Sorry mate, it doesn’t make me laugh. It actually just worries me that the people I work with could hold these extremist views (although I doubt it, because they never seem able to keep their mouths shut). It makes me worry for our future legacy. Theres not that many rogue likes you can save in the middle of a level or middle of run. At least you progress gets saved after a boss, so you can go from level 1 straight to level 3 if you’ve beaten the first 2 bosses, so you basically just have to do level 3 and its boss.
You finish level 3 and then you start at level 4 every time there on.
Most rogue like games take 1and 1/2 - 3 hours to finish if your on a good run. The ones I have played you cant save in the middle of a run

It does, yeah. Which is the only way to safely 'pause' the game currently.
If an update of any kind happens while in rest mode, it will close the game out. So I think there's an option to disable automatic install updates in system settings. This will keep the game safe from closing. I'll have to try it.

Maybe it could fell weird at beginning but you are not supposed to pause... you are suppose to restart.
Restart is part of the mechanics of Rogue-like games.
It is fine to restart over and over again... in fact it is how you progress.
