we can’t have general GP talk openly anymore. 23 million subscribers for what is essentially a platform on it’s own makes it bigger than PS5 and XSX/S, combined! This forum puzzles me sometimes.
"Gamepass will be the death of gaming and is pushing a soulless subscription model that will degrade quality industry wide"
"Yes yes indeed. Agreed."
*also this sub*
*gamepass got more subs*
"YAAAAAAY WOOOOO GO MICROSOFT! YESSSS GAMEPASS!!"
i think is reasonable to think these numbers are accurate. its pretty much expected. why people act surprised is beyond me.But, honestly, this'd be a risky thing to make up. It's way safer to say some far off vaguely specific but specifically vague promise than something that could be proved wrong in five days.
For not having gamepassWhy?
Or it's all of those All-Access sales.. :OThat's up by 11 million since September when they had 12 million subs.
They had 18 million 3 months ago.
Thats a lot of revenue if they are all $10 subs. 10*22 = $220 million. They can easily buy RE8 with that every month.
June 17, 2017when did gamepass come out? in 2017? does anyone have an official chart metric
I wonder if we can reach 30 mil. by September though.Dang that's pretty good. Stuff like Outriders, MLB, solid library of sports titles (via EA Play) etc. are starting to add up. If they can net some of these other rumored things like U-Play, EA Sports releases day-and-date (or at least FIFA Day 1 on the service), BattleField 6 etc. they should probably reach 30 million by the end of the year.
Yeah, the biggest wildcard is asian market. If Game Pass is able to settle down there - via mobile or TV for example - time exclusive deals will be very very expensive for Sony. In fact - how many western time exclusive games did Sony have in the recent years? I mean the really big ones? Not so money. They have bigger exclusivity only on Japanese side and that's it.It'll probably come to a point where publishers will simply not pursue timed exclusivity or co-marketing deals, or where the price for doing them goes up so much that it won't be worth it for Sony to pursue them as much going forward.
This is essentially a new generation insofar as the consoles themselves, but things like subscription services are truly cross-generational. Basically that makes it harder for Sony to leverage install base for units but easier for Microsoft to leverage subscription service numbers as its own type of install base.
The thing the last quarterly call did not include one month - so they had 19 mil. in all actuality already. So it is slightly bigger than 1 mil. at most. In fact the quarterly call from the next week will include 22 mil. rather than 23, because it won't include April's numbers.Holy smokes, 5mil this quarter?. Its been going up by 2 or 3mil every quarter.
What is divs?
A Div is an English word for silly person. I was going to use mong<div>Loope</div>
idk
It is going to kill gaming. Traditional gaming died a long time ago, we're just pissing on ashes at the moment, but this will kill casual gaming to pave the way for mobile gaming. Doesn't mean I'm not loving the free games thoughRemember when a service like this from a $2 trillion company wasn't sustainable and killing gaming?
but imagine if they had some great exclusives on there

EL Edit: Notable announcements can get their own threads. Monthly sets of regular releases can get their own threads. General ongoing talk can go here to cut down on the daily hype wars and bickering threads. Gamepass has definitely mixed up console gaming more than anything else in...www.neogaf.com
Annual is mid year but Q3 comes out on the 27th.Their fiscal year ends in June AFAIK. Or do you mean that shitty tax report thing in the US?
Hasn't it been around much longer and is like 1/50th the price? This board holds a lot of users, it doesn’t mean there are no fans of the service just because we can’t have general GP talk openly anymore. 23 million subscribers for what is essentially a platform on it’s own makes it bigger than PS5 and XSX/S, combined!

Do you really think the majority of those subscribers are playing the full price?Remember when a service like this from a $2 trillion company wasn't sustainable and killing gaming?
But the fallacy in their theory is that you actually can't get 3 years for 1 USD as you first need to buy 3 years of Gold which would cost you 360 USD in today's market, or 180 USD a year or two back. Even though they somehow always forget to mention that particular part.Yup. People got their 1$ 3 months deal and for many people that deal already expired and somehow number of subs is still increasing.
It's like maybe that 1$ deal is a hook a many people will stay subscribed after that because it's a great service. Imagine that...
Do you really think the majority of those subscribers are playing the full price?
Please could you first define "dirt cheap" then point me to get it dirt cheap? Thanks.GamePass subs are still being given away dirt cheap, hence Microsoft will continue to hide the financials for it, and Sony and Nintendo won't follow suit because they're making much more money from gaming than Microsoft is.
I predict around 50 mil. by the end of 22. Keep in mind that all those values are purely PC/Xbox and maybe a little bit of XCloud. Only now we got betas for iPhone and browsers on PC. I expect faster growth.i predicted 50 millions before the end of the gen will be most likely 70 m
they were only at 12 million subs in september last year. xsx launch has doubled those numbers.Well if these are concurrent active subscribers and not just cummulative, and not just a rumor, then I'm sure Microsoft will have no problem in shouting it from the rooftops. I also want to know how many are new to Xbox, and how many are just converted.
At 10$ a month, with 23 million subscribers, wouldn't this catapult Xbox into the top of the pile in terms of revenue?
Just sayin
Three months of GamePass for $1.Please could you first define "dirt cheap" then point me to get it dirt cheap? Thanks.
It is a legitimate question though. And if people are paying $10/mo or more realistically $15 unless you just dont play online, thats $120/$180 per year before actually buying any games, which I imagine most 3rd party games wont be day one. Ive even seen gamepass promos on Cheezits and Poptarts etc lol
Of course. It's easier to parrot stupid shit like that without knowing what are they talking about...But the fallacy in their theory is that you actually can't get 3 years for 1 USD as you first need to buy 3 years of Gold which would cost you 360 USD in today's market, or 180 USD a year or two back. Stockpiling Xbox Live Gold service (up to 36 months total), then converting it all to Game Pass Ultimate for just $1 extra through this deal - three years of Game Pass Ultimate for $181.
